Q:
Is this a 21yr old and above only kind of venue?
A:
Maybe during evenings and weekends, but any age can come and eat. I think it's more meant for college students though.

Ahhhh, one of my favorite places in the city, and today is the last day they're open.
Love the crowd, the neighborhood, the beer, and especially the burgers. Seriously one of the best burgers in the city.

Two Bells is a hole in the wall kind of bar if I've ever seen one.
We came in around lunchtime on a Friday to celebrate a coworker on his last day. Aka we came for beers.
I ended up getting a blackberry (or maybe it was blueberry...) cider. It was BOMB, and I only had 2 and ended up getting pretty tipsy, let me tell you.
I had just a classic cheeseburger if I remember correctly, and it was delicious. This place can make some mean burgers, so if you're ever in the craving for one, head here!
I can't say much for prices as a coworker of mine paid for everybody. However, I can say that if you're looking for a super lowkey lunch or bar to hang out at, this is the place! I saw that they also have a beer garden in the back as well. - 44371179181926/1/2014
The best of the Belltown Pubs hands down!
Those looking for a beer and phenomenal cheeseburger you wanna find your way to The Two Bells Tavern... I've tried to figure out the secret to the flavor but cannot, it's so good I just continue to show up for one. Should you be looking for another hidden gem of this joint its the daily home made soups they serve that really rock this joint. Â
I'm sure you'll fall in love with The Two Bells not only for the food but the eclectic atmosphere you can sit back and relax in.Business owner information

Thanks for your support. I have been working here since 2002, and love to hear from fans of our burgers and soups. My goal is to promote a neighborly environment which regulars and newbies alike can appreciate. Feedback like this assures me that we have done well! Thanks again!

We were looking for a place to have a pre-race dinner and found Two Bells Tavern just up the street from our Airbnb. The bartender greeted and directed us to sit anywhere. For a Friday night, the place was fairly empty with only a handful sitting at the bar and then us.
Scanning through the one page menu we opted for the chicken sandwich ($11.95) and ahi Caesar salad ($14.95). The chicken sandwich was the favorite of the two. The boneless chicken breast was tender and the marinade for it was perfect. They use french baguettes for their sandwiches and burgers; a little different but it works. The side cup of chili was very good. The ahi Caesar on the other hand was not so great. The only positive thing about the ahi Caesar was the portion size. The bowl of greens could feed at least three people, maybe four. The negatives: the ahi was grilled too long making it dry and chewy, green leaf lettuce was used instead of romaine, and the Caesar dressing lacked its garlic, anchovy flavor. We were paying nearly $15 for the salad but in the end we just couldn't finish the ahi.
Service was attentive but oddly we felt rushed to order, eat, and leave. Maybe that was just the bartender's way of being attentive. The bar itself has some unique decorations and if you can look pass the sub par cleanliness of the place it's really not all that bad. I can't say I would be a regular if I lived nearby but I would stop in again to order the chicken sandwich and soup just for me. - 631461352312/27/2017Updated review
So very sad to hear that they are closing. Another piece of true Seattle being shoved out by corporate development. Â Two Bells will truly be missed.
7/4/2012Previous reviewThis is always the place to pre-func before a show at the Crocodile. Â Beer, shots, cocktails, reasonably priced food that sticks to your ribs, giant pine air freshener, and a stuffed armadillo, what else do you need in a tavern? Â Definitely one of my favorite spots in Belltown since it is not packed with poser hipsters and "woo" girls. Love this place so please stay away unless you're just someone looking for a relaxed place to grab a burger and some brews.

