Willie's Chicken Shack

In town on a "workcation" and stopped in here because it is near my hotel. I originally stopped for a daiquiri and got the 3 piece chicken tenders. First, the cashier was great and she offered me samples of all the daiquiris and had a great personality. The chicken was cook (they forgot my willie sauce) but the fries were on point! I got the Mango Daiquiri and it was really good!

I would go back here especially for something quick and easy'

My wife was craving for fried chicken she ask me to look at my Yelp to from a good fried chicken joint near by.   Then my wife told there's a chicken joint near by called Willie's chicken shack then I check on my Yelp are far from the hotel to restaurant it's  just a block away.   We walk from the hotel to the restaurant just a block away when we got the restaurant was full of people inside the restaurant.  One of the staff ask us we like to order we say yes we both order two piece of chicken a piece of breast and a wing with fries and also comes with butter biscuits in the meal, then we order our drinks separately.

We sat back of the of the restaurant and waited they bring out meal.  Someone came to bring our meal,our meal were in the Box but we can smell the chicken it looks so good.  My wife went to front get some catchup and hot sauce they have Crystal hot sauce better than Tabasco hot sauce.   I took a bite of the chicken it so good the coat was season well then add some crystal hot sauce to the chicken it add more flavor to the chicken I really enjoy.  The butter biscuits was so good my wife enjoy the biscuits and the chicken.

Great late night meal / snack that hit the spot.  So Good Makes You Wanna Slap Yo Mama!

We were all just out having a good time trying to have some good late night food. A  couple hours before we ate pizza then we came to this place and it was Poppin! I know you wouldn't consider this place stereotypically French Quarter Bourbon Street authentic but man the drinks were great the service was great the people were cool, it was so cold outside that the chicken warmed my soul when my tongues taste buds first contacted the sweetness.

The ordering is in and out very simple and not too overwhelming of a menu to figure out what you actually want.

Sit down if there is room and just have a good fun time talk over some plans about what you're going to do in New Orleans the rest of the day over some alcoholic drinks that they serve sometimes as well. Enjoy this great little Goldmine Quick Stop to fill your tummy in between Big Boy meals.

Easy peezy chicken greasy!

This place was a solid 3 stars for me. It came out fresh and piping hot but it was too greasy and oily for me. The fries got soggy from the chicken grease. The was my belly is set up there was no way I could play myself and eat it. If you're anything like me then go somewhere else. I ate the chicken and with some assistance of hot sauce I ate most of it.

The biscuit was what helped this place earn 3 stars. That and the frozen drinks.

The food and drinks are amazing but the help is so incredibly rude mainly the cashier young man in the front!!  3/19/22 2:00 pm

Minus 1 star for one of the cashier's (older lady) attitudes. There were 3 lines. 1 cashier/line. She was the only cashier wearing her mask properly. As a result, she refused to take your order unless you put a mask on (which is fine). However, her coworkers and the majority of the customers were wearing masks. She had the shortest line. Customers were putting on a mask, placing their order, paying, and promptly removing it. It was senseless. The front of the establishment are doors and all doors were opened.

Minus 1 star because the fountain machine didn't work. Besides a myriad of daquiri flavors, the other beverages they sold were water and Powerade.

The biscuits are tasty; but unless you like your biscuits with a dash of cornbread (which I do not) you're not missing anything special. Church's Chicken biscuits are much better.

If you don't each chicken, they sell catfish and shrimp. It's prepared in a separate fryer than the chicken. Also, the pickled jalapeños were DELICIOUS!

Solid fast food joint. Honey biscuits are unique and the chicken is tender and tasty. I'd come back here if I needed something fast!

You want fresh fried chicken?? And a dope daiquiri for lunch ?? When I come to New Orleans this is one of my first stops.
Daiquiris are a thing in The Nola. Every spot sells them. I wouldn't say willies is the best. But they are pretty good.
I usually order the same thing . 2 piece Dark Meat with fries and my favorite part the biscuits. I order extra. (It's that good)

Would I go back ? Always
Should you? Yup !!

They don't seem capable of actually filling the orders they take. We ended up one order short after an ungodly wait. Wasn't wort the fight.

Food is great but not really worth the hassle

Got the 4pc Mixed ($19).
Chicken wasnt dry so thats a plus. I do think they oversalt it though. They def do come out hot and fresh. It was so hot I still couldnt eat it after 7 mins of having it lol. Cant really say much else about it. I didnt love it and didnt hate it. It is a lil pricy for fried chicken technically but im not sure if its comparable for other fried chicken spots in Nola.
