Was looking for a place for a quick get-away.
What a great find. This is a very well kept historic mansion. Max checked us in showed us around and made sure we had everything we needed. Max and everyone here is so friendly. This was our first visit but will not be our last. I look forward to returning many more times.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sybil M.Bridgeport, CT8313Jan 24, 2024
The Wilburton is a truly special place. My family and I read about it in Yankee Magazine which featured its annual Doggy Slumber party. The mansion (main part of the inn) was decorated so beautifully for Christmas and the party was amazing. A chartreuse from NYC performed Christmas songs as we sipped champagne and delighted in the warmth of the season. Melissa (owner) couldn't have been more accommodating and was genuinely so happy to host and entertain the guests.
We stayed in the Presidential Suite which was very clean, comfortable and well appointed. It even included a full kitchen and laundry room-- perfect for our family trip!
A magical stay for sure and we will come back annually to enjoy this new family tradition at the most lovely Wilburton Inn!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lenee B.High Point, NC511714Dec 27, 2023
Perfect dog friendly inn. Melissa and Jetson were wonderful hosts. We enjoyed staying in the presidential suite with our own Cavalier King Charles spaniels. It was a hallmark movie Christmas vacation (except boy and girl are already married and just a sprinkle of snow). We had a ton of room and the king bed was so comfortable for us humans and our pups. We will go back again! It's rated top hotels on bringfido.com and we love it.

The Wilburton Inn is a unique and special property. It's like stepping back in time. The Innkeepers are so hospitable and kind. I recently went to the Wilburton on a solo visit so that I could write and just get away from the pressure of NYC. This was the perfect weekend. I was able to hike during the mornings taking in the gorgeous views of the lush green mountains. I think it is a perfect day trip from NYC for a romantic weekend or a solo trip when you just need to get away. Melissa and her dog Jetson are wonderful. I'll definitely be back!

The Wilburton has made our family's 2023! Hosting our 3-generation family reunion in October, the wonderful Wilburton brought so much laughter and love that I had to come back for a little New Year's romantic getaway. Welcomed by the cascading snow-covered views, charming rooms, historic ambience, and inspiring art, you are truly transported to a Hallmark winter wonderland.
It is the family-owned spirit of the Inn that makes you feel taken care of and like kin -- especially the hostess, Melissa, and her furry friend, Jetson!
The grounds gave us a great base to go into Manchester Center, go skiing at Stratton, and even a sled day!
I'm not typically a fan of sequels, but the Wilburton is a cherished Vermont destination in which we can't wait to return.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Julie P.New York, NY041Jun 14, 2023
The Wilburton has such an innate magic and charm that this review can't begin to describe.
Walking through its rooms transports you to another glamorous time and you can't help but imagine all of the fabulous people and parties its walls have seen.
The best part is you do not have to rely on your imagination, because The Wilburton is still host to (and run by) fabulous people and parties, like the recent murder mystery weekend, which was organized with infectious enthusiasm.
The family who owns and runs the hotel treats every guest with the same special care, warmth and attentiveness.
The scenic, romantic views and comfortable rooms are restorative for the body and soul, while The Museum of the Creative Process and sculpture garden tour will stimulate your mind, creativity and sense of wonder. Already planning a return visit!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Oct 2, 2022
Gorgeous views of the mountains and easy access to the shopping and historical areas of Manchester from this spot! The grounds have interesting artistic displays, while the inn has an old charm to it. We stayed for a wedding that was held here, and it was a great venue for that. We stayed in one of the rooms in the cabin closest to the house (#20) and it was a wonderful view, reading or working from the patio & seeing the brick in front of the Green Mountains. The continental breakfast after the wedding was a bit sparse in terms of options, but the baked goods were heavenly!

