We have a guest who is allergic to soy. Do you have dishes that are soy free?
A:
We don't have any soybean as an ingredient except for Tofu. So if you avoid dishes with Tofu, your guest should be ok.

This was my second visit to this location, and I enjoyed it every bit as much as my first visit.
Went here for a late lunch and there was no wait to be seated. I've had their original Yuk Gae Jang with Handmade Pasta, and it's the perfect warm soup to cure a stuffy nose and bring you comfort. This time I opted for the Spicy Bibim Noodle. They gave a generous portion of meat with the noodles and the seasoning was delicious.
What I liked:
- Just yummy good quality Korean noodles
- Fast service
- Side dishes were tasty. My Korean friend wanted to make sure I mentioned that their kimchi is good.
- Covered outdoor seating available
- Generous portions
They share a parking lot with other small businesses like Yeems coffee.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Feb 3, 2024
5 stars for the service, but obviously the food was delicious and filling. The woman that helped us out was super sweet and attentive. We even got a free lunch bag and jar of kimchi to take home because they had a promotion. Definitely recommending this place to friends and family.
If 10 Stars was an option, they totally deserve it!!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jan 29, 2024
The centerpiece of Yuk Dae Jang is undoubtedly their Yukgaejang/육개장.
It is a masterful rendition of the classic Korean spicy beef soup. The broth was a rich tapestry of flavors; simmering beneath its surface were tender strands of beef, their fibers imbued with the soup's piquant spices. The verdant scallions and bracken ferns were not only a visual contrast but also a textural complexity, their crispness playing off the softness of the meat. A solid recommendation for homemade-style Yukgaejang/육개장. 4/5.
The banchan, an ensemble of side dishes, were a kaleidoscope of colors and flavors. Each small plate was a fair testament to the diversity of Korean cuisine. That being said, portions were relatively small and on the bitter end. 3.5/5.
While the food was a reliable collection of tastes and textures, the service, though efficient, lacked the subtle notes of warmth that elevate a meal from nourishing to nurturing. The efficiency was appreciated, but a more personal engagement would have transformed the service from perfunctory to memorable. 3.5/5.
The restaurant's decor is a harmonious balance between modernity and tradition. The interior was suffused with a warm glow, casting a comforting light over the neatly set tables. 5/5.
While the service could use a touch more warmth, the excellence of the food, particularly the Yukgaejang, makes it a noteworthy destination for both enthusiasts of Korean cuisine and newcomers alike.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Apr 19, 20241 check-in
I got the original YukDaeJang with custom made ramyun and loved it! It was very filling and I actually got to take half of it home! That's how big it was! The beef was super tender and juicy, it all blends well together with the veggies that come with it. It's such a great meal after a night out so I definitely recommend this place. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn't too busy either. It's definitely a place to eat with a couple friends or a date! It might be harder to sit a bigger group as the space is smaller in size.

Oh man oh man oh man! What amazing food. I've tried the Irvine location, which was very good, and this location is just amazing as well.
Food: everything was cooked to perfection. The beef is literally so tender and juicy. The amount of beef makes the price worth it - probably a bit more than what you'd get at Sun Nong Dan for a similar price. The flavor is aromatic and layered. The veggies are great matches for the meat, and the side dishes are only 3, but all very solid.
Service: server was super sweet. He cut all the meat up into perfect bite-sized chunks. He also packed up our leftovers. I didn't know kimchi was dine in only so I asked to get some kimchi to go. He was super nice and still gave me a little box.
Other: came in around 5pm on a Saturday to avoid the crowd, and it worked pretty well. We sat down, ordered right away, and waited for about 20 mins for the foood to come out. Parking was easy, and ambiance was great.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0Aug 20, 2017Previous reviewDecent food. I liked the portion size and Store size, also liked how easy the parking was. It gives a very homely feeling as soon as you walk in and servers are super nice.
The pork belly is one of their signature dishes, I'm usually not a fan of pork but it was good. - Jan 5, 2024
This was one of the best meals of my life. The bossam was bussin, cooked to perfection. We ordered the medium size for 3 people. The I love that it comes with a bunch of delicious banchan! The pork with a bit of kimchi, a bit of pickledgreen onion, and garlic wrapped with lettuce was the perfect bite. mmmm
The ox bone broth with mandu was so warm and comforting, I would definitely recommend.
Can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Feb 15, 2024Updated review
I was very thankful that the owner invited me back to try the restaurant again. I ordered a few different items on the list and I was surprised that the meat was not as dry as before! Are you doing the weekdays? It does pick up during lunch, which is a good sign. I definitely recommend the dumpling rice cake soup on a cold LA day. Parking is also pretty packed, but I was lucky enough to find a spot. There are also a few takeout orders that I've noticed since I was eating here.

