Food is great .. get the lamb ribs .. and both sultanis .. to die for!
Decore is awesome .. too bad they removed most of it
Be patient with their service .. they are overworked but working very hard to go above and beyond!
Love the place! highly recommended .. if you are impatient just order to go!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 2, 2022
Really great meat and portion sizes! This place would be a hit if only it were located somewhere more convenient. This gem is situated in Laguna Hills Mall where most restaurants have already died or passed on.
The serving staff was super attentive and nice and catered to our every needs. All the food came quickly and definitely one of the most delicious kabobs I have ever had. The portion sizes are also fairly larger than Panini Kabob and anywhere else.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Nov 21, 2021Updated review
FILTHY! RAT RUNNING IN RESTAURANT!!!
On Sunday at 9:15 pm as we were having dinner at WKR and we saw a large RAT run next to our table from the front of the restaurant towards the back. The ladies at the booth next to us screamed as well while the staff completely ignored the commotion. We waved for our server and asked for the manager, the manager never came for us to report what we saw. We told the server that we saw a rat and he didn't look surprised at all and just said he'll let the manager know!
This is disgusting!! We will never ever set foot in this place again!!!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Oct 30, 2021Previous reviewService on Saturday night was slow but very nice personnel. Great complimentary appetizer! Thank you!
We ordered three dishes: 1/2+1/2 tahdig, cheeseburger, and beef sheesh kabob. The sheesh kabob was the best dish as it was veryyyyy tender. However, the portion compared to the Barg kabob is smaller. If you are super hungry and don't want to fill yourself with rice, order a side of koobideh. We would definitely order the dish again.
Now the burger, the beef was the same they use in beef koobideh kabob and it tasted amazing. However, the rest of the sandwich ingredients fell short in quality, especially the bread. The bread had a very artificial flavor (like margarine). The lettuce was wilted, pickles were very soft and lacked any crunch or flavor. If the bread was a better quality bun I would still order it again.
The 1/2+1/2 Tahdig: generous portion. Our tahdig was very soft and the stews were not our favorite (especially the ghormeh sabzi). I'd give the Sabzi 2 stars and the gheymeh stew 3.5 stars.
I agree with other reviewers that the bay decor was bizarre and I wasn't sure what the these was.
Overall if we are judging by kabob quality alone (which is what the restaurant is now known for) then the food is solid. We will come back specifically for kabob dishes. - Mar R.Laguna Niguel, CA4262Jul 21, 2022Updated review

I loved EVERYTHING we ordered... the hummus, salad, beef, chicken- it was all delicious!
When you first sit down, they greet you with a plate that has some cheese, walnuts, cucumber, tomatoes, olives, and fresh mint and more- it is fabulous!
Try this place, you'll be glad you did, let's all keep them in business! - Jun 12, 2021
Woodfire Kabob Restaurant is a massive restaurant located at the Laguna Hills mall. They have a huge dining area as well as outdoor seating and can easily accommodate 100+ guests. I had attended an event here a week ago and was impressed with the food served, so I decided to visit them for lunch and see how they fared. All the meats served here are HALAL.
Kashk-E Bademjan ($9) - This appetizer is a roasted eggplant dip made with yogurt whey, besides eggplant. It goes great with some flat bread and this was the best thing I ate here at lunch! I however thought the pricing was on the high side given the portion size.
Soltani ($26) - This came with barg (filet mignon) kabob and koobideh kabob (choice of ground chicken or ground beef). It was served with basmati rice and grilled vegetables. Unfortunately the barg kabob was overcooked and on the drier side. It also didn't have much flavor. The koobideh kabob was just ok as well and not as juicy or flavorful as some other places. Persian rice was about average compared to other Persian places.
Chicken Kabob Boneless ($17) (dark meat) - My friend ordered this and he really enjoyed it the flavor and juiciness of the chicken. I tried this dish a week ago here at an event hosted at the restaurant and I was blown away by how tender and delicious the chicken kabob was. I don't think I have had
better at a Persian restaurant.
Overall, I was not really impressed with the food at lunch. The prices are quite a bit higher than other Persian restaurants in the area and many of the items I tried were just ok. If you do visit, I recommend getting the boneless chicken kabob (dark meat).Helpful 241Thanks 0Love this 226Oh no 0 - Paul M.Costa Mesa, CA52934Jul 17, 2022Updated review
You've got to give this place a try! Delicious kabobs, lamb chops are super tasty, ask for them to be cooked medium-rare, soo good. They have amazing soup, we tried the barley. The grilled veggies are done properly and tender to eat.
The group plates are perfect for a party. We gotten them a few times and were very pleased.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0Dec 31, 2021Previous reviewGreat food at reasonable prices. Kind and prompt service. A DEFINITE GREAT FIND!!! Come taste great food!

We were in the mood for Mediterranean food and saw it was highly recommend on Yelp, so had to give it a try! Our experience lived up to the expectations. We ordered tadig half and half, shish kabob plate, 1 extra beef koobideh kabob, baba ghenoosh. Tadig featured ample crispy rice - ghemei and ghormeh sabzi were both flavorful. Baba ghenoosh was smokey, creamy. Beef koobideh and kabob was tender and deliciously spiced. Sizeable portions overall though perhaps could have had more protein to rice ratio. Kabob veggies were nicely cooked, nice slight char. Service was attentive, frequently checking in with us.

The food is pretty tasty, clean and the service is very good. I recommend this restaurant.
The dual kabob meal was my choice. It's worth the trip. Lot's of parking. Price is worth it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Jan 3, 2021
Had gone there for my husband's birthday but because of Covid we weren't able to dine in... however we ate outside in their seating area
The hostess was very attentive and polite
We ordered their beef kaboodeh meal, chicken kaboodeh and soltani meal along with French fries and dough drink..
They meals came with grilled vegetables and and saffron rice
The meat was soft and succulent.. like melt in your mouth soft
The portions were pretty huge
It came with sumac sachet and butter cubes as side condiments
We had ordered their dough(yogurt drink) it was sooooooooo goood
We had ordered their fries as a side ... they were good but the portion was sorta small
I would definitely come back again Once covid is overHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