Our visit here in October and here are a few things you should know.
1. Don't go here. You will be disappointed
2. dreadfully overpriced l
2. The grounds are run down and not well maintained. Dumpy
3. Their website is completely NOT accurate of what the main buildings look like (think sanitarium) The Inn should be ashamed as it is false advertising of the pictures in their site. When in reality the whole property looks like a place where a Stephen King movie should be filmed.
4 this in NOT an inn. It is a wedding venue, (a tacky one) conferences and mystical workshops. the outdoor installations look like it is for some odd worshiping practice. It was not put up to the sake of art and if it was it is just disturbing.
5. Our cabin was decorated in a manner that is completely not a feeling of New England. If you are looking for what most would understandable feel like New England that is the last thing it is. Ours had bright teal silk curtain valances that gold embroidery and fringe on them. An odd tapestry. Lamps made no sense. There is a plastic elephant ear plant outside the UNIT to go with the tacky theme of the room.
6. We did not use the kitchen and would not if we needed to. First the 2 burners of the stove are a fire hazard. I don't believe there was an exhaust fan. If you did need to wash dishes there is no sink but the bathroom Sink. The refrigerator is a complete safety risk, when you open the door it leans out like it is going to fall onto the floor. and I can't believe it is to code or needs ADA requirements.
7. There was absolutely no contact with anyone from who would be representing the property. Privacy is one thing, but a sense of not being a valued guest or feeling people there are non existent. The worn down property and attraction guide is so out dated.
8. Bath linens and towels were hard a rough. I could not sleep directly on the sheet.
9. There is no pride in the property here.
I do not recommend this place to anyone.
10. This was a girls trip and we left completely deflated by the experienceHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

Dear Piper -
We always appreciate feedback and value learning from our guests. That being said, we were very surprised by your post. We would have been happy to address any concerns about your room or the property during your stay. Our guests have consistently enjoyed their vacations at The Wilburton so much that they voted The Wilburton the Best of the Best award on TripAdvisor for the past 3 years. Wilburton weddings have similarly been voted Best of the Knot and Best of Zola.
The Wilburton is a unique property, with a range of lodging options, from historic inn rooms in the 1902 mansion to villas and more contemporary suites with a variety of decorative themes. Our website offers detailed photos of every room, so you can choose one to your liking. Mansion guest rooms were available during your midweek stay during peak foliage. It sounds like you would have been happier in the Best Friends room in the mansion, which has floral wallpaper and a more traditional turn of the century historic style. However, you and your friends booked the Nirvana room in the Maxwell Suites which has an Indian decor theme. We are truly sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay. We would have been happy to change your room if you had asked.
The Museum of The Creative Process on the grounds of the estate features contemporary sculptures, many by Vermont artists with a focus on mythological stories from Greece, Egypt and other cultures. Some of our larger sculptural pieces had previously been exhibited at Lincoln Center and Storm King Art Center.
Reader's Digest voted the Wilburton’s Museum of the Creative Process one of the top ten things to do in Vermont. The art and the museum is clearly detailed in our website. We have brochures available and offer tours by appointment. Our historic property is maintained with great pride and constant attention by our team.
The Wilburton is a large 30 acre estate and we offer remote check in for guest convenience, so you can drive right to your room when you arrive. Typically guests who want local guidance from our concierge or want to enjoy the public mansion rooms, take the initiative to come inside the main mansion. Our welcome email to your friend prior to your arrival, included this information, and the phone/ text number for our front desk. The updated local activity guide is available on the website and in rooms. The Wilburton has been family owned and operated for over 36 years. As owners and innkeepers, we enjoy sharing our love of Vermont, and our knowledge of the area with our guests, to help everyone have the best possible experience. - Rebecca R.Manhattan, NY07Jul 12, 2023
Amazing family owned inn, a place and space beautiful adorned with song, meaning, love and care. The trees, shrubbery and mountains are majestic, it's delightful to fall into a daydream here. Rooms are marvelously comfortable and staff are always willing to be present and helpful. Very highly recommend staying here!! Also short distance from other outdoor wonders and the walkable town.

We went up from NJ with no expectations to a Halloween dog weekend. It rained the whole weekend so my expectations were low. Turns out it was an awesome experience. Our family had three beautiful quaint rooms, one with a full kitchen where we ate together. The activities were wonderful and fun. The inn keeper sung her personal story to us which was fascinating and with a beautiful voice. The dogs were fun and in town, they could come into stores with you and even a few restaurants. It turned out to be a great experience. The innkeeper was so welcoming Friendly, it made the weekend very special!

A rare gem in Manchester, VT - great accommodations, tons of fun family activities (tennis, pool, yard games), interesting art, and, on Saturday night, a Bridgerton-style costume ball. The Levis family and their team creates the perfect environment for a fun get-away or spectacular wedding.
