Dr. Zimmerman went above and beyond in providing me the information and understanding I needed to make an informed decision on whether or not to move forward with SMILE Eye Surgery. I recommend Wang Vision Institute based off of the professional experience their staff provided me. Three days following surgery and I am seeing significantly better already!

Dr. Ming Wang is truly a gem in the industry.

The office is upscale and clean; the staff is friendly, kind and genuine. You can tell he is a pioneer in the vision world, makes you feel very comfortable before the procedure, speaks to you by name during the surgery which makes you feel very much at ease. I also love that Dr. Wang is charismatic and is so proud of his journey. At the end of my successful procedure, he gave me a book written about his life. Cannot wait to read it.

I chose to get SMILE instead of traditional Lasik. It was explained to me as a less invasive, safer version of Lasik. What they say about waking up the next day and being able to see is true. I'm very happy in my choice to go to Wang Vision Institute. Highly recommend.

I called to make an appointment and the fist thing I asked was "ARE YOU IN NETWORK WITH NY INSURANCE." I was told my insurance were in network so I made the appointment. To my surprise after waiting for quite a while and fill out ALL the paperwork I was told that they were NOT in network.
I was very upset because I had to take off from work to go to the appointment and I have headaches so I need to get my prescription check.

All of the staff at Wang Vision have been incredibly helpful, kind, and knowledgeable. They provided me with all of my options and were quick to get my surgery scheduled and executed! Would highly recommend! My process has been seamless and super easy!

This place gave us a complimentary consult and same day treatment, which was great considering I work as a welder and can't wear my glasses at work - so I was able to plan this around our annual shut down. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, even when things got a little difficult with the HSA card. We got there about 15 minutes early and got called back right away, exam was fast and easy, took a few minutes for the doctor to come back, he was friendly and examined me quickly, answering all of our questions thoroughly and without making us feel any type of way about them, the financial coordinator took a while to come in, but was helpful one he got in there and explained the pricing for us, even helped us apply for financing. The front helped us deal with HSA card issues, worked with my night shift schedule, and I even checked in on Facebook and got my girlfriend a Starbucks gift card!
The only complaint about that process is some of the things they "upsold" us on - I didn't feel like gave the best explanation. The eyelid cleaning - was a HORRIBLE experience and I wouldn't ever get that or recommend it to anyone. I felt like it was a waste of money, didn't do much, but also wasn't fully explained just recommended/told I had to get. The lady who did it cleaned them with a brush, which was fine, but then used the bright light (without telling me it would be a bright light, right after my eyes were dilated) and shoved it into my eye socket, even when I pulled back and told her it was really tough her response "yeah it's a little uncomfortable" with a laugh - just felt like she didn't truly know how to do it right and caused a lot of pain before I even had the procedure. I asked for the Valium beforehand/told her they should give it before that as I was already anxious - she just laughed and said I get it after. My girlfriend even went home and watched some videos on the treatment and says that is NOT how the lady did it - for $650 an eye I feel like that should've been a better experience.
I also think they could've explained the SMILE procedure itself a little better and how the flow would go - I was anxious about the laser, but not being able to move at all for thirty seconds sent my anxiety and blood pressure skyrocketing - and I feel I would've been better prepared if they told me ahead of time what to expect. I also got the little tear duct plugs they recommend - and then at the follow up the next day had to have one taken out, just didn't make sense, if they were that needed why was it removed next day, but the rest stay for 3-4 months.
Overall I had a good experience and I would do it again without question. My vision was improved that day, and other than a little blurriness I'm able to see without corrective lenses for the first time in my life - and I had HORRIBLE vision. I just wish they had explained a little more and helped me feel fully confident in everything I paid for. To anyone wanting to get it done - they were great, I wouldn't personally recommend the eyelid cleaning - BUT the staff was amazing and the procedure has changed my life.

This year, I finally decided it was time to have corrective eye surgery performed and be free of the tyranny of my high prescription eyeglasses forever haha. Living in Nashville, I scoured the Internet for the best firms in Nashville, and I stumbled across the Wang Vision Institute.

Setting up an appointment was easy, and they were flexible with my schedule. On the day of the appointment, each of the staff I interacted with were highly professional and took their jobs seriously. The facility is top-notch, and I instantly felt like I had made the right decision coming to the Wang Vision Institute.

The actual surgery was quick and effective (although it always feels longer when it's going on!). Dr. Frenkel exhibited skill and excellent bedside manner (too bad more doctors can't perfect this combination!). The supporting staff in the operating room were also excellent and highly engaged in the operation.

In the days that have followed my SMILE surgery, my vision has improved dramatically, and it's such a novel joy waking up each day with clear vision! Would 100% recommend giving the Wang Vision Institute a ring if you're seriously contemplating corrective eye surgery.

I've wanted lasik for 10+ years and finally decided to do it. I couldn't be happier with my results--my vision is better than it ever was with glasses, and I've had no dry eye. I loved the convenience of being able to do the consult and procedure the same day, and the procedure itself was quick and painless. Dr. Frenkel was great, as was the entire team. All of my friends who have gone to Wang Vision have been extremely pleased with their results.

I had LASIK done at WVI with Dr. Frenkel and I couldn't be happier with the results. The entire staff and doctors have all been amazing from pre-op to post-op. Would highly recommend to anyone interested in getting LASIK.

Be cautious with those 5star reviews as they are being compensated & pushed**i wish i would have researched more places. I went here because it was easy and so much marketing throughout nashville. It is a LONG day at the office. You can go in for your consultation and get surgery done the same day. . I tell people to do more research as the price is significantly higher than every other location. The office is in a high rise. Its a nice office visually. There is so many members of staff. You get passed off from person to person. There's no one you stay with that you can connect with or feel comfortable. I went during covid restrictions so guests were no allowed. During any surgery you feel vulnerable and unfortunately unable to make a connection with a staff member was a big downside. They don't get to know you as they have so many patients in a large waiting room. Every visit i have gone back to, I never felt acknowledged by the staff. It's a very transactional office. I feel like this location is best suited for patients who might have high risks or medical conditions that require specialized care in order to get LASIK. Also I never met or encountered THE Dr. Wang

He preformed Lasik on my husbands eyes and ruined them. He still wears glasses and has terrible dry eyes. He could not see after the surgery and Dr. Wang tried to fix it but made it worse. My husband is back in glasses, never got out of them, and is in pain most of the time from the dry eyes.
