Took a large party here which is a pretty drive to the middle of nowhere. I was super impressed with the quality of drinks and the food was overall really good. Only small complaint was that the steak one of my companions ordered was a little over done. Staff was very welcoming and attentive. The inside of this place is huge and lives up to the lodge of the name. Overall I highly recommend when your ready for a lovely mountain drive.

Great food!
Bartender was a USMC vet that was attentive but not overbearing. Drinks were filled without asking because tea is obviously free.
Asked about apps and dessert without bringing the check with him.
I'll eat here every time I'm in town..Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Iannone F.Tyrone, PA22Aug 18, 2019
Wings are simply the best! Great food and good prices. It's worth the drive! Good size menu with enough variation that everyone can find something to eat. Very friendly staff!

Classic mountain eating establishment/dive. There is a pool table in the dining room and a bar in the connecting room that showcases a trophy moose head. More of a hunters bar that serves great food next-door than a restaurant, yet in many visits to The Wilderness I've neither seen nor heard the bar crowd and it's been family-friendly to our kids, gramma & the wallet.
Out of the way but worth every mile for their succlulent wings. Sandwiches & dinners are ALL tasty & worth a try, too and the prices can't be beat for -at least- a mountain mile.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mari-Beth G.CAROLINA SHOR, NC047Sep 2, 2019
Hubs and I took his mother here for dinner tonight. This was our third visit and by far the best! The food and atmosphere are always great, but tonight was made even more memorable because of Brad, our waiter. Great menu recommendations from him -- like the Greek Spaghetti that I had and the tacos that hubs had. Mom-in-laws popcorn shrimp order was so large that she brought half of it home! If you've been wondering about this hidden gem, get out and go!!!

Great food and a fun place! Well worth the drive out the valley. The fish sandwich is delicious and the burgers are also great. The servers are fast and friendly.

This place is awesome. They make Bloodies from scratch.. Ask for them to be extra spicy. Definitely a good starter. Great wings and sandwiches. Had the Meatloaf sandwiches, Club Sandwich and Mush Burger. Homemade chips are good too. All outstanding.

This place is the hands-down favorite choice for my wife and me when we're hungry for wings. The wings are absolutely spectacular, you won't find a better wing anywhere in Mifflin County.
If you've been going to the Wilderness for years (like we have) but haven't been there recently, be ready for a shock - it's no longer a "dive bar", it has been completely renovated and looks awesome now. (No more duct-taped booth seats!) However, the looks aren't the only thing that has been upgraded, the prices have as well. Wing prices have increased by 50% (the $6.60 I used to pay for a dozen has now went up to $9.95).
It's out of the way, but it's a nice drive and the atmosphere makes for a pleasant dining experience.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
