At first when we walked in we were not so sure.... Every other restaurant in the area was packed and this place had room to fit eight of us for immediate seating on a Saturday night. The sushi turned out to be excellent and the service was ok too...

It turned out to be a nice little find and the place was filled up by the time we left.

Food was good. We order several rolls. Service was not so great. Not because of a lack of effort on our servers part but I suspect was an issue with lack of staff and prioritization of delivery orders. Took a long time to order and for food to come out. For their price point they need to improve the in person service. The place seemed croweded because of delivery orders were filling up the sushi bar counter not from costumers inside so it was fairly quiet inside.

Nice size location that has plenty of seating. There is even a bar to sit at. Parking isn't too bad but it is bardstown road. You will mostly have to find street parking. I went early enough to where I could park in the lot behind the building.

First up, I had the ginger salad. The ginger dressing was exceptional. I ordered extra because I just love it. I also got the tempura vegetables as an appetizer. It had an 1 large onion slice, 2 mushrooms, 1 sweet potato slice, 1 zucchini slice and 1 carrot slice. The carrot was extremely thick. It was hard to bite into as well. The onion slice was like the onion was cut in on the side and had several layers. I like deep fried onions but this was not fried enough for me to just eat it. The sweet potato was the best.

For my meal, I got the super volcano sushi roll. It had cream cheese, jalapeño and crab meat inside. The top had spicy tuna and avocado. I was not a fan of the spicy tuna and avocado on top. I scrapped some of it off. I felt it was better without that on top. This was not my favorite sushi. I would not get this again.

I'll go again but try other sushi rolls. They had plenty to chose from.

This place is thriving for good reason. During these cold winter days, we opt to order for pick up and enjoy their outside dining during the spring, summer, and fall.
The rolls are pretty good and we always find plenty of options that accommodate our choices and conditions. Vegan, Gluten-Free.
We visit often and find the staff to be warm and engaged, always willing to make it right.
The only small drawback might be that parking can be a bit of a challenge due to the many other successful businesses in the area. Nothing against the business, just plan accordingly.

My partner turned me on to this place about a year ago. We've ordered to go multiple times but this was y first dine in experience. I ordered the Miso soup to start, not the best but didn't suck either. I had the 007 roll and my partner got the Crunch Munch roll, both were excellent.

Service was friendly and prompt, prices were reasonable, the bathrooms need some much needed TLC though.

Excellent restaurant with amazing food, atmosphere, and service. We got the mango and crunch munch rolls which were delicious. There are a lot of other great choices on the menu.

My friend and I went to Wild Ginger on a Sunday evening around 5:00 p.m. There was no wait! Our server was attentive and friendly. I ordered the Blueberry Mule, and it was delicious!

As for the sushi, I ordered the California Roll and The Highlander Roll with the jalapeños substituted with avocado. I am OBSESSED. It was so good, and I've been craving it all week. I will be returning.

It has been a while since I have had sushi and was very excited to try this place out. Sushi places are a hit or miss kind of thing and I was hoping it was a hit. YES! IT WAS A HIT!

We ordered miso soup, rangoons (both smoked salmon and pineapple), and many rolls.

I can't eat the rangoons (gluten) but my daughter and hubby loved the salmon and said that the pineapple were good but could use a wee bit more pineapple.

All of the rolls were substantial and well crafted. I loved mine - vegetarian, Philly, and Rainbow. The fish was fresh and delicate - the rice perfectly seasoned.

Great meal, can't wait to order again!

My favorite sushi place in louisville, fresh fish and good selection of sushi with their own special rolls as well. My favorite is the red dragon roll! Staff has always been helpful and nice to me when I lived close to there I was going every Friday night! Miss living close :(

I've noticed wild ginger goes through cycles of being pretty good and then pretty bad. During Covid, it seemed that they were in a phase of being pretty good. However, I just stopped in there for take out about a half hour ago, and I received the fishiest sushi I have ever tasted in my life. I go for raw, unsaucy rolls as I love raw sushi. And this was so bad that I don't think I'll ever be able to convince myself to go back. I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 since I know they were pretty good in the past. There's no excuse for $15 sushi rolls to taste this poor in quality. Hoping I don't get sick later.