Dear Linda,
First of all, we apologize for any inconvenience you have experienced. We haven't changed our recipe since day one and it goes to the meat and vegetables... we measure each ingredients when we prep our dishes. However, there may be still humanly error, which we take full responsibility on. How can we make this up to you? We are willing to invite you and your brother back for another diner on the house and you can visit any of our locations. Just show the staff this reply and your entire meal for two will be comped.
Once again, sorry for the unpleasant dining experience and thank you for taking your valuable time to leave us a feedback!
-- Yukdaejang USAJan 21, 2024Previous reviewLook, I understand the economy is economying right now. But this was my favorite place before the pandemic to get you get yukaejang! The Korean stew is well known here, but I was so disappointed! How did they not have any of the vegetables and the main ingredients for this stew! The meat was so dry and it was in the soup guys! How can this be possible that the meat is dry? We got the cold Korean noodles and the noodles are very over cooked and thin! It just was not giving!! The meat. I cannot explain to you how dry the meat was! I would rather eat at a food court than this place and that is my honest opinion. I was so freaking disappointing because I hyped this place up for my brother. It is definitely not how I remembered. It's such a shame because I really like this place and the banchan choices were so sad.

Went to a location in San Diego and vowed I would return to an LA location!
Came here on a Thursday around 7 pm. There was plenty of parking in the small lot that served multiple businesses. The inside wasn't busy at all.
The employees were all Korean and very attentive and friendly. Just an fyi if you plan to take things home and dine in, there is a 25 cent charge for a to/go container so maybe bring your own container (saves money and is planet friendly!).
Last time I came I had the original yuk gae jang with custom made ramyum and it was so delicious!
This time we ordered the handcrafted Mandu & rice cake in ox bone broth, the premium tripe and brisket yuk gae jang, and the medium premium bossam boiled in various herbs all for 3 people.
The bossam came out first served with an amazing variety of banchan. With the bossam on a hot plate, we received purple rice, white rice, kimchi, white kimchi, fish cake, chives, spicy pickled veggies, lettuce, garlic, jalapeños, soy bean paste, and shrimp sauce. They went so well with the bossam! We replenished some of the banchan a few times and it was heaven in my mouth. So happy to have tried this and would definitely get again!
I enjoyed the yukgaejang, the broth was delicious but I wasn't a fan of the texture of the tripe as much. I prefer the original yuk gae jang that just comes with the meat.
The mandus were very yummy and the broth was so flavorful as well! I even mixed this broth with the spicy broth together. The rice cakes were okay, not permeated with much flavor so I ate it with some of the bossam fixings.
Still delicious and comforting food with fast and friendly service! Definitely will be back.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Jeff H.Los Angeles, CA02728Apr 19, 2024
Very solid Bossam and Yuk Dae jang. While other places have better bossam, they are true to their name and I have yet to have a better Yuk Dae Jang.

On a Wednesday evening, our group of 4 stopped by for dinner. We were seated immediately and there were only a few other parties. We ordered pork belly to share, and I got cold noodles.
The food was really good but on the expensive side. My only complaint was that the pork belly was meant for 3-4 people and they gave us like 3 pieces or lettuce collectively??? So we had to ask for more multiple times, knowing it's a dish you wrap in lettuce and dip..... Service could improve a lot, as we had to flag down the staff for water and ask for bonchon refills, as they never stopped by the table to check in.Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0
