So glad my fellow Yelpers helped me find this place because I agree that Inwood nail salons leave much to be desired. Most of them give off a "who hurt you?" vibe: locked doors, cash only, appointment only, deposits, late fees...so I was looking for a chill place where I could do some spontaneous, stress-free pampering. YL Nail Salon is that spot. This is clearly a neighborhood fave because the clients are all super comfortable and the technicians are friendly, precise with the work and make sure you like what they are doing. I will definitely be back!

My friend recommended this nail salon and after calling 3 places that didn't answer the phone, I was happy to see they answer the phone and let you know if they are still taking walk ins. I had Indira (Spanish woman ) as a nail tech and she did an amazing thorough job. I did dip powder but already had gel extensions on - she took her time taking them off and making sure my nails were clean and buff. One of my nails was even broken and she made sure to fix it with acrylic so I didn't have to cut all my nails short. She did the dip powder buffed it nice and thin like I like it and kept my round shape. Very nice and knowledgeable on clean nails. Would definitely go back when in are

I was beginning to feel discouraged that I may never find an excellent nail salon around here but thankfully, I finally found this place by September and I quickly became a regular.

I've had my nails done by almost everyone here, including Vivian, the Manager. Everyone's wonderful and a pleasure to deal with. Your nails will always be well taken care of, you pay really a good price and more importantly, if you're a gel or powder nail enthusiast, it lasts forever!

What prompted this review was my recent pedicure and powder manicure with Vivian just this afternoon. Vivian has such great attention to detail and she meticulously paints my nails to ensure it's done perfectly. Her staff keeps on watching her when free, because they get to be trained better, no wonder they're all good! Service is personalized and fantastic, really great customer experience. I can't say that happens in every salon where you walk in and no one bothers to acknowledge that there's a customer. Not here. If it's packed and there's a good reason why, try to be patient and it'll be absolutely worth the wait.

They also have great deals on Monday-Wednesdays that are worth checking out, if you like combo manicure pedicure discounts.

Best nail salon in this area. Owner and staff lovely and very good at their jobs. Detail oriented, safe, gentle, kind, courteous. Open on Sundays. So weird that so many others are closed on Sundays and these other salons don't treat their customers as well as YL Salon. I highly recommend YL Salon if you're in Inwood!

After checking a few nail salons with a friend we came across this gem.

Workers are respectful, and fast, greet yOu at the door when you come in. We checked a few places before coming here and as a new customer going to Thessaloniki places without appointments it can get annoying when people just stare at you with a list face when you h come in.

The staff here were very nice and polite greeted us right.
Will be coming here again very clean, smells good inside as well.

Monday thru Wednesday

Reg mami + pedi = 28

The gist: I chose this nail salon in the neighborhood because they have really great mani/pedi special Monday - Wednesday and I was not disappointed!

The ambiance: This place is small. Real small. I went in on a Monday at 10 am, so it wasn't busy at all, but I'm sure people would be stepping all over each other if it was busy. Otherwise it was clean and well organized, and you can people watch on 207th while the nail techs do their work.

The service: I came in with a few special needs. I had just taken off acrylics after wearing them for about a year, so my nails were pretty damaged. I just moved to NYC so my feet were a but worn and had some healing blisters. And I just sliced my finger pretty bad yesterday chopping vegetables very close to the nail. My nail tech (I didn't get her name) was very nice and methodical, working with all my issues with ease. They do charge and extra $5 for callous removal but I needed it so whatever.

The nails: I got a pedicure and a gel manicure, and both turned out very nicely. The salon is no frills, so not many luxuries, but the bails turned out nicely and that's all that matters. Plus $45 is a great price for gel and a pedicure. I'll definitely be returning!

I loved my experience at YL Nail Salon. I was looking for a nail spot in Inwood that I can frequent as I just moved to this neighborhood and YL salon will be my go to. Sun Mei did my gel manicure, she was very detailed, thorough and took her time even though it was a bit busy.

Worst nail salon ever every time I go there they always smell like fish when I go there and they don't sanitized their tools especially Vivian she uses her tool for same customer and a worker from there told she recycle all her stuff even to bounty
Bathroom dirty smells like a rat died their I can throw up I never to a salon like so dirty in my life and she keep telling customer we do clean and don't use sanitized tool for nails even the acetone yo soak off acrylic she recycle

Less than 24hrs later my nails came off like press on nails the pictures on their profile are not their pictures they are stolen from a different salon! I'm highly disappointed as I paid 105 bucks for these nails (including tip) nail was 90 bucks! I'm so infuriated! I waited an hour to get my nails done! It took my nail tech longer than necessary to finish my and I had to constantly correct her from her mistakes! Highly disappointing!
