First off, you ain't P. Diddy okay?
You can't go changing your name 100 times just because you're bored and don't like the reviews you're getting. Its been Hanwoori, its been Seoul Korean Bbq, its Woori Kalbi, its changed names so many times and under new management more times than the number of boxers that I own. (mind you I don't own that many cause I don't like wearing underwear, tmi? oh well)
I like my meat free and loose, you got me?
Keep it coming (pun intended)
So its $19.95 for AYCE dinner, they have a $15.95 ayce lunch. Considering I don't have to drive all the way to K-town, the gas it takes to get there makes up the difference in price.
List of Offerings for Dinner:
jumuluck- wtf? dunno what that is....
Beef short plate
cow intestine
spicy pork-meh I'll pass
beef brisket- I like brisket, so it was delicious.
ribeye steak- my favorite of the night, it was tasty, order MORE!http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/NslPxncmmPrbHHyurscpyA?select=qs74qCxEaR6hvs0piEnacg
bulgogi- I never really like this at ayce places...
bbq chicken- I never order chicken...but somehow they always bring it..
black pork belly- meh, it was okay.
steamed egg- no me gusta
tofu stew
salad
fried dumplings- yum, order these as you sit down, they take awhile.
The servers were actually quite amiable and accommodating. A few actually understood Engiss as well (no I did not misspell that word). Pretty solid option for Korean bbq, especially in the valley. It was clean, brightly lit, relatively nice staff, I'll most likely be back if I'm too lazy to drive to K-town.Helpful 49Thanks 0Love this 55Oh no 0 - Angela S.La Crescenta, CA133Mar 5, 2016

DISRESPECTFUL OWNER! BURNED MY THUMB. OWNER TURNED UP THE HEAT TO RUSH US OUT OF OUR TABLE!!!
You have 1 hour and 30 minutes to eat- I know Gen BBQ has 2 hours. But that is besides the point. Oh and besides this review, I went to Gen BBQ the first time before going to this shitty place and I need to make an excellent review about that place but wasting my time to review this place.
Ok 1 hour and 30 minutes is not my complaint, but the fact that my boyfriend and I were rushed below that time to finish our food.
Waiters and the owners are bipolar. I say that because at first, the lady upfront, which I figured was the owner was super friendly and turned sour when it got busy. I knew all along that the guy sitting near us was the owner because a waitress asked him if we could move. I wanted to move, because there was no point in sitting at a 6 chair table. Anyway, he/owner had a stern face and the waitress just gave us a worried look to sit where we were. Another reason that they're bipolar is that the waiters were super nice on getting us our meats. They quickly changed their vibe towards the end as well. I think the vibe changed because their overbearing boss started to freak them out illuminati style....
And another thing, there was a Korean whore waitress with a lot of eyeshadow, eyeing my boyfriend. She had a huge smile for him and he of course exchanged no biggie. But she just looked at me like whatever. I ignored it knowing that my Filipino BF is cute. So she did it agin, this time I caught her giving him another smile behind my back. She saw me, which made her quickly change her face. You're not serving us, nor will you earn tips with all that god damn eyeshadow unless you're working for the Deja Vu strip club. I bet you're the owner's daughter by looking at your masculine face - I bet you look like a guy without it. What a nice place to work at to buy your UD Naked palette. Ok, let's continue.....drum roll......
VERY IMPORTANT PART, READERS: OK! Well a long line formed at the entrance of people waiting for a table. So we had a half hour left to eat- KEY POINT HERE***
Then, IMPORTANT PART HERE, READERS!!: *******THE OWNER CAME TO OUR TABLE AND CRANKED UP THE HEAT, EXTREMELY HAZARDOUS! As I cooked my meat, the fire crackled and started to scorch 3 inch flames above my meat. IT WAS SMOKING! So was my boyriend's and my TEMPER! We both lost our appetite and our meat burned!!!!
I WAS RUSHED! I knew this for a fact because there was a party of 5 or more sitting in the waiting area. It also felt really sad seeing the owner's wife look at us with disgrace as we were eating. We were at a table for 6! Didn't the asshole want us to sit here??? So I rushed eating!!! ANOTHER IMPORTANT PART: I quickly grabbed my meat and the hot oil dropped on my other thumb that was holding the bowl of rice.
What a nice way to spend my $20.99, more like $45 total to go to an asshole owner! Gen BBQ will make you feel worthless! And I'm sorry, but you don't do that to customers.
MY FIRST AND LAST TRIP TO THIS KOREAN BBQ PLACE! And I didn't go on Yelp to check the reviews... WTH! FACE PALM!!
And I know you owners will go to church the following day. Here's my two cents to you, my review on Yelp. I say, figure out what's wrong and get your knowledge on business management because it's lacking! And make booths for people that are a party of 2, just in case it gets busy all of a sudden! GOD BLESS YOU BOTH!

