VERTS Mediterranean Grill

1 hour 9 minutes up I35 to get to one of my fave restaurants was worth it due to an unused credit, a bonus credit and a birthday treat. With that said, I would highly recommend their app/frequent buyer program.

Hubs and I basically echoed what was in each others bowls other than I added hummus and a side of cilantro sauce and he added babaganoush and a side of Tahziki. (Sorry for the poor attempts as spelling those)

With the above our Rice bowls with Falafel as the protein: sweet potatoes (a fall specialty seasoned to perfection), pickled jalapeños, cucumbers and tomato salad, chickpeas, and don't forget the green olives.

The birthday reward was a side of chips and hummus. Not much to write home about but a great addition to the meal.

This location has the worst parking lot ever. But they're pretty efficient and friendly. I like the South lamar location better I think...but you can't go wrong with whatever you get here. Simple, fresh and yummy

Tried to recreate the Verts original topping combo, but something is missing.

What I added:
Beef and Lamb
Mixed greens
Onions and peppers
Cabbage
Carrot slaw - new item
Cucumbers
House sauce
Spicy red sauce
Spicy cilantro

The meat doesn't taste the same either. No flavor boom like before.

Still good, but not as good.

This is a really nice place but unfortunately my experience today was not great.

Pros:
Food was very delicious and comparing it Shwarmer Point not bad at all. You have a choice of bread, wrap, etc. I chose the Texas version because cucumbers sounded delicious. The spicy sauce is just right and not too spicy.

They have local beer on tap. Plenty of healthy but tasty food to choose from. Even the on site manager gave us the brief history about the company. Being veterans we know what these places are like. The manager was very welcoming and kind. Told us everything we needed to know about the food and sides that come with it.

Cons:
They got our orders mixed up but you can tell the manager was busy training the two people who with her on site today. The two workers didn't seem too motivated other than the manager.

One of the workers was in the back didn't have his gloves on when he preparing/slicing the tomatoes. Then we caught the guy rubbing his hands on his apron and then touching the register. He noticed we were watching so he put his gloves before mixing up the carrots in a bin.

Parking I will have to agree is limited in the front of the shop but even in the area. So be prepared to scan for parking as you drive. I didn't realize the parking was that small in that area. LoL

Overall the food was delicious but to see that kind of stuff going on in the back had me worried about my own food I was eating.

First time at a Verts and it was delicious! Made my own bowl with rice, chicken, Quinoa, feta, veggies. Yummy!!

Food is decent, pricing is decent. Lot of healthy options to choose from. 30 minutes before close and the ingredient line looked messy and not cleaned. Employee working the counter was clearly ready to get out of there. Order was prepared fast though.

Quick, cheap, and delicious! I got the chicken kebap with all the veggies and both garlic and spicy red sauce (which wasn't very spicy). Everything was fresh and the chicken wasn't too greasy. Great spot for carry out.

This place was great! I had a pita w/ beef and lamb. I added eggplant dip (not going to repeat that), but the spicy cilantro was a good choice and will take that next time. The sweet potato fries were good too. My wife had a bowl with rice and quinoa mixed and falafel. She loved that combo too.

We will definitely be returning here.

One of the best fresh food restaurants in the area! Best place if you love the Mediterranean cuisine. Love the calories, protein and other nutritional values on their menu.

What happened Vert's? How can you be Mediterranean without Lamb? My favorite meal was with yall, I used to get the beef and lamb with practically everything. I didn't mind the extra cost, because it was delicious. Very disappointed.

I am giving 2 stars, because I have always appreciated the quality of the food here. I just can't justify 3 more if the hallmark of what makes a gyro is not available.
