Loved going to school here. The town is a wonderful and always changing. The campus is large and beautiful, with varying scenery both old and new. Mizzou you rock!

This university is all Greek. There is not much to do unless you are in a fraternity or sorority. The town is very depressing and impoverished. It's difficult to make friends here. The students study ALL week long and binge drink on the weekends.. I mean serious drinking. I've seen freshman come in and rush a fraternity and become alcoholics within 6 months. There is little diversity. Most students tend to be from white middle class backgrounds. There is a Catholic church on campus which I find to be strange. If you are not Catholic or in a fraternity or sorority you are ostracized. It's cliquish like high school. Have I said enough to convince you not to waste your money by coming here?

Beautiful campus. Cool city. Amazing Rec center. Academically garbage.
Note: Graduated in 2012. My review is heavily skewed toward the business school, but applicable to many.
Student body: Lacks any form of diversity, intellectual, cultural or demographic. The vast majority of students are from St. Louis, still only hang out with their childhood friends, and always ask 'where did you go to high school?' The J-school holds some element of intellectual diversity.
Academics (Business School): Seriously lacking. The majority of professors graduated from sub-par universities and never had REAL WORLD experience. The same managing faculty has been in place for 20+ years, and only care about maintaining the status quo- NOT to change things for the better. Quite out of touch with anything current, this is evident in their rankings free-fall.
Career Opportunities (Business School): Non existent. Minimal companies offered internships or interviewed on campus. Missouri isn't a growing state, and companies in STL and KC usually favor recruiting from the local colleges. Mizzou just isn't that good to really attract great companies from far away. Except accounting- that program is very solid and attracts top firms.
Campus: Amazing. The columns are unbeatable. The spring and fall are incredible. The rec center is something I still miss every day. You just can't beat it. Columbia is a cool and small town, and downtown is one of my favorites. Plenty of great outdoor areas abound.
Overall, I met some great people (but had to work hard to find them), and had a great time in college & Columbia, but the high cost, awful academics and negative outcome made it one giant regret.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Rochelle K.Chillicothe, MO135397615Jun 21, 2019
MI worked hard to make all of the parents feel welcome and arranged sessions for us to learn what we need to help our kids be prepared. If you are sending your child off to Mizzou you must attend the summer welcome. It is very helpful!

Old Missouri, Fair Missouri, Dear Old Varsity. Ours are hearts that fondly love thee, here's a health to thee.
Just a little snippet of Mizzou's alma mater definitely expresses how I feel about the one, the only, University of Missouri. A proud graduate of Class of 2003, I am and always will be a True Tiger. Living in South Florida, I don't get to travel back to Columbia as often as I'd like, but when I do, a stroll through campus - red and white - is definitely mandated. It's impressive to see the renovations to the older buildings, the new buildings coming up, and all the exciting things Mizzou has to offer.
There's nothing better than staring down the Quad at the Columns, with Jesse Hall standing proudly in the background. I took it all for granted when I was a young undergrad, but on return visits, I have grown to appreciate every moment.
Mizzou continues to grow by leaps and bounds, and every year continues to churn out the best and the brightest. And with the move to the SEC conference, us fans living deep in SEC territory will be able to get our fill of Mizzou's football and basketball games on national (or regional) networks. What's not to love about that?!
I'll forever sport the black and gold with pride, and will teach young and old the best cheer around - M-I-Z! ... Z-O-U!!!!Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Jess S.Chicago, IL1175687May 5, 2008
I can't speak about the academics but this campus is gorgeous. Clean and well-maintained. The student amenities are insane (i.e. the rec center). Beautiful old buildings. Gotta love the Columns.
Puts my old stomping grounds to shame (that would be the University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign).Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 5Oh no 0 - Lisa W.San Diego, CA8524737Feb 2, 2008
I just have to give 5 stars because they employed both of my parents for over 30 years. Thanks to that, I was exposed to a ton of international students, food, fun & frolic, not to mention departmental politics (appropriate for the Poli Sci department, no?!).
And 5 stars b/c their wages have financed so much for me!
Go Mizzou...Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Sheila B.Elgin, IL0611Jun 15, 2017
Our son went here from 2012-16 and we can't say enough good about it. He received a good education for a decent price, and got a good job with an NBA team (he majored in sport management) within three months of graduation. The campus is absolutely beautiful and is well-maintained, even the old buildings. Students are friendly and very pro-Mizzou, with the exception of the few troublemakers who were there last year, but we understand that things have settled down now. Lots of amenities, lots of things to do. There's the MKT Trail, the amazing student rec center, concerts, art shows, and of course, Mizzou sports. Lots of academic support for students who need it. It's the whole package.

My daughter will be starting school here in August 2012 so it's hard to predict the final results. I'll update the review in 10 - 15 years.
With that said the campus is nothing short of beautiful. Kudos to the Board of Trustees and all for achieving this result. Impressive.
I also love the attitude of the people on the campus and at Mizzou - wonderful. Not saying the people of Chicago ain't friendly - but here people are smiling and laughing all the time. How nice!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Matthew P.Berkeley, CA5441048Feb 9, 2009
Sure I went here for only 1 day, but all -- I mean all-- my friends from high school went here and they all turned out kinda okay.
It's a beautiful place with usually pretty friendly people. I love Columbia and MU makes up for a large chunk of it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sylvester T.Saint Louis, MO1186295234Oct 19, 2011
