Q:
What do they provide for mom and baby , referring to things like diapers , wipes, post partum underwear ect?
A:
When I delivered there in May (for the second time), I was given disposable underwear, pads, down there spay, nightgown & a peri bottle. For my Baby, I got diapers, receiving blanket, comb, nasal bulb, hat, Vaseline, wipes & the mini (I mean mini)… more

I do not know. I'm sure if you contact the hospital they will have an answer for you.

I have a 50/50 love hate relationship with the food in the food court. Some days the food is amazing and some days it's not. The consistency is just not there.
Some days for breakfast, the scrambled eggs are not fully cooked and other days they are. Sometimes the coffee at Starbucks is good and some days it's not. I actually had to stop eating breakfast because it just wasn't consistent. Lunch is actually pretty good. My fav is when they do Nacho Days. I love the salad bar & the fruit bar the most.
If you're an employee you get a discount but if not it's still cheap in price compared to many other places.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 4Oh no 0 - Timothy C.San Francisco, CA02Mar 27, 2024
We went to Winnie Palmer Hospital because my fiancée was cramping and bleeding. They performed a procedure to clean her out. I believe, as a result of that procedure being performed poorly, we lost our child. My fiancée miscarried 11pm at night on the toilet. It was horrific. Our child fell in the toilet full of blood while the umbilical cord was still attached. She was crying and screaming but could not leave the toilet because every time she attempted to move our 15/16 baby's legs would emerge and break her heart over and over again until the paramedics made it. The worst part is the drove us back to Winnie Palmer Hospital where she was admitted and a D&C was performed. In my opinion, they did an even worst job with the D&C as we had to come back less than a day after she was discharged due to excessive bleeding leading to a hemoglobin level of 7.4. To top that off, once she was discharged for that she had an issue with the vein the inserted the IV. The CNO, Mary Rodgers told us to come in and the would be expecting us and the would take care of it. WE got hit with another large ER copay and our insurance company got billed. Again! In my experience WPH gives a poor quality of care and is all about the dollar. In my opinion, if you want your child to remain alive, choose a different facility. I am exploring a class action lawsuit against Winnie Palmer Hospital. I have found 6 women with similar circumstances. If you have gone to WPH in the last 2-3 years and have left out without your child, please reach out to me and share your story. We will hold them accountable!

Let me clarify that this review is for services over the years. I first visited Winnie Palmer for my daughter's birth. After her birth I had some issues with water retention and since it was within the first six weeks, I went like 3 more times to their emergency room. I also received breastfeeding consultation for almost 3 months through Winnie Palmer in their first floor. Finally, as recently as a few months ago I had to have a minor surgery that was completed at Winnie as well. There's a reason I keep going back and a reason for their reputation... The quality of their care, their dedication to you and your baby's wellbeing, and services provided in general, are like no other. The facility is beautiful, rooms are comfortable and even the "hospital food" is pretty great!! I would definitely recommend Winnie Palmer for women's and babies! They have made bad experiences not seem so horrible and their staff seem to genuinely care.

