This church is definitely a must see if you are in the financial district. The beauty of it is astounding. It's amazing to walk through the cemetery and see all the old graves as well. Definitely a staple in NYC history and a great place to capture awesome photos. It's a small place of peace and quiet within the hustle and bustle of New York City. Pictures really don't do it justice.

It is hard not to miss the 281-foot steeple of this beautiful church. Trinity Church is located in the heart of the financial district and faces Wall Street. I love old churches and this one is one of my favorites. Trinity Church was built in the mid 1800's and was once the tallest structure in New York City. Today it is dwarfed by many skyscrapers.
Trinity Church Wall Street is still an active Episcopal parish and holds worship services each week and does community outreach. Both the Trinity Church and the Churchyard are open to the public daily during daylight hours. There is no charge to enter, but they do accept donations. You can walk on a pathway through the burial grounds in the courtyard. Despite being in a busy part of New York City, the grounds are very peaceful and tranquil. Alexander Hamilton, Albert Gallatin, and Robert Fulton are some notable people that are buried here.
This is actually the third Trinity Church that was built in 1846. The first two were damaged by fire and weather. I love its Gothic Revival design. It is one of my favorite churches to photograph. The church has 23 bells that you can hear ringing from time to time. The doors are made of bronze and very impressive to see in person. I spent a little time checking out the interior of the church. The stained-glass windows are so beautiful. Just remember to be respectful to those that are worshipping here if you decide to go inside.Helpful 17Thanks 4Love this 13Oh no 0 - May 3, 2023
In lower Manhattan right near Wall Street this church is a fine example of old stone work. It was built in the mid 1800s and looks like it has to be 300 feet tall. It is quite a magnificent structure and worthy of a visit even if you walk through inside and out in an hour. There is also a yard with a burial ground on the premises.

This historic church stands at the intersection of Wall Street and Broadway. A church on this site dates back to the 1600s with a charter from King William III on May 6, 1697. The current structure is the third here and construction completed in 1846. At the time, the spire was the tallest structure in the area and was the tallest building in the United States until 1869.
The building is designed as Gothic Revival architecture and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976.
Unfortunately, I was only able to view the outside today as there was some state thing going on with lots of security and men with ear pieces and bulges under their coats. Bummer!

Trinity church is located on Wall street and is one of the oldest church in NYC. Outside of the church is a cemetery. Inside of the church is beautiful, I like the color and the interior design of the ceiling. The pointy part of the outside looks very gothics architecture like. Please note that this is an operating church and you must check the hours before going in.
There are actually three Trinity Churches. The original one was built in 1697.
I highly recommend coming here for a visit.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Anton K.Morris County, NJ286774375Dec 27, 2021
Located in the Historic Wall Street District, Trinity Church lies at the intersection of Wall Street and Broadway. It is part of the Episcopal Diocese of New York.
The original church was built in 1697 followed by the second Trinity Church in 1705. That church had among it's parishioners, George Washington, John Jay and Alexander Hamilton. It was destroyed in 1776 in the Great Fire. The present church was built in the Gothic Rivival style between between 1839-1846 under the direction of architect Richard Upton. It's spire and cross is 281' above ground level. Up until 1869 it was the tallest structure in the United states. The church has a capacity of 652 parishioners.
There are three entrance doors to the church, east, south and north. The east and north doors have six panels depiciting church history and the Bible. The south door depicits the history of New York. The doors date from 1893 and their construction was financed by William Waldorf Aster. The church has an adjacent cemetry where such notables as Alexander Hamilton, Elizabeth Schuyler Hamilton, Robert Fulton and Lord Sterling are buried.
Within walking distance, you can visit Federal Hall where George Washington was inaugrated in 1789 and the Raging Bull & Fearless Girl statuary among other landmarks in this lower Manhattan area.Helpful 20Thanks 0Love this 20Oh no 0 - 5000385571329Jan 23, 2020
This is another Historic Landmark Church that has survived Four Centuries. The cemetery, St. Paul's Chapel, and the preschool are under the jurisdiction of this Episcopal Congregation.
The Church has worship services multiple times daily all through the week. They provide services to the elderly, disabled, homeless, children, and much more. They have a website that's easy to navigate for more information. You may find the church history interesting.
After much renovation I suggest you visit. I used to work nearby. I have witnessed the many environmental changes over the years since 911. The members of this Religious Community have moved forward with unbelievable determination. I'm here to applaud their ongoing efforts to keep their house of worship and service to the community alive.
My photos are of the place I like to visit most frequently, the cemetery. You can find my reviews for St. Paul's Chapel and for the cemetery on Yelp too. I recommend you visit all three locations.Helpful 84Thanks 0Love this 72Oh no 1 - Jan 15, 2020
Trinity Church is one of the oldest and most beautiful churches in New York City.
This rendition, the 3rd, at the cross-section of Wall Street & Broadway was built 1846. The original was built in 1697, and the 2nd built in 1705 which was destroyed in a fire in 1776.
Trinity miraculously survived the attacks on September 11th 2001, and was also a place where many survivors of that dreadful day found refuge from the collapsing towers around it.
Alexander Hamilton is one of the many historically prominent people of the US revolution and "Founding Father" of America, buried here on the grounds of this famous landmark.
Trinity is an Episcopal parish of the Anglican Communion, offering a full schedule of Daily Prayer and Eucharist services. Trinity also offers Christian fellowship and outreach to the community.
The church has a rich music program and is home to the famous Choir Of Trinity Wall Street featured Sunday mornings on WQXR 105.9 FM radio in NYC. Visiting choirs from around the world often perform at Trinity.
I love to come here to admire the tranquility and beauty of this beautiful sanctuary.

Literally, the holy Trinity. All in all, it's run by just another Pr**k on the Wall (street). Oh wait that's Pink Floyd's opinion, not mine. (wink)
Absolutely spectacular Church towering over Wall Street in New York City. One of the most gorgeous churches in Manhattan which is bizarre since it's right in the middle of all the financial downtown buildings.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - 24516132768Sep 11, 2020
The Trinity is one of Manhattan's oldest churches. I visited once when I was very young, it is quite beautiful inside. It also contains a cemetery where a few notable people are interred, particularly it's most famous internee, Alexander Hamilton.
Hamilton, our first Secretary of the Treasury, along with his wife and one child of his is buried on the grounds. I have also heard former mayor Ed Koch is buried there as well, but I have yet to locate his grave.
The whole site is near Wall Street, so you could really make a day out of being in Lower Manhattan being a tourist if you wish.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0
