Had breakfast here with my cousin and her boyfriend yesterday morning - there was hardly anyone here when we arrived at around 10:45 - two other tables aside from us - so it was quiet and pleasant and not at all loud or crowded.

Our waitress was friendly and answered menu questions as best she could but I think some of my detailed questions did catch her off guard.

I chose the veggie quiche with an upcharge of $1 for a side of fruit. The quiche was actually a pretty small piece but was good - if not a bit too cheesy - and the side of fruit was a good call. It was served in a large glass with a ton of fruit and a sugar rim - very yummy and worth the $1. Maybe one of the best fruit sides I've ever had.

My cousin ordered the tuna app and fries which looked yummy while her beau ordered the Salmon Bennie and I had a bit - a generous portion for $12 but the salmon was really fishy tasting - not to my taste.

The inside is cute and has a vintage diner feel - the lunch/dinner menu looked ok. Prices were fair - I paid and for four people it was $59.

I could come back for a quick bite - but it wasn't something that blew me away.

I went to Xtra's cafe Saturday night for the first time. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they have happy hour seven days a week with good discounts on drafts and cocktails. They have a good drink menu and the food looked pretty good as well.

I dabbled with the chips and salsa as well as the pigs in a blanket but did not dive in any further than that. The chips were delicious and had a crisp quality which I really admired. The pigs in a blanket weren't bad at all.

It was pretty crowded for a Saturday night so the service was a little slow and that was my only real complaint. I am interested in going back to try a full meal.

The staff here were friendly and attentive. My friend and I had desserts and cocktails, just for fun! The space itself is a nice space, with outdoor seating that overlooks Cary St when the weather is nice.

Have eaten at Xtra's many times. The service is always good. A nice selection of beers but more beers and local beers on draft may be a thought for improvement.

Nice flat bread pizzas. The prosciutto and goat is always my favorite. Although they have full entrees the menu does offer more lighter selections if you are not in the mood for a big meal.

My drink - a funky mojito with peace and some other stuff I don't recall was delicious! The food was also pretty good, just a really small portion which featured quinoa and a fish of sorts.

Went to lunch here with my mom when she visited my brother and I at school. It's a great, traditional lunch place. I had quesadillas which were A-OK! I wish there was something more special to report about this place, the food is great and the atmosphere is fine as well!
If anything, we sat on the balcony which was a cute spot with a great view of Carytown.

So this place is my "ole reliable" for brunch. I have come here probably more than 25 times and have NEVER had to wait. The food is also consistently good. I'm not gonna boost and say it's great, but it's solid. They also have a decent deal on mimosa pitchers and bloody mary's. My faaavorite thing on the menu - and the only brunch item I will say is GREAT - is the fried chicken sandwich. Its on toasted sour dough, with cheddar, scrambled eggs, bacon and beautifully buttermilk fried chicken. Sometimes I try and eat healthier and I'll order something else, but forreal do yourself a favor and order the friggin' sandwich.

I went here for a girls night and we all really enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant. To get into the restaurant you have to walk up a steep flight of stairs. I did not see an elevator so I recommend calling and checking if you need one. They have a small patio with large doors so you can sit at an indoor table but still get a breeze and fresh air. There is lots of space to accommodate large groups while still not feeling crowded.

They have a trivia night which we joined in. Not many people showed up to participate so that worked to our advantage because we were terrible!
In the middle of each table are strips of paper with conversation starters. This would be a good place for a date with someone you're meeting online or a blind date.

The food wasn't bad but it wasn't noteworthy or special in any way either. Their focus is on the environment and experience over the food. If you're looking for a place that's good for spending time with people I'd recommend Xtra's try somewhere els if your looking for quality cuisine.

I rarely eat grits out. Simply because restaurants can't get it right. That was until this morning. I promise you these grits will take you back to your child hood, yes there that good.