I came with a friend and ordered some items to go. The clam chowder was good. I wasn't too happy with the burger though.
If you work anywhere between Pioneer Square and Westlake most restaurants are grab and go. I think Belltown has a different concept of time. You will spend most of your lunch break waiting for your to-go order. You may be late for work. - Michael P.Seattle, WA09655912/21/2017
"It is with a heavy heart that we announce that Two Bells Bar and Grill will be closing its doors. ... Â It has truly been our pleasure to serve this community."
Cripes what sad, sad news. Always counted on Two Bells to be a refuge for many years. RIP. - Brandon G.Lacey, WA722111236/21/2017
Ok little establishment. Probably perfect for college students. The food is ok, but nothing to be shocked about.
I was visiting the Seattle campus area and decided to try out Two Bells for dinner. We came in and sat down, then waited a fair amount of time to order. I overheard that there's a long wait because of the short staff which is understandable. I ordered a Mac and cheese with chicken and bacon. What I really like is that the waiter knows how to make a John Daly(my favorite drink lol), but I decided to make a simple rum and coke. Â
After a somewhat long wait, my food arrived and immediately dug in. I like how they toasted the Mac and cheese while the cheese inside was hot, soft and gooey, but the meal itself was a bit tasteless.
Overall, Two Bells is a perfect spot for college students, but I know I won't frequent there mainly because I don't live near Seattle. - Matt H.Belltown, Seattle, WA541/16/2017
How can I even begin to write about the Bells? Â I mean, this is really hard- I've been a regular here practically since I moved to this city.
Let's just start with the story of the first time I went there. Â Jules was bartending that night, and I ordered an Elysian Loser IPA. Â Since the bar doesn't have a POS terminal, they keep your tab on a handwritten ticket. So naturally, Jules wrote the beer down on my tab: "Loser- 1". It took me far too long to realize that she was not, in fact, labelling me a "loser". I have yet to live that one down.
It only took a few times going by to meet most of the regulars, and a few more to become one myself. Â In the five years I've haunted the Bells, I've met some great friends, and yes, gotten kicked out a couple times. (Which I deserved. Â Hey, it happens.)
It's the "Cheers" of Belltown. You go there to see Dave do terrible impressions of celebrities. Â You go there to throw popcorn and make loud snarky comments while watching awful movies on VHS. Â You go there to draw on the picnic tables on the patio in the summer and huddle under the umbrellas in the rain during the winter. Â You go there on a rainy night to sit and play a game of chess, even though you're blackout drunk and you can't quite remember how pawns move.
You go there to sing "O Canada" really poorly- and then, when the Canadians yell at you for singing it so badly, you challenge them to a national-anthem-sing-off and eventually get someone coming out to the patio to tell you to shut the fuck up because people in the apartments next door called in to complain. Â (That's when you start loudly complaining about people that call bars to complain about the noise.)
Sometimes, you go there just to look at the pictures of smiling regulars from back in the 80's, and realize that some places can, actually, last for decades without losing that vibe.
If you're showing up for the first time, I recommend posting up at the bar, ordering a drink and a burger and maybe even a slice of pie, and just... let the world turn on its own for awhile. Talk to a stranger. Tell your story, and listen to someone else's. If you bring love into this place, you'll get it back, and that's something I wouldn't trade for the world. - 9141620114/27/2015
Two Bells Tavern was a solid place for dinner while we were in Seattle. I'd give it 3 1/2 stars if that were an option.
This place seemed like a regulars kind of place. Small & intimate pub/bar. Server was friendly, though he got slightly less attentive after our food was served. Â
I ordered a Moscow Mule to drink but it was served in a high ball rather than the traditional copper mug. Flavor was more intense in the first few sips, then seemed to become too watered down.
For dinner I chose the regular burger, which is an unusual choice for me. I'd hoped for soup, but they only offer a soup of the day & the one offered didn't sound appealing to me. The German style cole slaw that came with my burger was quite good. Â The burger itself was pretty tasty. It seemed to have a sauce with a kick in addition the the lettuce & tomato fixings. Perhaps a chipotle mayo but this surprised me since I think I ordered it with no mayo. Â Regardless, it added some extra flavor and I was hungry and didn't really care to investigate.
Overall, it was a nice, casual place to spend our evening and almost earned 4-stars.
