Service was on 2021 Samsung gas Range, auto-clean malfunctioning causing oven door to lock permanently. Did not matter if I turn power off or unplug. (CD-1 error on display). Although I gave them all this information during the call and told them I had done the power cycle, and everything you can find on google search. The technician first time out he tried everything i did over again, which guess I understand. So he told me they would have to order parts and come back with another Tech as well. The parts did take almost 3 weeks not thier fault. Anthony was very polite and professional and they were careful of my new kitchen.
When they returned with the parts and the seasoned mechanic new exactly what he had to do. Pulling the oven out removing the back panel and replacing the mechanism that controlled the locking rod. Reassembled parts and tested the the clean function briefly to be sure the new locking part locked and unlocked as it should. They even took time to place pads under the feet of my oven that I had handy. Although sceptical at first, very happy the second time around. Note: This was a LOWES Extened Protection Plan "Assurant" claim.

It pains me to even leave one star but zero stars wasn't an option. This company is an abomination. Stay FAR FAR away.

      So here's the story:

On January 5th I placed a claim to Lowes Home Protection Plan to fix a 2 year old Samsung Dishwasher- I forget the exact model but it was decent one...I payed around $1,200 for it plus the additional protection plan (which I rarely buy and will neeeeever buy again but that's another story for another day).

So Assurant puts me in touch with this group Whitman's Appliance Repair. A guy comes out. Checks out the dishwasher, tells me there's a bunch of things wrong with it that need to be replace in order to fix, all of which needs to be ordered. He also says that they cannot pull out the dishwasher and unplug, that I need to do that (cost me $150 to get a plumber to come do that). So literally three weeks later they call back saying they have the parts and want to come out the following week to fix. So now it's early Febraury and the guys shows up and while fixing he tells me they ordered the wrong motor! HAH. So he fixes what he can and leaves. Dishwasher still busted. Still sitting in the middle of my kitchen.

So I call the appliance repair office to ask them to call the insurance company and tell them the machine isn't fixable and to replace it. Of course they won't do that. Will they help me out? Of COURSE NOT. Instead they tell me I need to call the insurance company back and file another claim since the original ticket was closed. So I go through that rigmoral again and a day later I hear from Whitmans appliance repair that they are going to order the motor again and will call me in a few days for an update. It's now February 15th and I still have a broken dishwasher sitting in the middle of my kitchen.

The repair man who came out had an extremely thick accent, but said he needed to order a part for the washer, and that I would
have to remove the dryer from the top of the washer before they came back to fix it. This meant I had to remove the toilet from the shop
bathroom as well, but I agreed. Over 3 weeks later, I still had not heard from anyone, so I called back to see what the holdup was. I'm
fairly certain he didn't even order the part until we called a month a half later. When he finally came out, he came in and first said he couldn't fix the washer because we hadn't pulled it out as well and he need it out so he could flip it over. I told him that we were not instructed to remove the washing machine, just take the dryer off the top. I already had had to pay someone to come in and remove the toilet from my bathroom and unhook and remove the dryer. He then asked for change for the meter, so one of my employees gave him 4 quarters. He didn't even attempt to hand them a dollar in exchange for them, which I thought was rude. I'm fairly certain he didn't even put the change intro the meter anyway. He put the part in and then told me "I started a quick wash, but if its not working you'll have to call back, because I don't have any more coins". He left and proceeded to go out and sit in the truck, where he remained way past the 18 minutes it took for the cycle to be over.
After he left, I had to have someone come back and re-install the toilet and dryer, and they found the detergent compartment door broken on the floor. I'm assuming that when he "flipped the dryer over", he broke the door.
While I understand that mistakes happen, he didn't bother to tell me or offer to fix it. We use the washer and dryer for towels for the
shop, and being that the door is what keeps the water from spraying all over the floor, it is kind of an important piece to have. I had to
discover the piece on my own and call back.
I called to get someone back out about my door and was rudely told that because I claimed the man had an accent I was rude and they won't service my washer or dryer anymore. Telling a company you cannot understand someone is not offensive it's been truthful. The man who called me was the owner and was just looking for a fight. You can tell by their rating that they do crappy work. Go with another repair company. This one is a joke and doesn't stand behind there work.

      Unacceptable.

Our extended warrantee through Frigidaire connected us to Whitman's Appliance. Their connection to Whitman's calls into question the quality of Frigidaire.