Several friends had RAVED about Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital (OHWP), and when it came time to select a hospital to deliver my baby at, it made sense to go with what my friends and OBGYN had recommended.
We arrived after midnight, and there was not a valet parking service running. There is self service parking free at OHWP, which can be confused with another parking lot that charges in the area. If you have questions, ask one of the OHWP staff members. I was routed to triage, and I had to go through the usual hospital paperwork (consent to treat and business paperwork). My husband dropped off our hospital bags and parked while I handled this stuff. Note there aren't any carts so be prepared to carry around what you bring. We were cleared to go upstairs to a hospital bed for the remainder of the night. Meals are included for the patient, and you can ordered an additional three trays for $5 each. This includes an entree, two sides, a dessert, and a drink. The food was REALLY good.
If you're not feeling the hospital tray, there is a Café downstairs that is open from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. There are grab and go items all day, including from 3 a.m. to 7 a.m.
The hospital staff were very attentive on the overnight shift (and throughout my stay). Call lights were promptly responded to within minutes.
In the morning, I was promptly transferred over to the labor and delivery (L&D) floor. Caroline was amazing, and my husband felt bad for how often he had to call her in because of my monitor or to help adjust me. They allow two visitors in the L&D floor, and just be prepared to ask one to leave if you get an epidural. The anesthesiology team was fantastic, and I am appreciative of how they helped manage my pain as best as possible. My baby's positioning made it that much harder. Well, after many hours, I delivered my baby with a team of eight people in the room. They immediately took vitals, measurements, and ensured the baby was taken care of. My OBGYN and Jennifer kept an eye on me, and once we were given the all clear, we were wheeled over to another floor for recovery.
I am so grateful to the day and night nurses and CNAs for the next two days. There's so many to name, and my next step will be to write OHWP to thank them. Not only did they help keep an eye on my little one, but they made sure I was good. They kept water on my bedside table, made sure to grab post-partum recovery items, and helped answer my questions as a new mom ("Is this normal?"). They had on site pediatrician to start monitoring our baby before the first appointment with our pediatrician. (You will need to have a pediatrician selected before dischage.) They also have a lactation consultant if you have questions for them while at the hospital.
On discharge, they packed up a bag of must have items for my recovery, as well as a bag of diapers and wipes. They do have a cart to take your items out in one go, and someone will accompany you to your car. The car seat will be installed and tested before you're allowed to get on your way. I cannot say enough good things about OHWP. Thank you for providing five-star care for such an important day for me and my family.
Recommendations:
- Bring snacks if you're particular, but the OHWP menu is solid.
- Highly recommend you bring a pillow and blanket for your significant other/guest because the one provided did not offer support.
- Extra long phone chargers are a MUST.
- Bring toiletries for you and your guest. They will have some things, but it's good to have on hand.
- Try to pre-order your food the day before. Otherwise, you'll be waiting on hold for awhile during the breakfast rush.
- The OHWP hospital cup has been my favorite thing to drink out of so don't leave without it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cheryl S.San Francisco, CA01Feb 7, 2024
I'd like to start by saying that my daughter had her birthing experience there. I'd like to add that I am a Nurse. She was induced at 4:00 a.m. when we were told she needed to be at the hospital at 1:00 a.m. is the summary especially being a nurse for 28 years.
She labored for 36 hours, kept her in a bed no walking at all. When she delivered vaginally, the baby was nine close to 9 lb. I guess they do not believe in episiotomies because my daughter ripped terribly. I would never recommend this hospital to ANYONE! And may I add because she lied in bed so long she developed blood clots. Thank God I wasn't there due to a travel assignment in California, because if I were, OH BOY! And they never discussed a C-section. Ladies that are having babies please pick another hospitalHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Deborah M.San Francisco, CA01Feb 6, 2024
I want to start saying that they literally ruined my birth experience. I was supposed to have an induction but my water broke the night before. We went to the hospital and when we did the check-in they took our insurance card and never mentioned anything about not being covered. ( Orlando health already had our insurance on file since January 1st). I did 24 hours labor, at 9.5 cm I had to wait 4 hours for the midwife and doctor to come and check on me after I told them I was exhausted and in pain. Finally the doctor came and I ended up with a C section. After only 4 days, at the time of the discharged, they told us that Orlando health does not take our insurance leaving us to deal with this HUGE amount of money that we don't have.
I left the hospital on tears and no one is gonna do anything.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1023972041Sep 18, 2022
I delivered my first child here almost 2 weeks ago and I could not have asked for a better experience. Not only was this my first child, but it was my first time being admitted to a hospital. Everyone I met at Winnie Palmer from registration to nursing and security to pediatricians were amazing. Having a baby is such a happy time, but it can also be a scary time. You may go into the hospital with a birth plan, but how your labor progresses and the competency of the staff are ultimately responsible for a large part of your birthing experience. Every staff member that I spoke to was friendly, kind, knowledgeable, and compassionate.
During my stay I was visited by a Lactation consultant and she was very helpful showing me how to breastfeed and answering all of my questions. They have a very helpful, supportive class called Mother baby TEA for moms of infants who are less than 3 months old. Before you leave the hospital they even ensure that you know how to properly install and use your car seat. If I have another child or I'm ever asked about where they should go to give birth I would recommend Winnie Palmer.

I cant begin to tell you how happy I was with choosing this hospital for the second time. It was between this one and Osceola regional and I'm glad I chose Winnie.
They took care of the baby, my husband, and me and kept checking up on us. Even with changing rounds the nurses and staff were very respectful on coming into the room. My experience was very different at triage as I came in with very heavy contractions and I went from 4cm to 10cm very quickly and they all took care of me at the speed of light. I have never seen a team work so fast as they did for me to get me from triage to delivery in no time. From the little that I remember, I feel like I flew from one floor to the other.
All my nurses were wonderful and I wish I can remember their names because they all deserve the credit.
I know Libbie and Alec were amazing
And nurse assistant we're all amazing as well.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Jun 17, 2023
We waited for over 3 hours to be seen by a doctor who just told us she would refer us to a surgeon, acted like our situation was no big deal only to have every referral be surgeons that didn't accept our insurance. HUGE WASTE of time. We should've just gone to Advent Health in the first place . Much better hospital. The entrance to Winnie Palmer is beautiful but that's the jist of it. The rooms are outdated and no tvs . It's a shame that they don't renovate this old hospital. The staff seems overwhelmed and exhausted. This place is equal to going to the health department imo .

Here's the story I brought my daughter there she is 27 weeks pregnant with twins . She came to Winnie Palmer with extreme back aches and cramping she's a type 1 diabetic and she told them this . I asked about blood work as they had her on the fetal monitors for hours with no one coming to check on her . A resident came in and said we're giving u muscle relaxers no blood work so I objected and asked why the response is I'm the dr that's why ! She is know in advent health celebrations ICU in diabetic keto acidosis ! If he would have done blood work to examine the whole situation he would know !
