We celebrated my father in law's birthday at Vincent's. There were 8 of us, so they gave us a nice private area. The food was excellent. The mushroom soup was delicious, as was the scallop starter. Everyone enjoyed their meals very much. It wasn't perfect, howeve. My complaints are as follows:
1. There was no music. I feel that nice, appropriate music really creates a warm, inviting ambiance. I noticed right away how quiet it was in the restaurant. It was strange for it to be so quiet & not have any background music playing. I highly recommend the restaurant select some nice, French or quiet jazz music to play.
2. When the server started clearing the table after our main courses, she didn't wait until my MIL was done eating. That was very inappropriate.
3. As excellent as the food was, the service was GOOD, not great. For the prices we paid, the service should have been top notch & it just wasn't. The waitress was nice, but not personable. She did her job, but nothing more.
This restaurant is VERY expensive. The service, atmosphere, everything should match the prices. My FIL loves this place, so he will certainly return. I'm not sure I need to go back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Chip M.Phoenix, AZ4513Jan 12, 2024
Very Disappointed
We had not been in many years, but thought we were overdue.
Very attentive and friendly service was the upside.
On the downside was the food. A beautiful piece of Sea Bass with absolutely flavorless sauce. Lobster bisque soup with not one piece of lobster. This used to be an epic soup. Lobster tail was undercooked, stringy and tough. Even dessert was disappointing, which is hard to imagine at Vincent's.
I should have known something was up when I called up at 5pm on a Friday and had openings at every time slot. We got there at 630 and it was mostly empty. When we left at 830, it was still half empty. The Bistro only had 3 full tables. Obviously word has gotten out that this once great restaurant is tired and dying. Pretty sad evening.Helpful 3Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 2 - Jan 2, 2024
Pricey, classy, and buttery, lol. I love French food and was really excited to come here for a family birthday dinner.
We were seated really close to the entrance, which just didn't feel like a great spot, but being more in the center may have felt a little too crowded and stuffy. That was probably the one bad thing about this place - just didn't feel like the air was circulating well.
Even though I don't eat red meat I had plenty of options. I thought I was going to choose the scallops, but I made a spur of the moment decision change and ordered the trio of halibut, bass, and lobster. I was SO glad I flip flopped - I love tasting a variety and this was served like 3 perfect little fully plated mini dinners! I had a bite of one of my family member's scallops, very good but I preferred my dish(es).
Other than mains, we had small croissants and bread with butter on the table. I only had croissant which was pretty good (I'm pretty picky - I do wish the outside had more layers but on the inside they were there!) We also ordered a chanterelle mushroom tarte appetizer to share which was fantastic (mushroom lover here). We passed on ordering a full dessert but with the check they gave us each a little flourless chocolate cake that was to die for and the small portion didn't leave me feeling unable to get up from the table.
The service was nice but if I'm allowed to say it, a little snooty. I really liked the food though so I'd come back for another special occasion for sure.

Classic French food meets the flavors of the Southwest. It's a white-tablecloth restaurant with beautiful plates. The lobster bisque was classic and delicious. I had the lamb with cauliflower -- again, classic. My husband is a creme brûlée lover and said it was great. I even bought the cookbook!

First time at Vincent's on Camelback. What a treat. Friends invited me to share a celebration with them. The food, ambiance, and service were exceptional!
Started off with a lobster and avocado salad. Very tasty as were the croissant rolls. One of the dinner specials was an individual Beef Wellington. First time for that dish as well. The Beef Wellington was a filet mignon baked in a puff pastry with mushrooms. It had a tasty brown gravy and some vegetables.
For dessert, the choice was a brulee that was very rich. Chef also gave each diner a complimentary chocolate pastry. Food coma lasted only a short while.
What a special evening! Shut down the place. They have been in business for over 30 years. Put this one on your list for that special occasion!Helpful 15Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0 - Patricia R.Bend, OR054Feb 22, 2024

Searched online for best places for escargot in Phoenix, found Vincent on Camelback as saying they had the best escargot in Phoenix! I called to make a reservation and asked if they indeed have escargot and they said they didn't even though they have it online!

It's always a pleasure to dine @vincentsoncamelback one of the Best French Restaurants in the valley. Service is always impeccable. Chef Vincent prepared for us a special starter from his previous fall menu these sautéed scallops over a pumpkin purée with beurre blanc sauce is one of a kind and the French Mushroom Tart was so satisfying. Salad~ Beet Citrus Salad, very refreshing. Entrees~ It's a must to have Chefs Famous Beef Wellington. Tonight's special was a Monk Fish Wellington with sautéed spinach and leeks. Beautiful plated, texture of fish was cooked to perfection. The aromatics when your dishes arrive will have your palate excited before you even taste. We indulged in dessert as Chef created a few of his masterpieces to share. One of the desserts is not on menu at all. Desserts~ Checkerboard Mousse, Carmel Apple Lavender Tart, I truly appreciate your hospitality Chef Vincent. You spoiled me and my guest tonight. Savoring every moment of this gastronomic delight.... Until next time

Chef Vincent has really out done himself with his signature Beef Wellington only served Saturdays. Greeted and seated quickly with a reservation booking. Service is always up to par. The setting is more intimate and quiet in the main dining area. Your welcome to try out the bistro market as well. Located right behind the main dining. This is a must try experience. In the Fall I love Chefs Scallops over Pumpkin purée.

food excellent, although $15 added to lobster bisque when we asked cherry to be replaced with cognac
Service is incompetent. There is no sommelier when wine price average is over $300. Very unqualified and moody staff.
On a Saturday night the main restaurant room was dark. Only few tables available. Seats are not very comfortable.

This is one of the best French country restaurants I've ever been to. I went for a corporate type event a couple of times, and was so impressed, took my family here for a celebratory dinner. The cuisine is authentic, and absolutely fantastic, which is actually underselling it. Our server was fluent in French, however his style of explaining the menu was a treat in and of itself. The price is steep, for a family of three will set you back $400-$500 with tip. For that very special occasion, it is worth IMHO.
