The bread here is sooooo good ! I live in Washington Heights and travel all the way to east Harlem just to get some ! In fact I'm going to Connecticut for a couple of days and I'm stopping by to pick up some bread before I leave in the morning I looked them up to see the store hours.
Coming across Mexican Bakery was a new experience for me. I have never had an experience of having baked goods from Mexican Bakeries before visiting Vallecito Bakery. (Even though I visited Mexico for 2 times, I haven't stepped into authentic Mexican Bakeries!!) I have tried Chinese Bakeries, Korean Bakeries, Japanese Bakeries... Greek, Italian, French.. numerous bakeries except Mexican..SO I HAD TO TRY Vallecito.
The warmth of freshly baked goods could be smelled even before entering of the place. All the breads are baked fresh (just super duper fresh and warmmm...mhmmm ) and it also offers variety.
My personal favorite is breakfast taco sold by the counter area. There are three flavors: mushroom, chicken, and pork. I tried mushroom and ended up eating all 5 of them in one spot (so good... and warm... )
Def. recommend trying for once! The store also offers Mexican groceries. (Make sure to bring cash!)
Never again so rude keep you waiting no one asking if you need help went in to purchase baked goods no tongs no bags was I supposed to grab the breads and muffins bare hand poor customer service
I love this place!!! best "conchas" ever.
All kinds of real mexican bread and super fresh. I had my "Rosca de Reyes" there and I loved it. They have a lof of mexican products, the only thing I didn't like was the " sabritas" because there weren't fresh.
Best Mexican bakery! This bakery has SO much variety, and it's all baked fresh in the back! My favorite is the round roll with the cinnamon sugar spread on top, it's soft and fluffy and not too sweet, I have no idea what it's called (conche?). I'd give this place 5 stars because it smells so good and had so much but there's one big problem for people who aren't Spanish speaking, you get overwhelmed! None of the goods are labeled in English so you don't know what's what? Especially the baked stuff. I'd LOVE to try more stuff but the pieces are huge and I've got no idea what they are, or if they have a filling but that's not gonna stop me from trying the giant pink bread (next time). So if you speak Spanish this is the place for you to get some very fresh baked goodies, if you don't then start with my favorite sweet bun and a cup of coffee. They have loads of other things as well. You won't be disappointed.
Living much closer to their Elmhurse location, stumbled upon this location's somewhat stealth sliding door below some serious signage. Narrow space and some solid, flaky rosquilla.
Amazing bread! Soft and fresh, once you go inside, it's in the back passing the counter. You can get the tongs in the counter so you can pick the bread and place them onto one of the trays or in the plastics bags next to the bread.
This place has the most amazing mexican breads! Then on top of that they have practically any kind of mexican specialty product you would need to make traditional mexican foods.
I stop in all the time for the Mango Vero Chile pops!
Best Mexican bakery thus far in Manhattan... even counting Brooklyn! The conchas has TRUE flavor not just a ball of bread. The "monas" are hollowed like they should be. Have great pops and all the TRUE Mexican goodies you can think of.
