Yoga Hikes is an active, fun, social group workout that blends 15 minute segments of yoga and hiking repeated over 90 minutes. Participants will experience the strengthening and stretching of yoga combined with the cardio of hiking - while enjoying the great energy of the outdoors! Our yoga is Vinyasa based and open level with options for power. Hiking is done at a casual or brisk pace and may involve hills, stairs, and uneven terrain of moderate difficulty level. All Yoga Hikes are now organized as private groups for 8 - 15 people (depending on location). Join us for Urban Yoga Hikes in the city or Nature Yoga Hikes through Rock Creek Park between April and November. We have hikes scheduled on Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday and are available Fridays for private groups. Yoga Hikes LLC is a licensed DC business and holds a permit authorized by the National Parks Service.

Yoga Hikes DC was AWESOME!
Perfect combination of nature, yoga and trails.
Danielle is an excellent instructor in articulating moves and proper form (adjusting you when needed), and she allows for the session to be adaptable to however intense you want it to be (eg. running up the hill or walking it). And most of all, she is FUN!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Hannah J.Washington, DC11Aug 30, 2014
What a fantastic way to start the weekend!
I went on my second yoga hike today with Rachel, and while I already knew she was a wonderful teacher from practicing with her at Stroga, her energy, warmth, and humor are such a breath of fresh air on these yoga hikes. She provides excellent tips for both the hiking and yoga portions, and always encourages everyone on the hike to ask questions and really treat it as an opportunity to get one-on-one attention throughout the practice and the hike. She is also just so much fun!
I HIGHLY recommend yoga hikes for a great workout (the hiking moves at a brisk pace, and it really keeps you warmed up for the yoga portions) that is both social and beautiful--what better place to do tree pose than under a tree in Rock Creek?!
And, of course, shoutout to Squeaky the Frog, who really makes the trip.
Take advantage of the amazing resource that is Rock Creek Park, and go on a Yoga Hike! It's just the best way to start the day.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Diane N.Washington, DC22Jun 20, 2014
Yoga outdoors on a beautiful day in DC--it doesn't get any better. I was skeptical about the Rosslyn location, but found parking easily and Danielle worked her magic to find us five parks that I had never visited (and I am a DC native) The yoga/hike was not only a great yoga practice but also a great hiking workout. It was fun meeting other people as well. Using the Washington Monument as a "drishte" for our balance poses was perfect!

This was my first yoga experience and it was well worth the wait! Totally surpasses my expectations. Rachel is admittedly a very good friend of mine but she is also an outstanding yoga teacher. We had a packed group for today's final session of the year, and she did a great job leading all of us noobs. Go Rachel and Danielle for putting together such an awesome and innovative weekend morning activity! And Go Squeaky!!

I had a great time on this hike this past weekend. The weather was amazing and you get a great cardio workout in addition to a hike!
