Horrible. AVOID!
Seriously. Abysmal. I start to think of my experience there and my brain and stomach and nose hurt.
Look out for yourself and do not even walk near it.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 7, 2022Updated review
Typical overpriced airport drinks and food. That with the server/bartender being a real peach.....made the beginning of the trip oh so pleasant. I get it, people that come through the airport are rude, entitled, arrogant assholes! I saw it first-hand when checking my bag. I told the attendant behind the counter that I didn't envy her job! I reminded her that many of us appreciates their service and not everyone is an asshole. Then I get inside and I witness a bartender just being short and rude to patrons and fellow staff. Maybe she was having a bad day. However, try to keep it professional. Just because your day so far is shitty, does not allow you to poo-poo on everyone else. Anyway, next time I will hit a different place! Stay positive and keep rolling!

But having to pay $11-$12 for a burrito is not just airport pricing, it is gouging! There's no reason for costs to be as much as they are. I get it, we're in an airport, we're stuck with what's in here. But to take it vantage of it to this extreme is borderline disgusting. Aside from that the staff is very friendly and the food is not bad.

I enjoyed breakfast here and tried a little of everything by ordering items separately. It was a little more expensive that way, but what the heck.
The scrambled eggs were good, the bacon was perfect crisp and tasty, the sausage patties were tasty, and the flour tortillas were excellent. I decided to try both green and red chili but they were both too hot for me. I am not into hot and spicy but others may love it.
Seats were comfortable and there are plenty of television screens to keep you entertained waiting for your flight.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - T W.Oakland, CA02Mar 14, 2023
I was originally pleased to find a ready-made vegetarian burrito to grab on the way to my flight. It was decent...nothing special...until I got food poisoning! Now reading reviews that it happened to others as well. Avoid this place!

Albuquerque airport has limited food options and I would say this is an okay option. It's not the best food by normal standards, but it will do for airport food.
Service started out quick and was good for the most part. Our waitress was fast with drinks, taking our orders, and getting our food to the table. Once it was time to cash out she disappeared for a bit. Once she reappeared we had to flag her down to close us out.
I ordered a combination plate with a taco and enchilada. The food was okay. It tasted fine, but was not a great authentic meal. My husband had a Tortilla Burger and also thought his meal was okay, but not great. We did enjoy the chips and salsa brought out before the meal. I also liked the sopapilla that came with my meal.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Oct 6, 2019
So it is 615 PM, Saturday Night 10/5. I'm at Albuquerque, NM airport on route home to LAX after 8 PM. I need to have some dinner. Figure I'm in New Mexico so Mexican food makes sense.
I see Tia Juanitas after passing through TSA. Was in the mood for some light Mexican food. Figure a taco salad with beef makes sense. So I order a taco salad with beef, the person at the counter tells me they are closing in a few minutes. No problem, I get it.
So I get the salad. The beef is cold. It's actually not that bad but it is cold. The salad itself was 2 star and the Styrofoam container appropriate. It was a bad salad; however, had someone heated up the beef it would have been better.
So what did I learn from this? Next time I fly from Albuquerque to LAX I need to buy food outside of the airport and just take it with me.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Chris N.San Antonio, TX18122437Jan 25, 2020
This is the same restaurant that located on secure side of the TSA check point. This location however is a sit down and be waited on restaurant rather then a fast food style.
I was greeted and seated quickly after a long night and facing an even longer flight. Service was quick and hospitable (including bring the check once it was time to go). I ordered the Huevos rancheros, red Chile, with a side of Red Chili and a side of bacon. Everything was on point and prepared exactly the way I expected. Thanks Tia Juanita for the food coma you induced on the first leg of my journey home.
Great job, see you next time-Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 380226854May 22, 2017
I really wanted to like this place. Nice atmosphere and friendly service. I opted for breakfast at the bar and my server was great - 4 stars!
The food is absolutely the worst Mexican I've ever had. Zero stars. How can this be with a name like Tia Jaunita's!!!??? Huevos Rancheros is about a simple a dish as you can get. I asked for my eggs done medium; they came out looking like the cook cracked two eggs on my plate. Back they came after 10 minutes and so well done I had a hard time cutting the edges with a knife. The red sauce was horrid and they mix it with butter as near as I can tell. That mixed with the acidic tomato base was plain gross. The refried beans were excellent! Plus one star. And who puts cold lettuce on top of this dish?
Horrid. Stay away. Pass through security and walk straight ahead. Much better food with great views of fighter jets taking off...Helpful 21Thanks 0Love this 20Oh no 0 - Jon B.Bella Vista, AR48164162Feb 4, 2021
Everyone was in the line at the place next door, so for expediency, I chose Tia's. Well, that was not a good choice. I had the Burrito Adovada. Turns out this is a bean burrito, with meat being the second ingredient. And a far second, at that. So if you want a great big bean burrito, with a little meat and cheese thrown on, all for 9.99, get this one. I was disappointed.
Counter person was nice.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Dec 25, 2017
This was a quick run in before my flight back home for the holidays& man I must say that I was thoroughly impressed for this to be an airport restaurant tasting as good as it did.
I was greeted by a enthusiastic and welcoming staff, my waitress was super knowledgable with the items on the menu. I decided to go with Shrimp Tacos. These tacos came with Mexican rice, and also a corn and cucumber salad. This entire dish was soaked with flavor!!! The tacos had a nice zeste to them, and I ate every single bit of the food on this plate down to the last bite.
The Salsa also had a very rich and nice flavor, great food, good service+ flavor= satisfaction! Let's just say that I boarded my plane with a full tummy.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
