If I can give these wack ass hell so called landscapers a rating it will be -5 since we changed landscapers at Mosaic Apartments in Oxnard Brightview/valley crest has been letting every single tree die, they let the plants die on purpose or they just pull them out on purpose for no reason so they can charge extra to replace them, they over water plants in pots and let them die, IT IS RARE WHEN YOU SEE THEM ON THE PROPERTY, all they do is sit their lazy asses down and eat half of the time they are there, the supervisor Tony is more of a stupervisor just like everyone else in brightview/valley crest he doesn't do shhh. The owner should just stop the business it's horrible landscape company that isn't worth nothing. Glad we're gonna give them the boot soon

      Yet another Irvine gem!

Thanks for sticking us with what I deem to be the absolute worst gatdamn service I've ever received from a "landscape maintenance" company (AKA gardeners) ever in the history of "The Big Bore," that is Irvine.

My neighbor is a really old retired World War II Purple Heart Veteran who has suffered a heart attack, and I'm always being called over to his place (yes, like that freaky Donald Sutherland movie), in order to sweep all the leaves, grass, and debris these guys leave behind.

They use their leaf-blowers like you'd expect an animated squirrel in a 1980's SEGA video game would - flailing them about as if they are killing off invisible zombies by the hundreds. At the end of the day, they blow tons of cut grass and dust all over the newly washed parked cars, and blow all the crap from the street right up to your doorstep as opposed to blowing things "awaaaay from the hayouse (house), Archie," as my old friend says to me. Both of our doormats are covered in grass and debris, and the streets look like Haddonfield, IL right before Michael Myers wreaks havoc - leaves everywhere... and not just in Autumn.

Turns out my old pal has recently discovered the net and he's been writing them, both on their site, and has had correspondence with a couple of their "managers," who have basically given him the run-around. Way'ta treat a retired WWII vet who "fought the trash" better than you have.

I'm tired of going over there and cleaning up after you, Valley Crest. You need to properly train your teams. And instead of continuously asking my old friend Mr. Claiborne for his "exact address" when he has given you the street, maybe you should take some of that money this idiotic association pays you and invest in a 30-minute "how to" session with your "landscape artists."

What my favorite part of this whole game is, is that they come on different days every week. It's like it's a BIG surprise, or a game of "Leaf & Debris Russian Roulette." So yeah, go spend the time and money to get that car washed and an hour after work in order to clean up the front of your house really well... because tomorrow you might be THE BIG WINNER!

Welcome to my world. You're just another reason to stay out of Irvine.

      F-

This company has poor management, staff and from what it looks like all around business ethics. I haven't even gotten landscaping done, but this review is solely for the laborers and office Staff-particularily the Ventura location on Sherwin Avenue. I called, wrote another bad review on Google and emailed to no avail. I'm still running into the same harassment problems, this company has so many workers, they park all over the street I'm not sure why a company this big doesn't have a private lot these people are lames? I've complained like I said, and somebody said they're covering the situation, but to no avail. Freakin' clowns.

New name, same crappy service. They've re-branded as BrightView, undoubtedly an attempt to whitewash the stench of the Valley Crest name.

Well our grass is still dead, trash and debris litter the drives, and the workers spend most of their time sitting in a sweet 'clubhouse' they took over in the upper level of the development. Awhile back they re-landscaped our lower pool area, an embarrassingly amateurish job we paid big money for on top of their ridiculous monthly fee. It's seems their master plan is to let everything die, and then bury the remains in wood chips.

They are supposedly month-to-month, but over a year later they are still here. Wonder if an HOA board member is lining their pockets...........

This company is called BrightView now. They are horrible. Poor customer service and the gardeners are not attentive at all. I am on the board of directors for a condo complex they served and they killed a lot of plants, trees and grass all over our common areas. Juan was our manager and he does not return calls, doesn't care and is rude when you point out mistakes.

These are not aborists, they are butchers. We hired them to trim about 400 trees. First they started at the peak of nesting season. Next they took really nice 15-20' trees and hacked them down to 2' sticks that looks really bad and died after a few months. They damaged surrounding landscape material. They blew debris into people's backyards to avoid having to haul it back and left piles of debris in places until I complained and they came back to clean it.

They were low bid and the in this case, we got more than we bargained for. The question now is do we pay them, do we sue for damages. If it was all up to me, both.

If I ended up like Will Smith in I am Legend and I needed to cut my grass to save humanity I would rather use a pair of scissors and cut every single blade of grass one by one on my own than call the Brickman Group/Valleycrest for help. They'd probably cut the wrong lot, damage my property and then overcharge me.

Actually, I have not experienced better since "landscaping" in So Cal is dismal. Someone once described it to me as "outdoor janitorial service". Too many unqualified latinos. It's NOT how fast you can do it, but how WELL you can do it. Using buzz saws and power mowers and blowers, ripping out the drought tolerant, and letting the plants that need water DIE does not impress me. Throwing a gas powered mower and a rake in the back of a dumpy truck does not qualify you to work on plants.

The man who started this business was admirable. But, they are no longer worthy of the reputation that he built. And, their recent merger is laughable and pathetic.

I never see their trucks around the city anymore. I don't consider gardening to be stump removal and use of a chipper shredder.

Don't hire someone and ask for a commitment of at least 6 months when it is your intention to lay them off at that point because you only hired them to work out the last 6 months of another persons job.

You get what you pay for. You think that caring for plants is only worth half minimum wage paid under the table? Your results are in your landscape and "gardens".They can just keeping mowing over and breaking your sprinklers.

ValleyCrest Landscaping has ruined the grass in Playa Vista.

The grass is usually 6-7 inches high. All throughout Playa Vista is patchy, horrific grass and the "landscapers" or those in charge apparently don't know how to maintain grass.

ValleyCrest, how could you possibly be pleased with your work? Go walk around, look at how horrible the grass looks! How could you realistically be OK with this being your work? It's been going on for 6+ months and your team in charge clearly isn't capable of fixing the incredibly high amount of patches, random weeds and tall grass and overall poor work throughout the community.

This wasn't always the case and it's unfortunate nobody is taking the time to correct it. I hope someone in management takes the time to go to Playa Vista, look around, and be true to themselves in assessing the horrible display of "landscaping" that is going on.

Horrendous arborists. Valley Crest - without our consent/approval/input - removed our 25-40 year old trees when the Space Shuttle came through in 2012. They were supposed to replace 2 trees for every one tree removed within a year. After no follow-up on their behalf and many phone calls, they finally replaced them with some jacaranda twigs 15 months later. And they aren't even maintaining those. Monique at the Science center told me on Monday that an arborist would be sent out to see about my "sick/dead/dying" tree. It's Friday and not a soul has come out and both Valley Crest and the Science Center do not answer their phones. A poor way to do business under any circumstances.

The City of Los Angeles, the Science Center, and Valley Crest came into the community and destroyed what took years to build then they are now all shirking responsibility.
