This hole in the wall has the cheap, yummy Dominican food you're looking for! I ordered pork, beans, rice and they packed the plate (with a little too much rice I might say but it's okay). The total came out to be only $8!! So rare in NYC!
FYI- CASH only here! There's an ATM a block away though if you forget!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Helgen X.New York, NY16352Mar 2, 2023
Absolutely disgusting empanadas, using reused meat instead of meet meant just for them. There was a bone in it as well, meat looked two days old, I never saw something like this, it's unedible. I don't want to try anything else from here and am never coming back.

Yoli's is a hole in the wall Dominican food take out place in lower Alphabet City.
For $7 you get a plate of rice/beans and a main. I've ordered delivery from here and asked them for the daily specials over the phone and they were quick with delivery.
It's good, quick, and affordable Spanish food in lower Manhattan. This place is a gem.Helpful 37Thanks 0Love this 37Oh no 0 - Chaz C.New York, NY781026Dec 3, 2018
$7 for a good-sized plate of rice, beans, and stewed chicken for lunch. Most of the items on the menu are not available, so you essentially have to point or just tell them you want chicken or steak with rice and bean (black or pinto). Very local place, expect that you'll be the only gringo.
Thanks, EV Grieve!

Great portions, fair price, great food. It's rare finding these amazing restaurants in Manhattan, but when you do, you become a life long customer. Ordering was quick and easy, they have several sizes for all appetites. Food came out pretty quick.

The Yoli restaurant is truly a hole in the wall Lower East Side experience. It's mostly local Dominican people who frequent it, but if want a delicious and inexpensive meal (everything is between $5-$10) this is the place to go. I would suggest getting it for takeout as there isn't much space to sit down inside. Whether it's the fish, pork, or beef stew it's hard to walk away unsatisfied. Plus you can always get rice and beans with your choice of meat! Definitely worth a stop in if you are in the area for a lunch and need a quick bite to eat

Found this little gem by accident today after facing an enormous lunch crowd at Rossy Bakery and being ignored by the rude staff at Casa Adela. Defeated and walking back to my office I spotted Yoli Restaurant! It's not much to look at and I'm sure the less adventurous will walk past it but I could tell it was authentic. I ordered the white rice, pink beans and stewed chicken. It was very good and will definitely stop in whenever I'm in the mood for a great Dominican meal.
