We have the best gyros in town. Our guest love our chicken salads and chicken souvlaki plates.
Ask the Community
Q:
Do they use a beef/lamb mix, a beef only or a lamb only for their gyros?
A:
They have standard beef/lamb gyro meat on the rotating spit, as well as a beef tenderloin, and an herb chicken on a skewer (souvlaki). You can have them on pita bread or in a combo with rice and salad. All of them are excellent. Yassou is our… more

Ordered a bit of food. Unfortunately, one item was missing, and they were out of spanakopita. I called to make sure th extra feta on my gyro was charged for, as no option online. Anyway, the guy said they were out of spanakopita and offered to either replace with something else or a refund. I opted for a giant side of feta.
Anywho, called after we got our food. My daughters gyro was missing, so I gave her mine. Called the restaurant to explain it was missing. Not only was Anthony extremely apologetic, but he offered to credit the gyros.
Here's my two sense; Great customer service, both phone calls, awesome portion size for price, food tastes amazing! My Mom is a super picky eater and enjoyed the f out of her chicken souvlaki. Will definitely be back.
Thank you for the food and service!

I have always loved Greek food and one of the reasons is how fresh and healthy all their ingredients are. Yassou, however, is a big outlier to this. Their food is incredibly greasy and salty. Not sure if I simply ordered the wrong items, but I ordered the Chicken Souvlaki and My Big Fat Gyro off Uber Eats, and the food was so greasy that both styrofoam boxes and plastic bag were completely oily to touch.
I also ordered their Dolmades. I'm a big fan of stuffed grape leaves but the Dolmades were pretty underwhelming. It also came with a yellow sauce which I'm assuming is a lemon sauce, but I hesitate to say that because the sauce was so bland that I can't be sure. The sauce being so bland was a weird contrast to their otherwise heavier seasoned and oily entrees - or maybe it was bland because by the time I got to it, my taste buds were so desensitized from how heavy the entrees were?
On the bright side, portions are great relative to the price.
If you have a heavier palette, this place might be worth a try. Otherwise, there are several other Mediterranean places in town I'd recommend instead.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lady B.South Lake Tahoe, CA018933Apr 10, 2024
We gave Yassou another shot, but the food (souvlaki plates) was okay at best. It almost tasted like it was lacking love.
The tzatziki was very watery which is unusual for a Greek spot and the baklava is just straight awful and soggy... 10/10 would NOT recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 404182304Jan 11, 2024
Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - we ordered the Gyro Plate and a Mediterranean Pizza. The food is absolutely delicious!! We decided to try the Mediterranean pizza which was just mozzarella, romano cheese, and a tomato sauce. While very simple ingredients, it was fluffy, earthy, and cheesy that worked so well together. I can completely see this as a pizza coming out of a home oven. The gyro plate was thin strips of beef and lamb with rice, pita bread, tzatziki sauce, with a Greek salad. The beef and lamb were seasoned well and moist without being oily, the rice was fluffy and flavorful, and the salad so light and refreshing. While the pita bread was good, it wasn't outstanding like all the other items.
Service: 5/5 - very friendly service and he was patient despite how busy the shop was. He did give us a heads up that it'll take a bit longer for the food, but we were happy to wait seeing how busy they were.
Ambiance: 5/5 - extremely clean shop with a few tables and chairs. We realized halfway through eating that there's another room on the side with additional chairs and table. While the shop had a black and white theme, they had blue lights running through that gave it a very cozy feel.
Value for price: 5/5 - yummy food and very friendly service. We think this place is much better than Meraki down the street. Note that good food does take some more time to prepare though!Helpful 1Thanks 1Love this 2Oh no 0 - Mar 12, 20241 check-in
Chicken was well seasoned. The beef was good but the chicken was better.. The fries were perfectly Crispy but could have used more feta for the price. The rice was Crispy but the bottom of the to go container was a little greasie. The salad was delicious and did not need any dressing. The pita was good but I was sad to know it was packaged and not baked fresh. We will definalty will go back they had a large menu. The service was a 20 minutes waite which was the estimated time.

I will always make the drive to Yassou simply because the customer service is always great and the food is consistently delish. I still get the same Mini Soulvaki plate all these years later! The tuna is also really good!

Yassou is a great place to try Greek food! This place was my first introduction to Greek food a long time ago and now I'm a Greek food fanatic. I came with a bunch of my friends and we all had a great time.
The employees were very nice and patient. Since it was my first time to try Greek food, they were very patient with me and my friends to decide what to order. It wasn't too busy during a weekday lunch when we went. It was a reasonable amount of time that our food got to us and it seemed like they cook it fresh. The vibe of the place feels very clean and authentic. They had pictures of Greece hanging around, as well as some plants. I really love how the decorated the restaurant.
Now for the food. I had the gyros plate. The gyro meat (a mix of beef and lamb) was so tasty. They give you a side of rice, salad, pita bread, and of course tzatziki sauce. Super delicious! The whole meal felt really healthy but filling at the same time. Everything I had was amazing and I would go back again in a heartbeat.

This review is wayyyyyyy overdue! I've been coming here for a while now but only recently realized I haven't reviewed them...so here it is. CONSISTENCY... that's the one word I'm use to describe this place. Every restaurant can get it right sometimes but to get it right EVERY TIME? I've tried almost everything on the menu and it's a thumbs up but that rice is addictive! They run great lunch specials but call ahead because they get really busy... rightfully so

The best Greek restaurant that I've been to in all my years of living here. Excellent customer service, food is top notch, establishment is clean. I brought my group of out of town coworkers and they praised the selection. I go as often as possible.

Yassou Greek Grill Cafe is my new favorite Greek food restaurant. I really enjoyed the food. I ordered a delicious gyro with lamb and the classic toppings. It was served hot. Although, it was extremely busy when I was there they checked up on me as I was waiting. I knew they didn't forget about my order and that's always a good feeling.
This is a perfect spot for lunch. Casual and clean place meant to be spent with family, friends, and/or coworkers.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
