Taxi Cab & Airport Shuttle

This was my first bad taxi experience in Portland. We were charged at least 25% more than I have ever paid for this same route, between the airport and my home. This cab was first in line at the airport, and the others behind it all looked like they were from the same company.
I could see, even when we were not near my house (I live 10-15 minutes from the airport), that the price was already higher than any fare I've paid.
The driver then became argumentative and nasty, and really carried on about not receiving a enough tip. If you rip people off, don't expect them to be happy and give you a big tip.
I'd call the company, but I can see from what others have written that it would only add to the unpleasant experience of dealing with this company.
So, I'm warning others: don't use this company.

Avoid. Incompetent. Unreliable.
I ordered an early morning ride to PDX 3 days in advance and driver was a total no show. Called their number and answering machine. Left a msg. No call back from driver or dispatch. Not even a "sorry." Would never use them again. Maybe if they're at the curb that's one thing but otherwise they might blow you off like they did me!

We had a great experience using United Taxi & PDX Shuttle both ways for our recent trip. The email, phone, and text communication/responses were super quick. The price was very reasonable for our large group, and the driver called to confirm that we would all fit with our luggage ahead of time. He was super friendly, on time, and had a nice, clean vehicle. Will definitely use this service in the future!

AMAZING service from the initial call to make the reservation to the ride to the airport. I called all cab companies in Portland to try to arrange a ride to the airport (the night before). United Taxi was the only cab company able to commit to taking my son to the airport in Portland's winter/snow weather. The gentleman on the phone was very nice and assured me they would be there for a 5:30am pickup. The cab driver was there at 5:20am and got my son to the airport in plenty of time. If I ever need a taxi in the future, I will always call United taxi first. Top notch customer service!

Great service. Always on time. Have used for many (more than 10) trips to airport and now call direct to driver for scheduling.
Sometimes cabs are dispatched through a system and it is the system that fails, not the independent driver. He has always been there for me even at last minute flight needs.

Extremely bad customer service and dishonest. In July I reserved an airport shuttle from Hood River to Portland Airport for 7:30 AM. Shortly after 7:30, I called to find out why the shuttle was late, and the dispatcher said the driver was 10 or 15 minutes away. This continued, I kept calling and each time the dispatcher said the driver was 10 or 15 minutes away. Finally, at 9 AM (one and a half hours late), I found another way to get to the airport. Several days later, one of the managers of this business called me and said that because I did not stick around, I had cancelled and was required to pay the full amount. Each time I pointed out to him that an airport shuttle arriving 90 minutes late is unacceptable, he would repeat some policy they had that said if the driver showed up, no matter how late, they had to be paid. I was very angry that not only did the shuttle arrive 90 minutes late, but the dispatcher kept on stringing me along saying the driver was only 10 or 15 minutes away, and finally the manager insisting that I had cancelled the trip. The manager said that they would charge me half the amount of the trip, which I said I would not pay.

I found out later that they charged my credit card the full amount of the trip. I disputed the charge through my credit card. I just found out that my credit card company denied my dispute because the company said that the driver arrived only 30 minutes late (when in fact it was 90 minutes late). Another demonstration of the dishonesty of this company.

NEVER Again!

Get in Taxi at the airport, about a block away he explains that his meter is broken, so he asked me to put my address into his phone for him then calculate the costs plus $6 in mysterious airport fees for him based on a sticker in his window .
Even though it was pouring rain I told him to let me out.
He did not.
His mileage rates were going to add up to more than a 60% higher than I have ever paid any taxi to or from the airport! I told him this was not fair or reasonable, he explained that some taxi companies charge more. Then he said he was happy to take me home for free. I told him I would pay him what I paid everyone else (and then, because I didn't have change... he ended up getting more than I've ever paid for the exact same trip and route)!
There was no visible ID in the taxi so I could report him, I was ready to call 911 . I was texting family and video taping in case I didn't get home.

Then instead of getting my suitcase he started giving me a manipulative sob story about working for a living, as if I don't. I got my own suitcase out of his trunk, paid him and it was waaay more than fair. He wanted me to go over the numbers with him again on his phone but I just walked away. I'm furious, and may still call the police. I'd give them zero stars if I could.

Don't be their next hostage!

We have been using Zach for airport shuttle for years and never had an issue. He shows up on time all hours and even accommodated us with car seats when needed. Once, we even tried to help us find our cat at 4 am in the rain. He's a great guy!

Called 7 cab companies & nobody could pick me up in less than 30 minutes. This guy promised 8, kept his promise AND gave me a deal to downtown.
