Sue is a master at color and haircuts. She's the best - I usually just go in wanting a change and she does something great without me even having any ideas

I am writing this for my service on May 3rd for a shag cut and dimension highlight color. Well sadly, I am even more disappointed on how it is growing out. The color was great. But the cut was not what I asked for and it wasn't a shag cut with curtain bangs. I sent Only 4 reference pictures that I'm sure she didn't look at. I had them labeled. I had to come back to have it fixed but it still wasn't a shag cut. It was good enough but I don't think the care was there for the price I paid.

After 4+ years with my previous stylist/salon, I was looking for a change and was understandably nervous about it. Turns out that I had no reason to be nervous because Kelsey is amazing! I went to Kelsey for a balayage, cut, and extensions reinstall and was 110% impressed. My hair has not looked this good and felt this healthy in a long time. Kelsey is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, passionate, and talented. Not even 24 hours later and I had received multiple compliments on my hair from strangers.

While at the salon, I was treated to extras such as a hand massage and hot towel. The salon itself is small and intimate and everyone is so friendly and welcoming.

Highly, highly recommended!

Sue is a sweetheart and I looooove the cut she gave me - I chopped almost 8 inches off but she made the whole thing quick and painless. Unfortunately due to our overlapping vacation schedules, I did have to go see someone else to have my color corrected as my roots turned out a bit warmer than I like, given they weren't toned after the highlights. That said, I left in much better shape than I showed up in and I enjoyed our time together!

Sue has 20+ years of experience cutting hair and it shows. I have wavy/curly hair and when I've gone to see other hairstylists it's been a bit anxiety inducing. I've wondered about the outcome and with Sue it's never in doubt. She is a HAIR MAGICIAN. It's like she sees the best that your hair can be then nimbly and easily cuts your hair to reflect that.

Not only do I love my haircuts from Sue this is the only time in my life I've gotten haircuts and they grow out well. Like, seriously, I didn't know how good it could be! 12/10 recommend

I came to Wisp after reading several reviews and recommendations for a haircut and color. To say Sue met my expectations would be a understatement. After multiple "okay" experiences with balayage at other salons, I was amazed at how Sue went above and beyond to make sure I got the color I asked for. Along with color, I was nervous for a big chop but, again, she did an incredible job and I was very happy with the results. I will definitely be returning to Wisp for more hair fun!!!

I emailed Sue in full desperation mode. I had not had a professional haircut in over a year and was rocking the kind of shabby chic look that isn't okay over for anyone over the age of 20. Within a day, Sue had responded with a link to her calendar and I booked the next available appointment! Wisp is inside the Sola Salon Studio suite, which if you are unfamiliar is a giant suite with individual shops, a genius idea. You cam get your hair, nails and eyebrows down from different stylists conveniently located in one place!

Sue was so incredibly helpful. I sat and took my hair down and she immediately went to work figuring out what I wanted to do, what frustrated me about my hair, etc. (aka all the questions you want anyone cutting your hair to ask). The entire time she was wonderful and hilarious, alternating complaints about traffic to teaching me who to use a curling iron (yeah I know, it seems like I thing I should already know, but I don't).

If you are new to the area and don't know where to go, or have lived here forever but aren't loving where you currently go - come to Sue! Her calendar is busy, so don't wait until the last minute.

Being a military spouse from a small town, it was overwhelming finding a new hair stylist. I've gone to several salons in the Alexandria/McLean area, and I never felt 100% satisfied until after my visit at Wisp, and (finally) I'm happy that I've found a stylist that I can trust and stick with for the remainder of my time here.

Here's why I recommend Wisp Salon:

1. Sue is amazing. She is extremely knowledgeable and knows just about everything involving hair. She gave me the hair that I've always thought was unachievable and only existed on Pinterest or by just pure luck. I went from full highlights to a full sombre/balayage, and I got my long bob reshaped (after being messed up by a prior hair dresser-yikes!)

2. Sue will go out of her way to help you. She didn't just fix my hair, she showed me how easy it was to style it, which was amazing to me, considering I find it challenging to even paint my nails on my own, let alone style my hair. Finally, I'll be able to give the straighter and hair ties a rest.

3. The atmosphere of the salon is fantastic, and there's even plenty of free, off street parking. Usually, I'm always anxious before getting my hair done by a new stylist (considering my prior experiences with reputable salons with awesome Yelp reviews). Although I was nervous at first, Sue made it as comfortable as possible, and the time flew by.

Basically, if anyone decides to go to Wisp, you'll be grateful you did. If only I had gone to Sue sooner, and I could have avoided a lot of the problems I've had with other stylists. It's always comforting to know you're going to someone who legitimately cares, and that you'll never have to worry about how your hair will turn out. Trust me. I've followed Yelp reviews before, gone to reputable salons, and Sue is by far the best out of any of them.

Sue is a wonderful and efficient stylist; I would recommend her to everyone.
This was my first time going and she masterfully executed exactly what I asked for with great skill and precision.

My hair can make or break my whole day. I searched and researched and waited 2 months to get in to have Sue Scott evaluate and reccommend a "hair plan"and Wisp is WELL worth the wait!
Sue knows hair and has mine headed down the right path.
Wisp is in a very unique setting where independent hair stylists are in individual shops and masters of their domain. They call the shots for decor and Sue's Wisp Salon is extremely Chic!
Sue is an expert in all aspects of "hairology". She is confident, efficient and all around adorable!!
