About the Business
Established in 1992. Due to the reputation for quality built by Tuckey Mechanical Services, Inc. and Tuckey Metal Fabricators, Inc., the Tuckey organization was contacted in the early 1990's by local community leaders who identified a need for emergency repair for fire and water damaged property. Subsequently, Tuckey Restoration, Inc. was founded in 1992 as a division of Tuckey Mechanical Services, Inc. Responding to rapid growth, the restoration group branched off from its parent company and was incorporated in 1995, performing emergency board up, clean up, restoration, and reconstruction services after fire, water and storm damage. Along with these services, we also provide kitchen remodeling and bathroom remodeling in the Carlisle, PA, area.

July 2017, we had a kitchen grease fire with smoke damage throughout our home. We contacted our home owner's insurance company the very next day. They had told us to contact whomever we wanted to handle the mitigation and restoration. We had asked around, but were unable to find a qualified reputable restoration company. So we researched on the internet and Tuckey's Restoration came up with good reviews. Matt B. came out the very next day to give us a price quote, and the following day the cleaning crew arrived to put our mind at ease that they would take care of the detailed cleaning. We must say they were quite prompt at starting our project. However, we also had a number of negative issues, and we tried very hard to resolve them. Also, I'm not sure if it was because there was one person that was actually from Tuckey, and the others were sub contractors due to them trying to start our project right away, which we really appreciated. Now I don't expect total detailed perfection, but there were issues that were not addressed even after multiple phone calls to Tuckey, no return phone calls. So I wrote a letter hoping that they would contact me. Again, I tried contacting them and left multiple messages. After a month of waiting to get my kitchen back together, because I was going to have them restore my cabinets, we decided to hire another contractor. Update: We have since received a phone call apologizing and are now finding a resolution. It is refreshing to know that this has not been swept under the rug, and that they really do care for service that they are providing.

Thanks, too, for selecting our company for your emergency services and mitigation needs based upon our positive reviews across various online review sites. To the extent that our team's follow-up communication fell short and your expectations were not met, we apologize. We appreciate your time on the phone this morning to discuss your project. Should we be given the opportunity to serve you again in the future, our team will be dedicated to earning back your business via timely communication and quality workmanship.

Requested an estimate to replace a wooden deck in back of my house. Tuckey sent a representative out who spent thirty minutes examining the existing deck, and said I would receive a written estimate by email.
Never heard from them again. When I called them, I got the standard " not my job" speech, referral to a second number that no one answered. Called back, was assured that someone would call me immediately. No one did, and I never heard from them again.
Not sure if this is a wider problem with Stuckey, or just with the Carlisle franchise.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Amy C.Lewisberry, PA364Apr 19, 2019
Terrible company to work with. They seem to only be interested in insurance money. Contractors are not paid in a timely manner, people on the phone are rude.

If there is anything further to be discussed regarding a subcontract, please contact us directly to do so. It seems that a communication gap has occurred, and we certainly regret any confusion that may have caused. As you know, we've completed a quality project for our mutual customer, and the payment that you've brought into question has been issued to you, even though we ourselves have not received payment for this project. We'd love to discuss how we can clear up communication in the future - please contact us directly to do so. In any case, we're happy to have worked together to satisfy our mutual client, restoring their home. Thank you.

Look elsewhere. We are beyond frustrated. Insurance company provided Tuckeys's name to us to do restoration work after our water damage. We called and Matt came out to review the damage and write up an estimate, Matt told us they were booked out 3 weeks but since our job was not real big , he would work ours in. He gave us options that he used for the carpet replacement that they work with. 2 weeks went by, after multiple phone calls to Tuckey's, no return phone calls. The person answering the phone said Matt was busy, he would call back by the end of the day- never happened. The lady from the flooring place called us and said they were still on board but Matt would not call her back either. We are now 3 weeks behind in getting our house back in order. Yesterday we moved on to another company. Tuckey's was a waste of time.

Beware, this was my insurance companies preferred provider. My roof blew off Febuarary they still have not finished the job. Their "estimator" miscalculate the square feet and the chimney cap--thinking it blew off when in fact it broke off. The insurance company cut the a check in less than five days, was told the project would start in 0ne week, then told March 20th in an email. in the second week in May I asked when are you beginning? The assist told me she wrote it in the email--"read it" The email says March 20th -I said its closer to May 20th. This resulted in more damage, I am sure this will end up in court before it's over.Be very careful. Today is June 3, 2017 still waiting!

We had our A/C ducts cleaned recently. I shopped for a contractor but found few with believable pricing and a number of bad reviews from those I did not know. I knew of and had used Tuckey previously for other work. They are premium priced, but I wanted the job done right. The job took all day... and we had a number of negative issues. But I don't expect perfection of any person or contractor, but I do expect that all issues be addressed pleasantly, promptly, without argument and satisfactorily. Tuckey came through with flying colors; I can't imagine any contractor being better to it's customer than was Tuckey to us. This is an outfit having integrity. I'll use them again and I recommend them to you.

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback online! You are correct in that there are many companies that offer duct cleaning services, and we will most likely not be the least expensive option you find on the market. But our goal is quality, comprehensive cleaning. We appreciate your recognition of our team's commitment to excellence - it means a lot. Thanks for the opportunity to earn your business - we hope to serve you again soon.