For our-three-ajumma-gathering in valley,
we're going to Shik Do Rak as usual, I thought.
My friend suggested us to go to the bbq place next to Kabuki.
Was that HanWooRi? Or Korean BBQ? She didn't even know the new name, something like , she said.
That restaurant has saessak bibmbap which is really good, she said.
All of her friends are going there for lunch special. ..
There were large flower stands for congratulating grand opening at the entrance! New owner thing..
How many times they changed the names, I can't even count..
One time it was the best Korean restaurant in the valley.
That must be a long time ago.
Korean people in valley, they follow the rumors.
When someone says Duksujang is good, they all go there. Right now, I heard Shik Do Rak and Woori are competing for the top.
Saessak bibimbab was excellent! It costs only $5.99 for lunch!
There were a few dishes that price range for lunch special, even on Sat and Sunday, one waitress told us!
You can't even buy the materials for that money!
Sawssak bibmbaq is kinda vegetarian dish. No meat or egg in it.
Red fish eggs in the middle were pretty fresh. The usual chopped lettuce was not covering the other important saessaks!
We also had spicy fish soup which was also $5.99, that was good.
The same soup maybe in a larger bowl costs $ 15.99 for dinner, waitress told us...
How long they can keep the level and price, I don't know,
though right now is the time to go to this restaurant.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Sigmund W.Sherman Oaks, CA433103278Mar 14, 2016
Terrible service, unimpressive food
We decided to come here because all of the other places nearby had a long wait. After the experience I wished I'd waited for some where else.
As soon as I walked in I noticed it was pretty busy so I asked a man in the feont how long the wait was. An older gentleman who was talking to others looked around walked through the dining room and then never came back. I approached him and asked again and he responded "no wait". Right there I thought, "well sorry to bother you." When we're seated we got a younger waitress who seemed like a college student. She wasn't very warm or friendly and was extremely unattentive. We repeatedly had to flag her down to change our grill, fill our drinks, and get more food. Then all of a sudden she was gone. No, "Hey I'm heading out so such and such will take over." She just dissappear ed after her poor service. An older woman took over and was a bit better but this was the last 10 minutes we were there.
The food was less than impressive. There's more sides and more options for less money at other Korean bbqs.
With the bad service and weak food I will not go back. Go somewhere else and just endure the wait. This place is a pass.

(+) Bulgogi is my favorite, they also serve ribeye, pork belly, beef belly, brisket, spicy pork, beef tongue, chicken etc.
(+) Pretty good kbbq in the valley... near my work but forget about lunch since I'd smell so pungent in my afternoon meetings.
(+) Service was actually decent, there were a lot of waitresses and they were nice!
AYCE dinner is $19.95. Comes with other interesting options like steamed egg, bean paste soup. $4 more for seafood which includes eel, shrimp, and something else.
Sorry, about to pass out from food coma... I sure ate my fill. Oh yeah...
HINT: turn up the heat on the grill (knob on front of table) to cook the meat faster and of course, don't load up too much on drinks, rice, salad, and banchan hahaha
HINT^2: You get 10% off your bill if you check-in on Yelp (doesn't apply to any specials or AYCE lunch)

I think this is the fourth or fifth time that I've been to this restaurant. They changed their name since the third time I was there, so I'm still trying to get that hammered out.
The staff is very friendly, although somewhat busy. They float back and forth and any one of them that passes by, if you ask for something, they don't go through the usual crap of calling out to another server that THEIR table needs something.
If you ask for onions or mushrooms for your grill, they're very quick to bring it out, as with all the meats. The size of their steak is pretty big compared to when other restaurants bring out little strips. They bring out a big slab that you can cut yourself! If you need any additional menu items or side orders, they bring it out within a heartbeat.
This most recent visit, one of the servers took charge of our area. He was very friendly and he even joked that he was pretty good because he spoke English (Which actually was true, this guy was very good at his job).
The restaurant is very clean, with a little wait if you have a large group, or if it's packed during the dinner rush. The servers changed our grill three times while we were there, bringing out a fresh restock of mushrooms each time.
Their downfall: Most of the servers speak limited English, which although typical of most Asian restaurants, makes it very hard to communicate. Soda is not fountain style, they bring out a can and a cup of ice.
Look out for the so called "Ninja" man. We think he's the owner, but this guy pops in and out of the entire restaurant like a shadow. Very friendly staff! Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area and are hankering for all you can eat KBBQ. The Pork Belly keeps calling my name!

This place is alright. They have AYCE for a decent set price. You have to come with an Asian to get some sort of respect and decent service (sorry to say). The utensils were not clean. Got them replaced. The food was decent...or maybe because I hadn't had KBBQ in forever.
The ladies didn't seem like they wanted to help. I saw them giving this man who was eating alone a hard time. I felt so bad, I almost asked him if he wanted to eat with us, so we can talk about the place together. Ha.
Seriously, I would just save my appetite and drive back down to the South Bay where I can get some good quality meat and side dishes with some friendly waiters/waitresses!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Sep 2, 2015
I've heard mixed things about this place, mostly negative, about how the staff working here are kind of... let's say difficult. I came here twice with my dad's brother's family and the staff are accommodating but also don't really hear some of our requests. My aunt says it's because they're tired and probably are working long shifts, so there's that. But our food came out in a timely fashion and we got plenty of side dishes and meat. They checked up on us a lot in the beginning but then at some point you have to specifically call them with the button because they won't bother coming to you for a while, and we just assume it's because we went through their meats too quickly and they're trying to be sparing with their meat. I think that's expected of an AYCE KBBQ joint though. I still would like to get all I can eat...
Bathrooms were clean. Tables were clean. Meat seemed fresh and quality. Service could have been better but everyone has their days. If I want the best KBBQ I guess I'd have to go down to K-Town.

Just had dinner here the first time(mostly because the Japanese restaurant that we were gonna go has a wait for 30-40 mins so we decided to give this place a try).
It's more like a 3 1/2 star actually.
The place definitely can use some update. But I guess for Korean BBQ all you can eat with a price like this, you really can't be too picky about things like decor.
Service was pretty good, this young Korean guy who's our server was pretty friendly and attentive.
The quality of the meat wasn't that great, but again for the price I really did not expect too much anyway.
You can also order not AYCE from the menu as well. A lot of seating so there was no wait at all when we went there(7:30pm on Saturday)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
