Charming historic hotel with food and drinks that don't disappoint. The menu is a bit small and didn't have any kid options last time I was there, but the view is lovely and the service is very kind and friendly. They are also very good to locals which I have always appreciated.

My fiancé and I had delightful experience at The View restaurant in Estes Park! Nestled amidst the breathtaking beauty of nature, this place truly lives up to its name. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the scenic surroundings and the warm hospitality of the staff, especially our server, Zee .
We started our meal with high hopes, and we were not disappointed. I ordered the Ribeye steak, and it exceeded all my expectations. The ribeye was cooked to perfection, with a beautiful sear on the outside and a juicy, tender center that practically melted in my mouth. Every bite was a heavenly experience, and I could not get enough of it.
The sides were equally impressive. The creamy and delicious Mashed Potatoes were the perfect complement to the steak. They were so velvety smooth, seasoned just right, and had a rich, buttery taste. I found myself savoring each spoonful, wanting to make the experience last as long as possible.
To top off this exceptional meal, we indulged in the Peach Cobbler for dessert, and it was pure bliss. The sweet aroma of fresh peaches filled the air as we eagerly dug into the warm, crumbly crust and the luscious peach filling. Truly a sweet ending to an already outstanding dining experience
I must also mention the attentive and friendly service we received throughout our visit. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu and offered excellent recommendations.
The View is definitely on our list to visit again when we return to Estes ParkHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Missaka W.Woodland Hills, CA0276Jul 6, 2023
Service was good. The waiter was attentive and proactive about removing the price of a returned meal.
We went to the View for our anniversary. I had the Mediterranean chicken and my wife had the Mahi Mahi.
1) chicken was overcooked and rubbery. For the price it was extremely underwhelming. It was paired with a risotto and the mix of cheeses made it too salty. Also, the Mediterranean flavors of the chicken did not pair well with the risotto.
2) the Mahi Mahi was also overcooked. When done right it should melt in your mouth. When fish is overdone it has more the consistency of canned tuna.
The waiter offered us a free peach cobbler, however, I refused having already been disappointed twice. Definitely not worth the money. Won't be back.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Steve B.Brighton, CO472627Sep 13, 2022
Great view, not very busy restaurant, but the service was a little slow. They did just have a wedding party there, but they were already done eating before we were sat down. The room that they seat you in a very large and only has a couple of tables, but considering it feels like one family running everything I'm glad they don't have more tables. The food was good, not great, but they tried. Had the food been served quicker, I think we would come back here to eat when we are in town

Literally 3/4 of the restaurant empty on a Monday night and the server tells us they're "busy" and told us to wait after dragging his feet to get to the reception area. But the two other couples that wandered in with us from the parking lot behind us were welcomed and seated.
I guess we didn't "look" the part.

Only good thing about this place was literally THE VIEW from the restaurant. We made the reservation at 8:30 pm and ordered the food. The food came at 9:30 pm. There weren't many people and I don't understand why it took so long. No one really explained why food came late nor apologized.
I ordered lamb racks and what I got was loin chop. Seriously disappointed. Imagine you ordered filet mignon and t bone was served. The meat was very very dry and hard to chew.
Food is really awful here. Don't waste your money. If you want to come for the view, just come for desserts.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Cindy S.Kansas City, MO1105616Jun 30, 2022Updated review
Back again after Covid. We had the trout and it's the best we've had anywhere. If you don't know about this spot, you are missing out. We love their food, the views, the music, the history of The Crags and The View. Do NOT miss eating here!

The service is professional and friendly without being too intrusive. Seriously, this is the best meal we've had in EPCO and possibly the state of CO. It's amazing! From drinks to dessert, it's fabulous. A must when vacationing!

Both the food and service here are excellent. The views from the windows were expansive and beautiful. We were a party of 9 and they seated us promptly with a reservation made just an hour before. Host requested that our party limit the choice of entrees to 3 so that everything would come out together. This turned out to be a non issue for our family as most of us ordered the rainbow trout which was delicious. The peach cobbler is out of this world. It is an expensive menu but the food was delicious.

Restaurant is honestly ok. The "view" is between trees. We went at night so there was no view at all. But we got to go out into one of the little 2 people alcoves and could only see lights through trees so I can only imagine that all of the daytime photos are taken with zoom and at an angle.
We had a reservation and were left standing at the host table for 20 minutes before the host came out. It was Saturday night at 7 p.m. The restaurant wasn't full at all. The only other people seated were a wedding party that consisted of less than 15 people and the restaurant was empty otherwise. Apparently what took so long was that they were getting a to-go salad ready for a local, but I honestly didn't know that something like that took so much attention.
When we finally were seated, we were being attended to by what seemed to be a bus boy. He said he would be getting our drinks while our waiter took care of the wedding party. After having our drinks for a while and having no one come by our table, the bus boy came back and told us that he was just informed that he would be our waiter for the evening. The person who was supposed to be our actual waiter came by after we ate our food to "check on us."
The service the entire time was way too slow for only our table and a party of about 12 to be the only ones seated in the restaurant. And definitely unorganized when there were several waiters there, but a random bus boy was designated to serve us.
The food was honestly just ok. Not worth the cost.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0
