I went there on a test drive offer since we were looking at a SUV. We liked the automobile, but the dealership screwed us out of our test drive promotion.

These idiots took advantage of my sister and charged her $130 to read a code.
When we talked to them afterwords they were unapologetic.
I would recommend doing these things before going to this dismal excuse for a business:
1) go anywhere else.

Very un-organized, salesmen are horrible and don't follow through, cars in the lot were filthy, one guy was more into puffing on his e-cig than making a sale. Lost 2 possible sales from my family and we wont ever recommend them.. even to someone we don't like!

I went for a scheduled appointment for an oil change, techs said it could take an hour. However, the service time was well under that. I used to change my own oil but, it's hard to compete with their price to change the oil and dispose of the used oil and filter.

Salesman had the sale, sales manager lost it. Very aggressive and pushy. Would not come down $1 from advertised price and kept trying to sell me his paint protection program. "You want to protect your investment don't you?!" Over and over. What kind of question is that, of course I do but not for your expensive cost, maybe if you weren't an 4$$hole then I may have thought about it. Go elsewhere. Very unprofessional

Not happy with their service department at all. They did not fix my car but instead did work to it that had no affect on its performance. Just made money off of me and left my family with a rough running car as it was when I brought it in to the so called Experts. Totally disappointed with them and their GM and service director. Did not even get a follow up call of how my service was or how the car is now running.
Took it back one time as they requested and that was a total waste of time. They wrote my mileage down wrong and instructed me to drive it more to see if it would stop running so rough. However I had already put 3 tanks of gas thorough it and they did not have the millage properly written down.

Larry, I'm really sorry that you've had a bad experience working with us recently. I can assure you that the repairs that we did on your car were done with your safety and your car's well-being in mind. Had some minor body damage repaired on my 2014 Nissan Maxima. Got my estimate first before filing the claim with my insurance company to see what I was in for. It was a lot more than I was expecting, not due in any way to ZImmerman Auto's estimation methods but the fact that a lot more car had to be painted in order to match colors across large swaths of the car. Work was done on time without issues. I appreciated the courtesy pickup on the day it was ready so I didn't have to shag a ride with a co-worker. The card looked brand new when finished. Absolutely no complaints. Their preferred status with my insurer also helped to smooth the whole process.

I took my BMW in for an oil change and to have recall work done. Told them the car was cranking over really slow, assumed it was the battery. Asked them to test the battery. They 'said' the battery was fine. Low and behold the battery was bad and went. After reading the paperwork from the mechanics notes, they didn't test the battery. The note said "battery warning light not on, battery not tested". We ended up replacing it on our own and then taking it to European Motors on Center Point Rd to have the battery registered. Any other BMW owners not pleased with Zimmerman, seriously consider taking it to European Motors, they are awesome! Don't waste your time with Zimmerman. Oh and my oil change cost $300.00 because they charged one hour of labor to write down that the batter light was not on.

Took my car to the body shop for a scheduled '2 day repair'. Got it back 12 days later. First, wrong part was ordered, then forgot to order a part...

They were very helpful. I had literally been to every dealership in Cedar Rapids, and I couldn't find a used car I loved. I went to them and described what I wanted. They showed me what they had which was close, but perfect. They took down what I wanted and called less than a week later that they had just picked up a car from auction that they think fits the bill. They wanted me to see it before it was put on the lot. I got there and it was perfect, the price was right too. They did not pressure me to buy, and they let me drive it home for the day to see if I liked it. I was sold. I will definitely be going there for my next car purchase.
