Dr. Zakhor's life's calling is to be a dentist. I, like most people, am not a fan of the dentist office, but he and his staff go above and beyond to create a comfortable environment. Most importantly, his work is immaculate! Dr. Zakhor did my veneers six years ago and they are still in perfect condition. I originally planned on only getting my veneers done here and visiting a local dentist for my regular check ups and cleanings, but I find myself always coming back to Dr. Zakhor even if I live a bit far. He's worth the far drive and $10 parking!

I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
I had had a wisdom tooth extraction by another DDS, and was experiencing severe pain 2 days later. My general DDS did treat it, but I was still in severe pain. I sought another opinion as what Ive used before was a different type of eugenol packing. zakhor recommended a bone graft, and assured me it would seal the socket, and I would be out of pain within a few days.
When he numbed me up, he left the room. When he came back, the anesthetic was wearing off. I was able to feel the bone graft packing and the needle in my gums as he was stitching the socket. He did give me another injection which was shot pain down into my lip. I asked if I had a nerve injury and he said no. I still have some parasthesia and pain in my lower jaw and lip.
He didn't even wash his hands before the oral surgery; I had to ask him to wash and reglove.
I was patting my legs, hyperventilating, moaning, clenching my fists and trying to verbally communicate that I was in pain and needed to wait until the second injection took hold. There was no assistant. He was pushing my jaw to the left; I ask him to stop as it was hurting and he did not.
When he took his gloves off, he said I didn't have a dry socket. And yet prior to the surgery, he said he recommended the bone graft to treat a dry socket.
I was horrified.
In retrospect, considering where my pain was located, I was having a dental induced migraine, but he didn't ask me where my pain was located.
I remained in severe surgical pain for 3 days. His office called in pain medication to the wrong pharmacy. That pharmacy did not have that medication and told me that had called zakor but had not gotten a response I sent several texts to him/the office re: what the correct pharmacy was that I used, and who close to me had the pain medication. For over 24 hours, my pain was unaddressed and I was not getting a reply via call or texting.
He had called in an abx that's in a classification of which I've had a severe reaction. I have a hx of multiple drug sensitivities. i kept calling and texting tbat we need to have a conversation about my drug history. No response.
Only when I felt he ws ignoring me, I called in on an altnernate number as a new patient, and he picked up. Since it was evening, and pharmacy didn't have it ready until the next day, so I went a day and a half without adequate pain management.
Two days later i developed a sore on the gums by the surgical site. i wqs worried i had an abcess. i reached out to him. no response. I know someone who tried to get into him that weekend, and for $500 he offered to come in for a new patient. But as an established patient i was ignored.
After the procedure, I talked to another DDS who said that I got scammed. He said bone grafts are for implants, and are not used to treat dry sockets. And again, zakhor said I didn't even have one.
This DDS encouraged me to file a report with the CA dental board, which I have. I've spoken to other dentists that confirmed that bone grafts are used for bone loss (which I didn't have) or for prep for a dental implant. I have no plans for implant placement where my wisdom tooth was, as I had told Zakhor.
Bone grafts take many weeks to heal. So my healing time has unfortunately been extended.
I've asked for a refund. His responses include threatening to report me to my licensing board if we cannot resolved this amicably, yet offers no resolution.
I've spoken with my attorney, and this threat is really irrelevant since I was in his office as a patient, not the treating provider.
I deeply regret my visit here and feel traumatized.Helpful 5Thanks 5Love this 3Oh no 6 - Dustin N.Monrovia, CA3799Jan 18, 2024
This is not a reputable doctor this is an active CON ARTIST!
He has been caught paying for FAKE online reviews take the time to watch this video https://www.today.com/health/health/fake-doctor-reviews-rcna39193 (https://www.today.com/health/health/fake-doctor-reviews-rcna39193)

If you speak up against him he will call and text you threatening you with legal action for speaking the truth.
I paid just shy of $80,000 for my teeth to come out gray and enormous. You can see in the first photo what the teeth were supposed to look like. In the next 2 photos what he actually placed in my mouth. Note how unnatural and gray they appear not to mention how aesthetically unpleasing they are because the shape and the fact they are way too large for my face.
On top of that the bite was completely wrong resulting in immense pain and sensitivity. He also did not size them correctly so my nerves were exposed.
And actually talented cosmetic dentist could have done better job if he made the veneers with his feet. This doctor is a horrible.
In the last photo the upper impression is what my teeth looked like when I started. The bottom was the
" Custom smile design" he charged me more than $10,000 for.
And worse than his low quality work and the intentional lies his office was run so chaotically that he had multiple people administer Novocaine after already providing Xanax that he did not pay attention to the dosage and gave me so much Novocaine that I had a cardiac incident in his office.
This doctor is dangerous deceptive and actively sought to deceive me.
I have additional opinions from 5 other cosmetic dentists who all speak to the abhorrent quality of his work. If you would like write to me directly on Yelp and I will share these letters with you.
And you can make your own decision on if you should work with this man.Helpful 8Thanks 4Love this 2Oh no 6 - 693127Jan 10, 2024
CON ARTIST - STAY AWAY! Thank GOD I did my homework on this doctor.
First of all, he makes you sign a document saying you won't write a bad review, MAJOR red flag (see picture attached). Then I did my research and found out he is a complete fraud and rips off his patients. He lures them into his chair and attacks their wallets once he has you already at his office. He has lost lawsuits for this and is currently being sued by various other patients.
Additionally he's been caught by Yelp for purchasing positive reviews so do not believe the ratings you see, look at what the real reviews have to say. Please see below for the evidence of all of this! Always do your homework and in this case, STAY AWAY!Helpful 12Thanks 8Love this 6Oh no 9Business owner information

