My experience at this location was very different than the earlier Yelpers.
The most recent review is 11 months old, so perhaps Verizon has turned-around the performance at this location. I was very pleased with the courtesy and efficient customer service and technical assistance I received this morning from Dom. While i was there, I observed the Manager and the other Reps all engaged with customers who we receiving the help they needed. As people came into the store, they were greeted and placed in the queue.
As I entered the store, I was immediately greeted by Dom who promptly took care of my issue. I was porting an AT&T iPhone to an existing Verizon Family Plan and new iPhone 7. Not the easiest transaction to manage, but Dom handled it efficiently. He informed me about some promotions, but didn't hard sell me. Once he realized I just wanted the iPhone, he never mentioned it further.
He even gave me a tip on a Hot Dog joint in Melbourne.

I'm from out of town and I screwed around with my phone last night and stupidly signed up with V*s*ble - which claims to be an off shoot of regular Verizon- but much cheaper. Well, let me tell you- it's almost a scam unless you are very tech savvy. I'm no slouch but as I had a few questions ( seeing as all my calls were going to voicemail and I couldn't call out!! All I can say is customer service is much more important than price. Couldn't get a real human response. It said I was a customer and I ported my own number over but the FAQ was a waste and NO PHONE NUMBER OR PHYSICAL STORE made it terribly annoying. I went to the Verizon store on Merritt Island and was surprised and very pleased at the service I received from the employee ELBY. He was a rockstar! I lost my old phone number but we signed me up with Verizon again and I got the cheaper bill I needed to stay with this company. You get what you pay for. Don't switch!! ELBY wasn't pushy or trying to get me to come back- it was my decision, as my husband and home internet hadn't changed. I'm not moving to another firm again just to save a few coins. I don't know what other people's experiences are here but I was more than pleased- even better service than back home . I highly recommend going to see ELBY if you ever want to change from Verizon. You will find it won't be worth the trouble. Stick with your Verizon and if you think it's expensive- the aggravation you will suffer switching to an unproven company will make you realize, as I did, it's better to stick with a name brand carrier than try to change.

I usually hate phone stores. I'm so tired of the upsells and hidden threats ("if you don't buy the insurance and it breaks you will have to pay $$$$$ but you know that's up to you..."). Then when something breaks or malfunctions they almost do gymnastics to avoid helping you. Y'all know what I mean.
Anyway...: this place wasn't like that. They actually helped me. They were efficient even though the solution turned out to be complicated and not a typical "fix".
I am impressed. It would actually be worth my time to drive a long way to get to this store instead of going to one that is closer but is a typical place where the workers walk around glassy eyed and practice coming up with new ways to tell people "no".Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

First off Steve needs a raise, while transferring data/ service to a new phone somehow I wasn't receiving data to make calls/ texts. Spent over two hours with three different representatives over the phone and one in store that couldn't help at all. Went to this corporate store and Steve fixed what 4 people couldn't in less than 5 minutes. Thank you Steve !

This is my experience with this store twice in recent years. I bought a low-end smart phone from them a few years ago. The man who helped me transfer my information grew an attitude when I couldn't remember the password to my gmail account (I never use it). He told me (in a snarky, dismissive voice) to choose a password that I could remember this time. I figured, at that point, when he sat back in his chair and started playing with his own phone, that I was becoming a "good-riddance" type of customer.
I recently bought another phone (a Motorola) off Amazon and had trouble transferring all my stuff over from the old phone (a Samsung). I walked into the Verizon store asking for help. A rep spent about 10 minutes with me, giving me advice on how to download my stuff ("You'll need to contact tech support"). Most of the time, he all but scolded me for buying a "Third party phone." The attitude was, "Well, what can you expect?"
Several days later, after being unsuccessful with tech support and fixing my main problem on my own (I didn't have the ability to receive texts), I drove to Satellite Beach to a Verizon contractor and the young woman there (all of 20?) took about 15 minutes to set up and transfer everything from my old phone to my new one. She saw within the first minute that I had an old sim card and that was the source of the problem of not receiving texts. You'd think Verizon Corporate and Verizon tech support would have known to ask that first, as well?
Satellite Beach is quite a bit further to drive, but their attitude still matched mine: "I'm still a Verizon customer, even if I didn't buy a phone from them!" I'll take the time to drive a bit further for excellent customer service - which is what I did NOT receive the couple times I went to the Merritt Island store.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Business owner information

They will rush you out the door without making sure your new phone works. None of the employees know how to properly activate a phone. DO NOT buy a phone here!

I came in an hour and a half before they were closing to get a brand new phone. The employees were all super super super nice and funny. They were very helpful and kept me informed on prices and what I would be paying. This was by far, my favorite Verizon and I have been to a lot.

JEFF IS AWESOME. He was very patient with both my technologically impaired grandma and mother. He was very thorough when explaining how to back up phone contents on the cloud and we actually enjoyed the customer service experience because of him!
