Has a breakfast vegetarian sausage patty sandwich ( it's not on the menu that they have the veggie sausage so ask for it. It's amazing.
Coffee is wonderful.
Art is beautiful
Great ventilation!
Fantastic French looking seats.

This place is awesome. I will say it's not cheap, but you get what you pay for and if you're looking for a great matcha latte and a breakfast sandwich look no further.
I'm in town for work for 24 hours and trying to break up a streak of sterile airport eateries I sought out a coffee shop to get some local food. Zocalo did not disappoint - excellent matcha latte and their breakfast sandwich has the perfect balance of veggies/protein squeezed in to it with a big side of fresh fruit. Highly recommendHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 35134218Apr 9, 2024
Liked everything about this cafe. Had an hour to kill while our cat was getting his chemo nearby so we decided to get some coffee and eats here.
Ordered the breakfast egg sandwich, peanut butter banana toast both were excellent and we got a side of scrambled eggs which was just ok.
The coffee is the star here. We got the medium roast and wow wow wow , loved it.
Really liked the space, the music playing in the background, the restroom and most importantly the nice folks working here. Will be back .Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - 1352591669Feb 28, 20241 check-in
The cutest little coffee shop in downtown San Leandro. Truly a hidden gem. I wasnt expecting it to be so warm and inviting inside based off the photos on here, but it was! Maybe it was all of the green plants, the family photos on the wall, the cute kids area, or huge selection of board games -- but overall I really enjoyed this cafe.
I, of course, got a iced matcha latte with oat milk and sugar free vanilla -- so yummy!
i would so go here again just for the vibes or even to work. Truly recommend, dont sleep on this place!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Mar 10, 20241 check-in
Such a fun and funky little neighborhood spot with coffee made the way it should be.
The kind of spot with such a diverse community it's a joy, right down to the quirky older guy singing and shimmying in line beside me.
The service is lovely.
The prices are a bit much, I struggle with $15 avocado toast but I suppose that's the state of the world these days!!! Will absolutely return again and again.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 164552103Apr 7, 2024
This place is great! I travelled from further south to meet someone here as it was sort of a half way point for us. Great choice!
I arrived around 9am on a Saturday morning. There was a peaceful but bright vibe. People were quietly shuffling in for their morning coffee and some breakfast bites. I was thrilled to see they offered Borgia, a mocha with orange essence. I'm not a fan of sweet drinks so I asked to have the flavor cut down to only 1/4 sweet. It was delicious! But it that was 1/4 sweet, I'm nervous to think how sweet full sweet would be. It was definitely a drink to slowly sip and engage with a slow morning.
I begrudgingly had to do work but doing it here made it so much more fun. There was a gentle but vibrant buzz coursing through the veins of this cafe. It helped me to focus on the work I had to while giving me space to feel like I was "away". Lovely!
As the morning went on, my meeting came and went, the hustle and bustle of the cafe picked up. People were eating and drinking, chatting with friends and family. Some people worked, others were just hanging out.
I didn't realize how many hours had gone by as I was engrossed in work with a heavy deadline. The busy cafe pace started to die down a bit closer to 2. It was time to go. I'd done what I could do for the day.
My one wish that I would love to see is more options for tea. But that is a picky wish.
If I'm in the area again, I'm coming back! This place was a delight!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 14259235Mar 22, 2024
such a great and ambient place to study and get some work done!! there's lots of tables and it's very spacious inside so you're not in a typical cramped busy cafe.
they had a variety of caffeinated beverages as well as flavors you can add. my friend and i were on a lavender bender and their coffee + lavender definitely hit the spot!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mar 18, 2024
This my favorite coffee shop in my area! Service is always great and the food is always fresh! I love love love the use of local seasonal produce! You can truly taste the difference! The atmosphere is always laid back; at its busiest you'll get a chatty atmosphere where you can people watch!

Local coffee shop with breakfast offerings and no frills coffee menu. Their iced americano was strong as hell and brought me back to life. Big fan. My partner loved the horchata latte as well. The cold brew is made in-house, but comes from a can, so it wasn't my favorite as I feel a lot of canned cold brews taste overly acidic, but maybe that's just me. Half and half and milk alternatives available on the side as self-serve.
Huge interior, looks great for working or studying and there were plenty of open seats. Free self-serve iced water with fruits in the jugs, which is awesome. They also have a super cute wall of local pets. I'm going to bring our pug around one day to hopefully get a spot on this wall. We'll be back to try their breakfast menu, which had a note at the time saying it was being revamped.Helpful 0Thanks 2Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 8, 2023
This is just for the drinks. We didn't order any foods, didn't try the food. We ordered an iced matcha latte, a regular brewed coffee, and a hot chocolate. All three drinks where quite underwhelming. As in, if you've ever had one of those drinks (other than the brewed coffee) elsewhere, you'd kind of feel like you got served by amateurs.
The brewed coffee is just that. Brewed coffee.
The iced matcha latte and the hot chocolate is where things are noticeably bad. Almost undrinkable bad. The iced matcha latte had just a tiny small subtle hint of matcha, almost like they were rationing their matcha for an emergency--you couldn't really taste any matcha. For an extra $1, you can add in some syrup, which my wife did--vanilla. This made her iced matcha latte taste artificial. So you're really just drinking whole milk with a tiny hint of matcha and a strong flavor of artificial sweetener. Quite disappointing.
The hot chocolate was just chocolate water. There was no depth to the chocolate. There was no richness. There was just chocolate flavor mixed with water. This was easily one of the worst hot chocolates I've ever had in my life.
Perhaps the food is good as I noticed almost everyone actually having ordered some food. The other saving grace are that the service was nice and friendly, kind. The store had a nice layout and reminiscent of a nice coffee shop. The little kid play area is extremely nice and convenient and I noticed some parents and their little ones just hanging out there.
No parking. Street parking.Helpful 5Thanks 2Love this 2Oh no 0