Hello there Jennifer! Reading your review, it seems like you’ve never been a patient of our office and your review is not a genuine review as it does n it express your own personal experience.
FYI the lawsuits you’re referring to have all been DISMISSED.
Still we hope you find a dental office that best suited your needs and can help improve your smile to the level you see fit for you. - Nima S.Tarzana, San Fernando Valley, CA04Apr 19, 2024
I no longer fear the dentist or hygienist. I didn't even feel any pain during my deep cleaning or cavity filling. I would've taken a nap if I didn't have to keep my mouth open the whole time. -- It was a pleasure.

The saga continues.
After I posted my review, Dr Zakhor and his office called me multiple times to dispute my own experiences and opinions. They offered to take down my review with monetary incentive. We did not reach an agreement on this.
Then they claimed I was extorting money from them.
They went to Yelp with such claim and took down my review. I showed evidence that the dental office actually offered me first; Yelp was fair enough to reinstate the review, and encouraged me to update the story.
They also threatened me with debt collection which will jeopardize my credit score. There are so many major red flags here. Please read for yourself:
1)This so-called debt is for the night guard I was tricked into buying when my first crown fell off just a few months, and the dentist promised me my insurance will cover it. (It was described in the main story)
2) I never received a bill for this night guard or any remaining balance to pay
3) My insurance informed me they reimbursed around 1.5k on the dental procedure (not night guard) and paid it out to the dentist. Zakhor used this money to cover the night guard cost without my permission. I tried to dispute this but no luck with this office.
4) I am not sure if Zakhor ever filed a claim of the night guard to my insurance at all. I was not given any proof the claim was filed even though they promised they would take care of this.
5) the dentist put it into the debt collection without completing due process, with the intent to hurting my credit score, as they claimed in the phone call.
Now please take a look at picture of the debt collection notice I received: I owe them $1175, plus $9.39 interest. I (my insurance) paid $1510. That resulted in me owing Zakhor $124.39? Can someone explain how maths works in this office??
This, again, continues to demonstrate the level of 'service' I am experiencing. You can imagine the amount of calls I have to make with the dental office, Yelp, and debt collector and all the time wasted for nothing. Now I can't even express my frustration without retaliation.
BEWARE! I don't want any of you to experience this pain, so my suggestion is to stay as far away as possible.Helpful 10Thanks 7Love this 5Oh no 7Nov 21, 2023Previous reviewI do not leave any negative reviews but my experience with Zakhor has shocked me to my core.
My experience with Zakhor in Beverly Hills has left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. I underwent a costly procedure, including crowns and a root canal, which the dentist charged me an exorbitant $8900 for (with a $900 "discount"). To add to my dismay, I discovered that the usual cost for such a procedure is around $4000. Despite their claims of having the best technology, it became evident that they share the same crown company as many other dentists.
But that's not all. Even in the midst of fixing my two broken front teeth, bleeding, and in agony, they prioritized their financial interests over my well-being. They insisted on swiping my credit card while I was in the dental chair, covered in bruises and dangling teeth. When my credit card was denied, they forced me to call my credit card company, adding an entirely unnecessary layer of stress and agony.
Throughout the process, the dental practice continued to provide incorrect and incomplete information to my insurance company, leading to further complications. Their excuse for this was a lack of a competent medical biller, a justification that I found unacceptable.
Only three months after the procedure, one of the crowns fell off while I was eating chocolate. When I sought assistance, I was shocked to learn that they expected me to pay an additional $1625 for repairs. Their reasoning? They insisted that the crown fell off due to teeth grinding, even though these were front teeth. To "waive" this fee, they proposed prescribing a night guard, which they claimed would be reimbursable.
Reluctantly, I agreed to their suggestion and followed through with obtaining the night guard. However, their tactics took a manipulative turn when they coerced me into filling out a form detailing the severity of my teeth grinding, under threat of having to pay otherwise. This felt like an unjustifiable invasion of my privacy.
Yet, the saga continued. Despite their previous assurances that I wouldn't be required to pay anything further, they later attempted to charge me an additional $1000. This contradiction and inconsistency only added to my frustration.
To compound my negative experience, another tooth broke about six months later--different from the previous incident--while I was simply eating pasta while traveling in a foreign country. This has highlighted the poor craftsmanship and quality of their work.
It's clear that Zahkor values profits over patient care, and this entire experience has shattered any trust I had in their ability to provide competent and compassionate care. Their disregard for my well-being and their focus on extracting every last penny from me has left an indelible mark of frustration and disappointment. It's a shame that a dental practice that prides itself on being in Beverly Hills and using top-notch technology would fall so drastically short in basic decency for patients.
1.5 years later, I'm still left with zero money reimbursed from the procedure, and I had to see another dentist to actually give me two new crowns, which cost me addition 2000 dollars. These new crowns are not falling off anymore by the way.
I implore anyone considering Zakhor to think twice before subjecting themselves to such a disheartening and traumatic experience. No one should ever have to endure the torment I've faced at the hands of this establishment. - Cassandra W.Monrovia, CA87509Jan 25, 2024Updated review
After I posted my review on Yelp, I began receiving phone calls from doctors Zakhors office.. Which I declined, I then started receiving unknown number calls, which I also ignored. Finally I began receiving text messages from Dr. Zakhor on my personal cell phone. I did not give this doctor my cell phone number or even my last name so I'm not sure how he came across my number. I asked him several times to stop texting me which he ignored. As a woman, I find it so scary that this man would go out of his way to hunt down my personal number, and harass me over a yelp review. It made me feel frightened and unsafe and I cannot believe a medical doctor is doing this. I told him I would be reporting him to Yelp and blocked his phone number after he ignored my request to stop contacting me. This is not the typical behavior of a health care professional and I would be very wary of engaging with him.

