Pretty decent spot for Mediterranean food! First time trying Zam Zam Grill based on my hair stylist's recommendation.
Parking: shares a parking lot with Mioki Sushi, McDonalds, Mountain Mike's Pizza, Walgreens, etc. The parking lot isn't huge but I've never had a problem looking for parking. I was able to find parking right in front of the grill on a Friday night around 8 PM.
Service: it's fast-food style ordering so you order at the front, pay and then pick your food up when it's ready. Service is mediocre, and when I came in the cashier had headphones in, but he was friendly enough. No complaints cause the food was good enough. Prices are about the same as a sit-down Mediterranean places. Got a combination plate that contains chicken, steak & lamb (~$14) and it came with a veggie salad, pita bread, and hummus! I also ordered small fries (~$3).
Food: Very yummy, meat is tender & juicy, portions are enough for 1 person but probably not more. I shared with a friend and we finished the plate but we were able to share because we weren't very hungry.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Karina H.Hayward, CA24626Aug 2, 2021Updated review
Honestly , I really do love this place because the food is great .I'm always craving it but save yourself the time and CALL before you show up . Don't trust Google or Yelp with their hours because they are never open . This guy opens whenever he wants . I practically can never come here anymore because they are never open . Even if they say they open at a certain time , trust that they will be opening hours later or not at all .
Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Mar 1, 2019Previous reviewHonestly , I've been coming here for quite some time now and I ALWAYS get the chicken plate . I've gotten a taste of the other things on the menu from other people who get it but I always end up getting the chicken plate because it's my favorite . I've tried many other halal places but this place is honestly my favorite ! Never disappoints me and every time I get my chicken plate , it taste amazing .

Honestly, I'm going to have to give this place a 1 Star. I started working in Fremont in 2018 and have heard lots of good things about this place.
For the past two years, I have tried physically going to this location during lunch and they are never open. I have tried going here almost 10 times during lunch, and each time they are closed. I wanted to give this place a benefit of the doubt, but now I am fed up and going to have to leave a bad review.
Yelp says they open at 11am, and I've tried couple times, nothing. Tried calling countless times, no pick up. When I finally looked on google, and it says 12pm, I figured, "oh maybe I've been going and calling at the wrong time before they open". So I try going and calling after 12pm. Still nothing.
On 05/26/20 after trying to call several times after 12pm, I thought maybe I should just go and make an order in person. I get there, and closed. It is 12:30pm and the place should be open. So now I am over trying this place and going to spread awareness on how shitty they are handling their opening hours. At least place a sign for actual hoursHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Jun 8, 2018
I was craving a falafel wrap and did a quick search on my Yelp mobile app. Zam Zam Grill came up as my closest location from the gym.
As I arrived at the restaurant, I planned to order take out and gazed at the menu above the cashier area for a couple minutes. Besides wanting a falafel warp, I wanted to try some other menu items. I also decided to add a beef & lamb gyro and french fries. My order was taken promptly with great customer service.
Once my order was prepped and done, I headed home to enjoy my orders. The food remained hot since it was wrapped in foil for my couple minute drive home. My falafel wrap was full of falafels, fresh veggies, and tzatziki sauce. The lamb & beef gyro was seasoned very well, crunchy lettuce and onions, and tzatziki sauce all placed on soft flatbread. The french fries were crispy during the duration of my meal.
I wouldn't mind coming back here again!

Delicious Mediterranean restaurant in Fremont! I came here for lunch with two colleagues on a Wednesday. There was one person working- which makes this experience a 4 star rather than a 5 star. In addition to our 3 orders, there were other orders that I believe were called in. The poor guy was swamped! It took about 30-40 minutes for us to get our food. I understand small businesses can run lean which is why it's still a good review- especially since the food was so tasty!
For $11, I got a LARGE plate- Falafel Platter which came with 3 large pieces of falafel, two large pieces of pita, a large salad, rice, and Tzatziki sauce with a soda... you get a lot of food! I ordered mine spicy which was simply a spicy on top of the falafel pieces. The food was very tasty! Definitely could not finish it all for one person, you'll definitely have leftovers.
High-level Tips: There's a parking lot! No bathroom?? You might need to wait for your food since it's a small business and not a ton of staff. But it's worth it y'all! Definitely will come by here again!

Love their Chicken Gyro! It comes with fresh tomatoes and lettuce. Topped with a generous amount of and tasty tzatziki sauce. It also comes with loads of fries. I literally only order their Gryo. I don't like how you have to order a drink separately. I also don't like the guy that takes the order. He is full of attitude and acts like he doesn't wanna be there.

Finally made it to Zam Zam Grille, Took a few times since they don't always open on time, I think they are short staffed...
Anyways; Food is delicious, they are very slow, but very nice about it so I shopped at the liquor store that was going out of business and Walgreens right next door... when I came back my takeout order was ready.
The front of house guy is super super nice, He told all the people coming in how long the orders would take.
It's a tiny little place...
Veggie gyro was awesome
and the falafel wrap was delicious. This amazing food may have been slow, but if your getting takeout like I did you call call in your order before you go...
ENJOY!!!Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 13Oh no 0 - Hassan J.Arden-Arcade, CA051Nov 23, 2021
If I had a 0 star option I would chose that, I haven't been to this place in a while and the time I come the food is absolute dog shit, so nasty I don't think it's considered food at this point, the old workers were way better, these no workers are horrible. Place is shit food is shit and workers are shit I'm never coming here again and whoever is reading this, DO NOT COME HERE!!

I've been on this Mediterranean kick for a few weeks now. I think I have found my one cuisine I can stick to everyday w/o getting tired of it - can be healthy and fattening. After our movie date, I decided to hit up a bookmark for lunch before crossing the bridge to Palo Alto.
Found this place relatively easy but you can't see it on Decoto. I just happened to do the math based on my GPS and walked into what I believe is one of the best Mediterranean joint I have ever been to.
I had my mind on the gyro but the guy sold me on the Philly cheesesteak. He said that it is one of his most popular item. Sold! I ordered Gavin a cheeseburger. I upgraded mine to a combo (fries and a drink).
About roughly 10-12 minutes, our food was served. After the first bite, I fell in love. I ate fast because I was hungry and because it was so good but I was also savoring each bite, too if that made sense. The gyro was juicy, flavorful.. I can taste the cumin. It was cheesy and spicy like I asked and the roll was soft. I could eat 3 of those in 1 sitting! Gavin enjoyed his cheeseburger but did not finish so I benefited it... the fries were perfectly fried and seasoned.
I cannot think of anything negative. Service rocked, too. Super nice gentlemen behind the counter. I will be back this weekend... I regret not ordering another to-go.

If you're in the mood for mediterranean and haven't tried this place yet then I highly recommend you do... I've only had the chicken gyro and it's become one of my favorites!
The service here is exceptionally pleasant so it's nice to sit down and eat but if you're in a rush, then it's a better idea to call ahead and place your order beforehand. That way it'll be nice and ready to-go for pick up and you won't have to wait as long since it seems everything is made-to-order. You can really taste the freshness of their food so it's worth it!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
