Tupy's Mexican Food Supreme

My favorite Mexican food.

Coldest beer in Frisco. Don't like the Tupy taco, but their regular tacos are great. Interesting thing is they put a little bit of Italian dressing on their Taco lettuce. Strange but really tasty.

We started with the Shelby Metcalf queso which was very good. The salsa and chips are also better than some other Mexican restaurants in the area. I had the carnitas lunch special and the hubs had chicken fajitas. We both agreed the carnitas were amazing!!!! Would definitely order again. You may notice a mesquite flavor with the chicken fajitas which makes it less of my favorite but that's just personal preference. I would order a side of peppers and onion to go with my carnitas next time. The peppers and onions with the fajitas are what really make that dish.
Tupy's has some great daily specials and what looks like a good happy hour. We visited on a Wednesday and they had a mojito special. I lucked out since that's my favorite!!!

Unlike their tag line, it sure didn't feel like home when we walked in. Server had a really bad attitude and was extremely unfriendly.

Drinks were strong, but not good.

Queso was decent, good flavor.

Food was decent, chicken had good flavor and was relatively chewy free.

Had high hopes, been waiting to make it here for a while.  Disappointed, probably won't come back.

My sister, her best friend and I decided to have a quick lunch here. Our waiter was super nice and attentive. The food was super delicious. I ordered the number 1 combo. I read it but I didn't realize how much food it actually was! Lol and literally everything on the plate was freaking amazing! I honestly could've stayed in there and ate so much more of my tummy just would let me be great, but since I got full I couldn't do that lol

I also ordered a mojito, which was okay... but I never drink those anyway I thought I'd just venture out instead of my normal margarita. My sister however had their strawberry margarita and thought it was auhmazing. So needless to say I know which drink I'm getting next time!
I can't wait to go back and explore more of the menu!

We tried Tupy's for lunch today. I had the puffy tacos and really loved them. We also had the ceviche and it was good as well. Everyone else in my party loved their food.

Tupy's is a great casual Mexican spot that serves old school Tex-mex. The homemade chips, salsa, and queso  are amazing; be sure to add ground beef to your queso. The enchiladas were really good and had that delicious old school taste. Service was solid and the prices were fair, we will definitely be back.

Came in one evening for dinner and drinks. Happy hour was great (unfortunately forgot to take pics, will update later on another visit!) $4.25 margaritas until 7 pm. I had the swirl and it was good.

We started with the Shelby met calf dip, yum! Would recommend. I had the Lauren's favorite, was pretty good but in my opinion the chicken had a different seasoning than I was use to. A good portion of food but I will probably try something different next time.

Service was prompt and seating felt comfortable and in line with COVID regulations. Will give it another visit in the future!

I like this place for the puffed tacos and atmosphere. You can also get to know your neighbors because the service is incredibly slow and you'll have lots of time to visit.
Not sure who does the hiring and training but it's not good at all.
The other location off Park and 75 is a little better then the Frisco location but not much.
They all seem to know what to do but they just don't execute with a sense of urgency, they all seem to either be a chicken with there head cut off or they seem like they're dazed n confused.
The atmosphere is lovely and love the location. Step it up on friendly, more competent service and this would be pretty great.
Not sure why a lot of Mexican resteraunts have service issues. I've noticed if their service is good then the food is not good at all though. Lol

Would give 5 stars if we didn't drive over here multiple different occasions when the website says open and arrive to find out it's not open. We love this restaurant and will come back but you should ALWAYS call first to make sure they're actually open. Great food when it is.

I love Tupy's.  I've been going to the original Tupinambas for years - in fact it was the first Mexican restaurant I visited when I came to Dallas in 1975.  Whatever you do,  get something that comes with Tupy tacos.  And they love it when you yell "Hook em Horns!!"

OMG  the best TexMex on the planet.  Love me some Tupys!  Same great food as their mothership Tupinambas.  42 years of greatness.  Get the #1 and try everything.