We value genuine feedback from those who have used our services. If you have specific concerns, kindly reach out to us directly for accurate resolution. Alternatively, we recommend considering the removal of your review to prevent potential legal proceedings.
Jan 20, 2024Previous reviewI was interested in using this dentist for cosmetic dentistry, particularly veneers, and contacted the office to inquire about pricing as well as the doctor's standing with the dental board. I was told that the doctor has a flawless record. However, upon reviewing the doctor's publicly available data through the dental board, I discovered that he has had many cases raised against him, all for similar reasons. I find it unethical for the staff to be instructed to mislead potential customers. If a business has nothing to hide, it should be transparent and honest, not attempt to conceal information. Due to this, I will not be using this dentist or any company that actively deceives its customers.

Every single thing about this organization is top-notch - and I'm not an easy person to please.
I've been a patient here for years, and I'm consistently impressed with a variety of factors that ultimately point to me always saying "this is the best dentist around Los Angeles":
- staff are supportive, friendly, kind and understanding
- staff are well-trained with lots of experience (they put the "polished" in professional)
- high quality facilities /top-tier
- low wait time
- (the best part) - I always leave SMILING because I know I'm in such good hands.
People compliment my smile all the time, and there wouldn't be anything to compliment if I didn't have such a marvelous team of folks behind the scenes, specifically at Zakhor Dental. I couldn't recommend this company more. I used to dread going to the dentist, and now I actually look forward to my cleanings/ visits... something I never saw coming and am happy to say (one more thing to smile about) !Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0Jan 10, 2020Previous reviewZakhor Dental Group is a game-changer! I grew up absolutely terrified of the dentist, and this place has completely changed the way I view dental care. Even more importantly, they've changed the way I smile (all while giving me more reasons to smile at that!). I enjoy having a reliable dentist who takes care of business with my insurance and encourages me to keep up the personal care at home. I also love getting tips and tricks for making my smile the best it can be. The staff is so kind and willing to work with my busy work schedule. They make me feel important, respecting every minute of my time that I spend here.

I had an absolutely terrible experience with Zahkor Dental. I was given a veneer that is several shades different from the rest of my teeth and, even after being reassured that the office accepts Delta Dental, was made to pay upfront for all procedures. In all, I paid $4,500 with the promise that Zahkor would work with my dental insurance company to get my reimbursements. Zahkor Dental worked with my insurance to get all reimbursements sent to him. He was double dipping on top of terrible work (please see photo). Not only did he refuse to send me the claim reimbursement, he refused to refund me my money for the terrible work he did.
After I initially posted my review, he offered me a refund if I removed my review. When I refused to sign the release of liability until I received my refund, he said I was blackmailing him and threatened to turn me over to the authorities. So, just to see what would happen, I removed my review and he didn't give me my refund. Shocking!!! (no, not really) I am reposting with my previous conversation attached to this review.
After I had posted my original review, I was browsing the other bad reviews for Zahkor and I found a very interesting link on a profile owned by another patient named Daniel. I copied and pasted the link in my previous review and am doing so again. But because I copied and pasted the link from another 1 star review, Zahkor accused me of being "Daniel" and insisted that I take down Daniel's review. I AM NOT DANIEL but he won't talk to Yelp to find out who Daniel is. However, Daniel is my hero because he did find that Zahkor pays for fake Yelp reviews and was featured on the "Today" show for doing so. Please follow the link below to see how corrupt Zahkor really is. Also, at the bottom of Zahkor's Yelp is a link to view "178 other reviews that are not currently recommended." Many of the one star reviews have been placed in this section.
https://www.today.com/today/amp/rcna39193
After I notified Zahkor that I had reposted my 1 star review, he emailed me that he was blocking me. Boo hoo! Please see attached photos for a screen shot of that email.
After the email saying that I was blocked. Zahkor called me nine times. Please see attached photo of his nine calls.
