Zazu Salon

One of my coworkers recommended Zazu for a local hair salon. I have been twice for a trim and had two different stylists and was very pleased with my haircuts!

- Great location in Gold Coast, close to those who live downtown
- Very friendly staff, always offer water after checking in - one time I went shopping beforehand and they offered to hold onto my purchase
- Nice, clean boutique salon

Pricing varies - there are options for those who are more budget conscious (Junior stylists start at $45) and there are various price points from $45 all the way up to $100++ (assuming stylists with more experience, etc. would be higher in price)

I will be back in a few months for another trim. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for a reliable hair salon!

Always so happy with my service at Zazu - Martha does an amazing job and I always leave in a better mood. It's always clean, they have wine and coffee, plus Gold Coast location always calls for shopping after. The best!

I have been going to Zazu Salon for 7 years and will never go anywhere else in Chicago for my cut and color. My husband and I moved to the suburbs last year and I still make the trip downtown to get my hair done because everyone here does such an amazing job :) I have had fantastic services with Lindsay, Lynett and Jane in the past but Carolyn is my most recent stylist and she does a wonderful job with both cut and color when I went back to brunette from being blonde.

Everyone really cares that you love your hair and is willing to fix it or tweak if you aren't satisfied. I love that they provide product recommendations but aren't harassing you to buy things you don't need or overselling just make good suggestions. Also, they are always very forthcoming when explaining pricing and asking if you want to add things on to your service but it's never something that feels forced. :) Overall it's always a relaxing experience and I walk out feeling refreshed and happy with my hair!

Ask for Daniel. He did a wonderful job fixing the color of my hair. This studio salon is on 2nd floor of a townhouse with a great vibe, tucked into an area of the city surrounded by highrises. Cheerful & bright place too.

You know that feeling when you finally find a go-to stylist and colorist? Well I'm SO HAPPY to have found Zayna!! She is literally a gem. Not only does she do a phenomenal job, she is also the sweetest and so genuine. I was impressed by how much care she took in understanding what I was looking for and my balayage was perfection too! I didn't know how my dark Asian hair would handle going lighter and she was really knowledgeable and nailed the color I wanted. Each time I went to her, I walked out happy and feeling beautiful. I absolutely trust Zayna with my hair, thanks!!

Veronica Salazar is truly a hair goddess and amazes me everytime she works her magic with my hair. For the last 3 years she has been my go to hairstylist and I trust and admire her dedication to always making sure I leave her chair feeling absolutely beautiful! The Chicago downtown Zazu location is so convenient with valet parking which makes it so much easier to just walk right in! The service is amazing from the moment you walk into the salon until you leave. Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. Thank you Veronica for being the best hairstylist I can ever ask for. I recommend her 110%, book her now ladies!

Best blowout of my WHOLE LIFE last Sunday. Daniel is a perfectionist. I walked out with a head of hair I didn't even know I had. He was meticulous and kind - crazy talented!

I have been going to see Zayna every 3 or 4 months for the last few years. I can't say enough great things about her and Zazu Salon. Zayna is so so so friendly, always makes me feel comfortable, hears out my vision and looks at my inspo photos, and makes what I want happen -- in a way that protects the health of my hair. She is really the sweetest soul. All the employees at Zazu are super nice and welcoming. The entire vibe is classy but relaxed. I'm usually there for about 3 hours each appointment and it flies by because I'm having the best time. I can't say enough great things!

I absolutely love this salon! I've been a client here for over 3 years, everyone is extremely polite, the salon is clean, and products are outstanding. Carolyn is my go to girl, I trust her with all my hair care needs and she always leaves me speechless and so excited to return the second I leave! Booking appointments is so easy and they offer so many great needs! They also have great deals with their products and just fully exceed all my expectations. Can't say enough great things!
