Manny was so kind and helpful, he let us check and scope out the room before he charged us to make sure everything was okay with the room. Most definitely coming back soon.

This is definitely the best bet in the area. My room was spotless! The staff was courteous & attentive. I was treated like a human & not a commodity. That is very rare these days. The price was almost too good to be true.

Good location but room was dirty without
microwave, coffee machine and refrigerator. No one chair. - Rosie M.Manteca, CA672903378/12/2016
Okay hotel for resting between shifts for us RNs across the street at Kaiser Permanente. Fridge, microwave, shower, and a bed...the bare necessities that I need while working plenty of doubles. Manny is very friendly and accommodating. Gives nurses a great discount for staying less than 8hrs between shifts. Call him!

I am happy to be here. The person who checked me in, was kind enough to walk me to my room and asked if it was to my satisfaction. He waited while I checked the room out. I am fortunate to have found this place. I will be back. The beds are great...

Family run business. They were super nice and let me check in hours in advance of the stated time. The place is cobbled together from odds and ends but it's cute.

The staff was very accommodating and met all the needs of me and my friend who stayed in the hotel. They were very friendly and gave us a replacement card when we lost our card and even give us towels and new soap late at night when we had forgotten to get maid service during the day great location I would recommend this hotel to anyone who comes and stays in the area

I want to start out by saying that I actually signed up for yelp in order to post a review after staying here with a friend and experiencing the worst the Oakland hospitality industry has to offer. I even called my friend to double check the name to make sure I wasn't reviewing the wrong establishment and unfairly sullying their good name.
Pulling up outside was what you generally expect to see in terms of reality vs. advertised pictures for a low level motel. Everything started to go downhill when we rang the bell outside the window to sign in. There was no one working??
We had to wait nearly 10 minutes for the lady currently "on duty" to come back and check in our reservation (obviously booked online by my friend otherwise within a minute of talking to her on the phone I personally would have instantly changed my plans). She was amazingly rude. And if it was my reservation and there were any other options, I may have considered scrapping it and calling the whole plan a loss. However it was late and we didn't have any other options. We finally received our key with poorly veiled irritation ( isn't this job your livelihood??) from this woman and made our way up to the room on the third floor.
We walked into the room and things went from bad to worse. The bed wasn't made. All the sheets (2?) and blanket (1, if you can call it that, I would say it was closer to plastic sheeting.) were folded up on the glass table in the corner of the room. Even at the worst possible motel, I have never heard of the bedding coming as "do it yourself". After the reception we received from the woman outside, we bit the bullet and put the bed together ourselves. The room itself looked like only the most cursory cleaning had been done once every 4 months for the last ten years. Example- the bathroom looked/smelled like someone had walked in, splashed some bleach on the shower floor and called it a day.
Also, the note advertising microwave and refrigerator had to have been interpreted in the most loose sense possible. Unless they were hiding the microwave under the bed ( I looked, and they weren't) there was none to be found anywhere. However they did thoughtfully provide a bottle of water and one plastic cup ( one ???).
Now back to bathroom. The provided amenities included two packets of lotion, a crumbly bar of soap that looked like it was homemade in a bathtub with lye, and ragged towels with large brown stains all over them ( I can seriously not make this stuff up). To give some benefit of doubt the stains may have been from bleach. Again MAY have been. I mean the towels could have been brown to start with I suppose.
Let me get to wiring.
The satellite box is balanced on the back of the mounting rod for the TV. Sideways. If there is an earthquake, or someone bumps the wall in the next room are they going to charge us when it falls over??
Also, due to the strange ungainly and inaccessible placement, you have to actually stand up and move to the side to be able to make the remote work properly.
Also, the outlets. Oh the outlets! There is one socket next to the front door that is available for use. The other is taken up with the TV plugs. However, it only works if you have the light on. So much for charging your phone overnight. Although this place almost did make us want to sleep with the light on. Maybe they can copy-right infringe on motel six - "we make you leave the light on!" The only other option is the socket in the bathroom. This means if you want any kind of power source you have to leave your computer, phone, etc, balanced on the side of the sink. Please don't let my Dell electrocute me?!!!
Moving to the other "guests". The people staying there all seem to know each other somehow. They were all on the balcony and even with the TV on, their conversation was LOUD.
The best part of our stay was overhearing the section where they were shouting about Danielle, the resident hooker, and her amazing business acuity. At first I thought they were joking but from visual evidence I can honestly say that the swinging chair is more akin to the revolving door at Macy's. Unless there are ten different men all staying in the same room and time sharing it for ten/twenty minute increments, the resident "working girl" was open for business. And apparently she works there as "concierge" as well. A woman of many talents. Why keep work and home separate when you can have them all in one convenient package?
Eventually when they all either got too drunk to continue or actually do sleep there, the noise died down. Then it was just the occasional lunatic shouting in the distance and sirens from the hospital next door.
I can definitely say neither of us got a lot of sleep that night. I feel like I should have gone home and bathed in bleach. When morning came around (and neither of us are morning people) we bounded out of bed and hauled out of there like it was on fire.
Little to say, we won't be back. Thank you Westwind!!Business owner information

Dear Aaron,
Your conniving character gives all Americans a bad name. You lied to my entire staff about your shortcomings as a gay man in an attempt to gather sympathy. You have been evicted in Alameda County 13 times with the Westwind Lodge as your latest casualty. You bled this family business for over $5,000
I feel sorry for the people who raised you.
You are a healthy, smart, physically capable individual who claims disabilities in order to stay a ward of the state and take advantage of the kindness of others. The Schuman name of South Carolina deserve better. - Nima T.Los Angeles, CA10165/2/2019
This hotel/lodge is the nicest place for the best value you will find in the area. The rooms are clean, have cable, a fridge, and housekeeping cleans the rooms regularly. Most of the hotel guests are contracted workers, nurses, and other individuals. Manny is a great manager and has accommodated me on short notice in the past. If you're from out of town and need a place to stay, I would definitely recommend staying here.

Your average crappy motel stay wouldn't be complete without the thinnest, smallest towels I have ever seen and a loud 5:30 a.m. wake up call from the guys who live there permanently.
But hey, at least the shower worked.
