Where do I start? TITS is perfect. It's home to me.
The bartenders are legitimately the best in the business. Why is that? Because they actually converse with you, all while keeping your drink full. Seriously, I'm pretty sure they're allergic to empty glasses.
The drink specials. OH! The drink specials! There's one every evening, on top of the famous disco ball 2.4.1. Friday nights feature 3.4.1 on rail mixers and tap beer, which makes it possible to drink all night on $10. Drink pours are strong, just as they should be. So beautiful that I could cry.
The crowd is wonderful. Often times I find myself hating gay bars because the crowd is too much to deal with. Not the case with TITS. There's a huge crowd of regulars here, which is one of the best signs to see when checking out a bar. This really is the gay Cheers. Word to the wise however, this place can get crowded on Friday/Saturday nights.
The decor closely mimics your grandmother's basement, circa 1984, with a wonderful gay touch. There is a raging debate as to whether this place is a dive bar or not. I would say it doesn't really fit entirely into the dive bar category. It is a dive bar in the sense that the drinks are cheap, the pours are strong and it's dark and somewhat homey. On the other hand, its really clean, the bartenders are amazingly friendly and, I don't feel like I'm going to catch the Clap from a visit to the bathroom. So, is it a dive bar? Nope. Does it have somewhat of a divey feel to it? If you must.
Hands-down, TITS is my favorite bar in Milwaukee. I'm not really sure what I would do if it were to ever go away. Until then, I'll keep going as often as possible!Helpful 9Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - Gilbert T.Bay View, Milwaukee, WI0722Jan 8, 2024
I love a good gay bar. This place feels like your home from home, very young people but still cute and have lots of energy to make you feel young again. Drag show we saw wasn't great but I think that what made it fun.

We came here after a concert looking for a drink. The staff was very friendly and poured heavily. The music was fun and not too loud at the bar. I would love to come back for a trivia night if I'm ever in Milwaukee during the week.

Bummed. Used to frequent This Is It and loved it. Glad that a remodel and new owner took over but...It's just not that good anymore. All the charm it used to have it long gone.
Didn't feel welcomed at all.
Place didn't seem clean.
$42 for 3 Tito's and tonic.

We had a great time, mostly because Ray was a great bartender! He was super hospitable to us and makes a great mixed drink!

My brother and I are both queer, so we decided to go out on the coldest night of the year to date. The amount of safety I felt from the moment I walked in was so comforting & the service was phenomenal. I love sweet drinks and Tyler makes a delicious margarita.
We danced, we sang, we laughed and made new friends. This is going to be my spot whenever I'm in town! Also, go support our new drag queen baby, Risk E. Bismuth. Her stage presence is unmatched
Happy new year to all of you on staff & I hope to see you all soon lolHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jair M.Milwaukee, WI04Jun 24, 2023
Friendly environment, bartenders are really nice and always check on you. The I went it wasn't crowded tho they didn't have available at the time the cocktail I asked for. But over all a nice place to spend the evening

Dj/dance floor (excuse my finger)
This is it is a MUST if you're queer or BIPOC visiting Milwaukee. The bartenders are friendly, front bar has TV and great convos, back bar is on the dance floor. Also outside seating with fireplaces for the winter. Music ranges from Megan the stallion to Queen. You won't regret it.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gavin B.Milwaukee, WI1301Oct 12, 2021
As a member of the service industry it pains me to say this, but (as a member of the service industry,) I've gotta call a spade a spade.
I ordered a drink and asked to close out right away; after taking my card, the bartender never circled back to me, which I chalked up to them being busy (they were admittedly hustling very hard at this particular time). I decided to stop back a little later, at which point they said they had no card under my name and no record of my order. Mistakes happen, streams get crossed, this comes with the territory - however, the bartender was SO unnecessarily combative with me in response that I just can't shake the experience.
"So you're accusing me of stealing your card?" No? I think you were busy, things slipped through the cracks, and my card got lost, perhaps given to the wrong person. "So what do you want me to say?" I don't know? Anything that would imply accountability, maybe? Something that isn't actively hostile?
He then pointedly ignored me for the rest of the night.
Again, I get it, mistakes happen, especially during a rush. But I left feeling so disheartened and, frankly, gaslit into thinking that somehow I was at fault because the bartender lost my card and couldn't simply level with me about it... I'm really bummed to be leaving this kind of review for a space that I once held so much respect for, both because of its history and its efforts to bolster local LGBTQ+ performers, but if it's just going to be staffed by such morally-bankrupt, unprofessional twinks, I'm out. Never going again.Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Peter D.Madison, WI12652Feb 24, 2022
Not great. Please consider playing some good dance music in the future. The drag was mediocre and the DJ was playing wedding music.
