West Side Club

Following the Covid pandemic the West Side Club has ended thier lease and this location is now unfortunately PERMANENTLY CLOSED !!
They still continue to own and operate the East Side Club which is now back open 24/7 however they no longer offer the 6 hour rates. They only offer 4 hours renewable or pay overtime rates. Located at 256 East 56th Street between 2nd Ave & 3rd Ave , 3 Floors of rooms, enter by Elevator (which was finally replaced) to the 6th Floor.
Now I hope they take some money they have and invest it all into the East Side Club and make NewYork City great again !!!

Not Good.

As you can see from my reviews, I've been to sex clubs and bathhouses all over the country -- this ranks among the worst.

There is no working steam room or sauna and on the day I visited there was no hot water in the showers.  What was the steam room has become a makeshift adult video lounge.  And while the facility is clean enough, it could use a thorough deep clean and a re-painting.

On the day I visited, it was sparse and general vibe of the place was dour.  Ultimately -- it's a terrible value.  With a temporary membership, you can easily spend nearly $50 on a room, and you get very, very little for it.  

Not worth a visit.

watch out for the sex nazi's - sex only allowed in a room with door closed
my room key barley worked - they would not shift me to a working room
the guys are scarce, and the ones that are there are rude and fugly
staff was rude and not helpful

All the reviews are spot on. I'll even elaborate.

1. 11:30 on a Saturday night and hardly anyone there. (20ish, maybe)
2. Nearly half the people walked around in their underwear.
3. Towels are too small. I'm a 36 waist and had to hold it closed the whole time. (Prolly explains the amount of underwear ppl)
4. NO amenities of a spa. Zero.
5. NO porn playing anywhere because there are no tv's. Not one.
6. NO play areas. No glory holes, mazes, nothing. It's just hallways and rooms.
7. $34 for a one time 4 hour pass and a locker.
8. No poppers allowed. (If that interests you)
9. Totally unfriendly clientele. No talking or flirting at all anywhere.
10. They have changing rooms and real rooms. I didn't get either but a changing room was pricey...just to have a room to change in...

I have tried many bathhouses around the US and Canada. This is by far one of the worst in almost every way. I mean, how the fuck do you have no public play areas or porn???

Very big disappointment. After paying $34, I had to find out on my own that the steam room AND sauna are out of order and have been for many years.  I find it reprehensible that there isn't any signage at check in that speaks to that fact.  At a minimum, the front desk person should have informed me as deliberately as he told me I could not have my money back.

Never again...

Total waste of $$$... as in $40 admission fee and no one inside. Went Saturday and Sunday night. Totally empty. Cash only. One floor only. No pool; no jacuzzi; no actual steam/sauna room. Only 1 bathroom stall and restrooms are not equipped to clean up before getting into the action. Slightly trashy clientele.

This was a total waste of money.

The water takes for ever to heat. there's no sauna and no steam room. The guy in the reception needs to be replaced. Seriously, hire people with customer service skills.

I walked out after 2 minutes.

I want my $40 back.

I went there no bad and enjoy though but still expensive I don't like this place because too much money and only limit like 1 month if I correct? It just expire then again pay 40$ gee  smh I won't there never again.

But this place need fix get better improvement for when guys buy 30$ add 10$ for enter once one time with card member then when u want go again 10-15$ time hour like 10pm to 5am that way as similar club bar that way. Simple ‍ smh that why I didn't like this place worse ever. Never again there. Nah

If guys will love this place. Up to u. It your choice.

This is not a bathhouse. If you are looking for the usual bathhouse amenities, you will not find them here. This place literally only has small and basic private rooms. This isn't the West Side Club's fault. Ever since Mayor Ed Koch began shutting down such establishments in the mid-late 80s, NYC has been without proper gay bathhouses. At the time it made sense, but now it doesn't. There is also NYC's cost of opening/running a place like that. The economics of it don't make sense. NYC has become sterile and censored. I don't know if that will ever change. Anyway, you are​ better off not even giving this place a try. You WILL disappointed.

Having not been to this place since my last review, I decided to return here today.  The same front desk attendant waited on me that is noted in my prior review.  There was absolutely NO ONE standing at the counter except me, but apparently he had not finished the paper work on his last customer - so instead of helping me out processing me and getting me in, he says "l'll be with you in a minute."  Well that took him almost a full 5 minutes, while I just stood there at the counter.  ALSO, I asked this guy how much it was, and he quoted me $ 1.00  more than the actual price.  Then he had a second thought about what he said to me and said it again, at a dollar less.  I very well know the price, but I ALWAYS ask, and I actually think this guy remembers that and it pisses him off.  

When I left, he never offered me a coupon which I don't use anyhow, but hey man, get your act together and do what your suppose to do.  Today I didn't tip the front or the check out, which is essentially the same guy, this guy.  I always tip the front, the check out and the guys who escort you to the rooms.  But today I didn't get any service from check in our check out that warrants and kinds of monetary recognition.
