Upper Crust Pizzeria & Restaurant

Ugh. Won't be coming back. With as many trips as my husband and I have made up and down West Chester Pike, I'm not sure why this was the first time we ever noticed this place but we finally did. I'm sorry we did. We didn't let its hole-in-the-wall appearance deter us because we've had a lot of good food from places that looked rundown. Unfortunately, this wasn't one of those places. It was awful from start to finish. The tap water tasted bad, the too-warm salad tasted so strange that I only took a few bites before giving up and even my vegetarian husband wouldn't finish it. I'm writing this weeks after our meal, so I can't remember exactly what we had, but I know it was terrible. I believe I suffered through some very fatty roast beef that tasted strange. and I know I couldn't eat my applesauce because it was bad. I don't mean I didn't like the taste, I mean it was old and had turned and should have been thrown out. It reminded me of the time a family member's chest freezer died and they didn't catch it until all of the food in it had gone off. They threw out the food and scrubbed the freezer, but everything that ever came out of it afterward tasted of the stench that hung around that freezer until it was finally thrown out. Our meals weren't quite on that level, but I did have to wonder about the condition of this restaurant's cold storage. Absolutely awful.

I've tried to order from this restaurant on Uber eats twice and the restaurant has cancelled the order both

I had chicken noodle soup and shish kebob platter. All good so far. Also, the staff members don't wear masks, which they have the right not to and I'm glad for that. They also have good service! I'm hoping more people and businesses follow their example and avoid getting health problems from mask-wearing. I'll come back again!

Terrible food. Delivery came cold. They missed 2 items and when I called to report, no one answered the phone. I tell my neighbor the story the following day and she says to me, no one ever orders from that place!

Growing up in the Square, Upper Crust is probably my first pizza place. Decades later, it's become my goto spot for breakfast sandwiches! They do a great breakfast here, and the sandwiches are affordable and delicious! I get the bacon egg and cheese on the long roll regularly, while my bro likes the sausage egg and cheese. Either way, they do a good breakfast here so check it out if you get a chance, pancakes, french toast, fried potatoes...It's a nice spread...

I've been ordering cheesteaks and strombolis here since I worked at the Edgemont Atlantic on 3 and providence road (now part of YBH) in the early 90s. Both are fantastic, altho it has been a while since I had one of their bolis...

Ordered delivery food arrived about 40 minutes later. No so bad but I had 2 orders of fries which weren't in proper containers therefore they were pretty cold. Ordered a pepperoni pizza well done. It wasn't not well done at all.
The taste was pretty good I just really love when I order something well don't forget it to be that way. Especially when I viewed photos of other pizza that looked well done and the customer complained it was too dark. Would probably give them another try if I were to pick the food up rather than a delivery. Store is only 8 minutes from my home so I was a bit surprised to find food not hot

I ordered an Italian salad with house dressing.

The lettuce wasn't the usual spring mix and the house dressing wasn't the same either. The house dressing use to taste like the way my grandmother would make it.

Very disappointed when reaching out to the old owners to find out it has changed hands.

Salad was okay but not what I expected.

I had a slice. It was perfection. The kind of thing you taste in the city then long for, try to recapture and are terribly disappointed over and over until you almost give up, but you try once more and there it is! The thin crispy crust, sauce not too sweet and well seasoned, cheese gooey but not too stringy, fold in half and hold just right so it doesn'tdrip on your arm. And with a cold beer and very nice staff, PERFECT!

This is the best pizza in Newtown Square IMO. I can't wait to go back!

Whenever I'm back East, grabbing a cheese steak with sweet peppers is a must! Upper Crust fits the bill. Tasty, not greasy, clean local spot with good service.

Best breakfast place in the area. Service is top notch and food is priced reasonably. Overall it is a great experience.
