Trieu Chau Rice Noodle Soup in Santa Ana, CA, is a spot for for lovers of noodles cuisine. Located in Santa Ana, the restaurant offers a delightful array of traditional Cambodian/CHinese.
Trieu Chau main star is undoubtedly their rice noodle soup, known for its rich and flavorful broth that's simmered to perfection. Each bowl is generously filled slices of meat, seafood, herbs, fresh bean sprouts, and flavors that leave you wanting for more with every bite.

Don't come here expecting the aesthetic, modern vibe of the trendy noodle spots popping up nowadays--this is your typical hole-in-the-wall authentic gem. If you're looking for delicious food and fast service, this spot that specializes in hearty Chinese noodle bowls is the place to be.
I always go for the dry house special with both yellow and white noodles, and soup on the side. The flavors are incredible and the portions are generous!Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 5Oh no 0 - Sep 19, 2024
I have a lot of seafood allergies so I can't eat their signature noodle soups. However, my dining companions love it and say they serve up some of the best hu tieu they've eaten. You can order your noodle soups with different types of noodles. The chao chow bowls are heaped with pork, duck, shrimp, and chicken. I had their chicken porridge and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. It was very savory and easy on the stomach, perfect for breakfast before a long car ride back to the South Bay. I especially liked the fried garlic bits in it. The portion can easily be shared, I ended up taking half of it to-go. The fried crullers are also worth ordering. They're slightly sweet like banh tieu, which I thought was unique. It's the perfect accompaniment to your dish.

I've noticed Trieu Chau Restaurant a few times since my family and I always made sure to visit a neighboring restaurant located within the same tiny strip. I wasn't ever really intrigued enough to actually stop by until my last few trips to LA.
One thing that is a constant at each and every visit = extremely rushful service. My most recent visit was no different- very pushy and lowkey kind of rude.
I get you guys are busy. I get that you want people in and out so the business can maximize profit. BUT!! Getting seated, menus provided, and me not being able to completely review the menu before being rushed into ordering is just too much. Between 2 employees, we were asked about ordering 4 times and we had just gotten seated not too long ago.
Food is good but what keeps me consistently coming back are TC's chinese donut sticks!! The best way I can describe this deliciousness is imagining a dau chao quay [donut sticks] and banh tieu [sweet sesame hollow donut] coming together and having a baby!! No other place compares.
3 stars overall factoring the last visit was only so-so. The huge bone provided in soup was super dry and tough while the donut sticks were cold. Upon asking the owner to reheat at least one stick, he declines saying it was not possible because the sticks would then become rock hard. We settled with the cold carbs but even with the fluffy interior, it was would have been so much better even slightly warmed. Meh.Helpful 7Thanks 2Love this 5Oh no 2 - Aug 18, 2024Updated review
A family favorite! We love the fresh Chinese donuts and house special noodles. I always get mine with egg noodles and the broth on the side.
Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0Nov 5, 2023Previous reviewFood: my favorite noodle soup! I always get the House Special w/ egg noodles and broth on the side (they give you a beef bone on the side). My husband gets the House Special w/ white rice noodles and broth together. You've gotta get the Chinese long donuts here, they're the BEST! But they usually run out by 10am so come early.
Service: very quick once you get seated. So fast that they drop off the bill as the food arrives. Lol
Ambiance: small restaurant, nothing fancy. There is usually a line out the door on weekends, but it typically goes by quickly! - Feb 25, 2024

My parents first brought me here probably over 25 years ago.
I have been visiting since.
They have the best Katew Phnom Penh ever. The dish is also known as the "House special" or "Hu Tieu" I believe.
Although not all of the staff speaks Khmer but they'll understand when you order the Phnom Penh Noodz.
The house special is like a surf and turf in a bowl comprising of several different kinds of meat, such as chicken, pork, liver, shrimp, duck, meatballs, fish balls, etc.
You can also order it dry which will come with a big bone side soup, and different options of noodles such as the thin rice noods, to flat fat ones, or egg noodles.
The environment is quite busy and don't be surprised if you end up sharing a table with a stranger. There's always a wait but it usually doesn't take long. Parking can be difficult during peak hours so you may have to loop around the lot a few times.
I also really enjoy their mee katang with beef. It's like beef chow fun basically but Cambodian style.
Their shu mai and crispy crab cakes appetizers are great too if you can handle that much food.
Price is reasonable, service is there, and place closes at 5 pm usually.
If you somehow have never tried this place, i strongly recommend it.

Okay folks, please tell me what time they sell out of the doughnuts because we went at 11 and they were sold out :(
Service: quick, typical Asian restaurant
Food: some dishes come out quicker than others, so be mindful
Portions: inconsistent.. my egg noodle dish was done in 5 slurps but the chow fun can feed an army
Ambiance: loud, and not customer loud, just the hustle and bustle of the workers
Parking: 0/5, the worst. I just parked on the street but read the signs! I attached a photo for reference. The complex hosts around 6-7 businesses and the surface lot has under 20 parking spaces lol.
I will be back to try other dishes, maybe steer clear of the soup dishes.

Amazing find, a def go back for me when I am in the area. Upon walking in I was greeted and asked to pick any open table. The server came by a couple min later and I asked him, what do you recommend. I went with his first choice and paired it with an order Chinese style donut, I became an instant fan. It was so good I ordered the same dish to-go!!

First time trying this place and I must say it was a really nice little viet/Chinese/ Cambodian noodle spot .
The food - was really good I got the seafood combo rice noodle soup and my husband got the beef combo rice noodle soup . Both were good the noodles was cooked well not to soggy just right. The beef was pretty tender off the bone and I like how they gave so many different types of beef same with the seafood dish. I would come back to try what else they have on their menu.
Service- the service was quick and fast. They seat you right away once a guest leaves. Quick with ordering and quick to bring the food.
Ambiance - the ambiance is cool and nice mom and pop shop where it feels like if you were to go more the people will eventually they're going to learn your face and name.
I will be back soon to try more of their menu