      1. Our issue was assessed by a third party (Baker's Appliance) who ordered the part (a compressor or a relay).
      2. Ten days of waiting, we called Frigidaire to ask when to expect the repair. Somehow Whitman's Appliance was brought into the arrangement.
      3. They came to make the repair after another week of waiting. The technician was rude. His name is Bob. He complained about having to do the work. Frankly, he did not inspire confidence that he knew what he was doing or how to fix the problem.
      4. Less than a day later and it is still broken. Called to request service and was absolutely given the run around by Frigidaire and Whitman's and can expect another week until someone can even look at it again.
      5. We requested the original servicer, Baker's Appliance, be given our service order.

By far the worst customer service I have ever experienced. The manager was rude the technician smelled like pot and was dirty. Did not know how to fix my machine. They were contracted by Lowes to fix our washer under warranty and the experience was terrible. Washer never got fixed.

Probably the worst company I've ever dealt with. They were sent by Frigidaire to repair my freezer under warranty. The freezer was in my insulated garage attached to the house. They came out and said they had to order a part. 7-10 days. On the 11th day I called and they said they would be out in 3 days. The morning they were due the repairman called and I was told it was too cold to work. He couldn't come out until the temperature was over 55 degrees. About an hour later the owner called me and said he could re-schedule for next week, but if its cold they would have to reschedule again. I told him he was a waste and hung up. Frigidaire sent out another company, who responded in a few days and repaired it a week later. Don't waste your time with these idiots. Frigidaire should remove them from their list

Was assigned this company by my extended warranty for a dishwasher. At first visit, technician determined an electrical failure and could not extend the electrical wire to attempt reconnection. Said I need an electrician. Electrician came, moved the dishwasher and the electrical wire was able to extend without issue. Called back and they would no longer honor the warranty because I did not pay for any electrical work even though electrical work was not necessary. Despite repeating this several times was told they would not touch the unit because of electrical work was not performed even though a qualified professional stated non was necessary.

      DRYER REPAIR HORROR STORY:

I am not a complainer, but my experience with company was so terrible that I have to leave my experience here in hopes that it will save some other poor schmuck the time and trouble of dealing with them. When my Maytag dryer broke, my first call was to Queen Appliance (out of KOP) where I bought my dryer (3 years old). It was out of warranty, so they recommended Whitman's. I didn't read any reviews of Whitman's because, again, they came recommended to me, so I assumed they were reputable. That was my first mistake. I called them immediately because I am 9 months pregnant and needed my dryer fixed ASAP. Paid them $140 that day over the phone upfront for the service call, fine, whatever. When they did come out, they fixed a thermostat and charged me another $180 on top, for a total of $320. I knew I was overpaying and that a thermostat only costs about $20, but I was desperate. They said they tested it and it was working, and left. When I went to start working on laundry, the initial issue persisted. When I called them back to have them come figure it out (during business hours that they were listed as OPEN on google) they did not respond for another 48 hours. During that 48 hours I contacted and paid another company to come fix the dryer, because again, I needed this done quickly. The second company diagnosed it as a motor issue, which they were able to replace same-day, thankfully. They had never heard of Whitman's, referenced their terrible reviews, and said that the company seemed sketchy, as many companies who do a lot of "warranty work" for big box stores like Lowe's are. Overpriced parts and labor and they do not stand behind their work.

When I called to dispute this with Whitman's, I could not believe the line of questioning I received from Ramon, a manager. I told them I would still pay the $140 for someone's time to come out and work on it, but that I wanted my $180 back for a repair that wasn't properly diagnosed or executed. They accused me of not being present when the testing was done, said that I "signed the work order" (which they did NOT leave me a copy of), claimed that the dryer was working "when they left" and suggested that I had a clogged vent line (it was not). They have truly mastered the art of the scam. I tried to stop payment on the $180 check but the only recourse I am left with is to dispute the initial charge via my bank/credit card company. I ended up paying twice for a repair, and for that amount of money, I could have purchased an entirely new dryer (which, apparently, you have to do every 5-7 years now, unless you buy a Speed Queen.

I contacted Queen Appliance and asked that they not recommend this company to anyone in the future and gave them the name of the company who DID correctly diagnose and fix the problem and had a great experience with. I got the name of that company by calling my local hardware store and it was someone they knew personally and recommended. I am not listing them here for fear that Whitman's would try to retaliate against them, but my advice is, find a local company who doesn't do a whole lot of "warranty work" and stands behind the job they do.

      Hard and expensive lesson learned.

ramone and sherman or something were very rude. I tried explaining that my mother just died and my dad needs the fridge for all his meds and sherman proceeded to talk over me:: I got mad because he wouldn't give me a second to explain and kept telling me he didn't care about what I had to say? are you kidding me! listen to how your employees talk to people bc it's horrible.. couldn't give me any reason besides the fact they dont repair tomorrow! then they all kept hanging up on me?? I would appreciate if a manager could teach out. All I asked was to be let to talk and now I'm being treated bad by your company!
