Back in Maui again for a short vacation. Got to drop off my girl for a few hours while I relax in the area.

For the guys you can head to the mall or hit some surf spots right down the street. Also the skate park is just a few moments down the road.

We had a very good experience here getting mani/pedi combos with massage for the holidays for me and my parents. Linda was especially helpful in being attentive with my dad who has a disability. Service was careful, professional and cheerful. Our hands and feet looked and felt great. I also appreciated getting to watch Monday Night Football while soaking my feet. Somehow the nail salons I've been to elsewhere don't have tv's tuned in to sports. There may be a whole untapped market out there that Van Beauty Salon is poised to access.

When we compared notes, Mom had received less arm and leg massage than I did, so my recommendation to others is... ask for more massage if you don't think you got enough!

Conveniently located near Ah Fook's (for your asian and local grocery needs). Lots of parking.

I've been to many different places but it didn't last very long even though u pay extra for the gel. My last visit lasted me over a month.
Plus she makes designs as you want: cute, elegant, etc. u name it. I've lived on Maui for 5 yrs and she's the only one I found to be the best!
She is so thorough, clean cuticles, i have nothing bad to say about her.

Place for years even before this owner. I can't believe she even owns a business. I've been in here prior to 3:51 Pm right now is 5:09 pm and all I have is a pedicure and basic French tip pedicure and I'm still not done and out of the chair.
I Had to scratch my design and scratch my gel tips because they took forever in a day and the only thing the boss could say was "come in the morning like you used to be!"

I paid 45.00 for a basic French tip pedicure for nothing more. Don't waste your time go somewhere else!

The workers with the exception of Vi don't do designs well oh I'm sorry there is a guy who is awesome I forget his name but he was forced to do my nails once but they won't allow him to do my nails again because their greedy and don't want him taking clients!
By the time I checked out it was after 5:30PM.

Avoid this place and go some where of more quality!

I had been putting off treating my swollen hands and feet to what I was hoping to be a great mani/pedi. My experience at this salon was definitely a miss and I left so disappointed!

I had two different girls working on my mani/pedi. Nancy was the kind lady who did my mani w/ Shellac and she was absolutely wonderful! She made sure that I was relaxed and comfortable, happy with the length of my nails, etc. Just the sweetest thing! Although she was great, it was my pedicurist that made it hard for me to even enjoy Nancy's excellent client service.

My pedicure experience was terrible! I don't remember her name, but I do remember that she had a naturally pissed off look on her face and close to 5 inches of regrowth to her highlights. She was SO rude the ENTIRE time! She rushed through the pedicure when there wasn't even anyone there, talking on her cell phone, rolled her eyes and made obvious comments in Vietnamese if I asked her to fix something on my toes, her massage lasted no more than a minute, etc. It was just terrible... my feet needed some TLC and that's the last thing I got. Unfortunately, I don't remember her name... but I will remember not to go back to her IF I ever decide to go back to Van Beauty Salon.

Next time I'll make sure to go to Nancy or Mimi, who a lot of people have been recommending. My visit to this salon was last Thursday and I'm still so bummed that I wasted my precious time and money there!

Oh vans (Star nails) is there new name located right next to Asian cuisine. Ladies I gave you another chance and you failed me I am very PICKY about my nail color and took me sometime to pick a color. The manager proceeded to shove me aside and hand me nail palettes with colors and said " we have other clients so hurry up and pick a color" Mcscuse me?....then the tech f@@@@ my nails, she rushed and missed areas. As we all know Maui doesn't have much selection but I WILL not come back here EVER, firm believer in second Chances but not a third...sorry ladies. I don't get my nails done very often, except for special occasions. My best friend is getting married so we scheduled an appointment for 6 ladies for a mani and pedi for a wedding. We went in with high expectations for service, sanitation and overall experience.

For my mani, I got gel French tips nails. I'm not even close to being satisfied. My gel nails came out rippled and blotchy, blemishes which you can clearly see. My French tips are crooked, uneven in thickness, and highly dissimilar. I constantly told the lady the discrepancies, so she tried to fix it. She just could not fix it and get it right.

My pedi....worst service ever. My friend next to me was also doing her pedi. Initially, we both had nail polish on our toes. The nail tech went to my friend first and used a cotton ball to take off her nail polish. This same nail tech used the SAME cotton ball she used on my friend, to take off my nail polish on my toes. That made me feel so disgusted. No sanitation whatsoever. It's just gross. He didn't even take off all the polish on my nails and instead smeared the red polish all over my toes. Ugh.

To top it off, the lady who helped me next was extremely rude. I wanted to get my toes done in a cranberry color. The nail tech responded, "Are you sure you want this color? It's a holiday color. I would rather do blue or green. " She went to grab a couple of those colors and came back with a Shrek green and eggshell blue. I was so upset and offended. I didn't know that she had a choice. It's for my best friend's wedding....I'm paying for these services, I did NOT ask for her opinion. How rude. Another lady ended up doing my nails. She tried putting my sandals on for me and ended up ruining my nail polish. She tried fixing it just by putting clear coat.....

Extremely unsanitary, rude nail techs and the worst service and overall experience. I would not recommend! If I could, I would give 0 stars.

I read another review about Mimi being great and called for an appointment. I wasn't dissappointed. She was fantastic, gave me a better cleaning that usual and a foot massage that lasted a looooong time -- my favorite part. The polish looks great and I'll definitely be back.

PS: Linda (who was also recommended) doesn't work there anymore.

Pedicures are not bad and they give you a cold bottled water which is nice. However... I recently went there to get my acrylic nails removed that I put on for a wedding. This lady's method was to use the dremel tool on a high setting to sand off the acrylics AND my natural nails too!! Some of my nails or so incredibly thin and sensitive now because of this. This is the first time I've ever seen someone remove acrylics by drilling then off. Some spots are not even level because of where she sanded my natural nails off. It'll be months before my nails fully recover from this! NEVER going there again!

Its my 1st visit......so far I digs it. Its affordable and what Im use to coming from California. I will definitely be back, I would like to try the eyelash extensions and body massage next.
