I just moved to the state and was intrigues by the fact they are one of only about 15 all vegan groceries in the country! Plus being woman owned, and a few shops down from a great vegan coffee shop, I had to go. I'm not vegan, but I have to use vegan dairy. I am a former vegetarian.and vegan though, and am very comfy with vegan products. Being gluten free though, is what made me go back to eating some meat. A lot of vegan products use wheat, and it's always frustrating, bc the allergens frequently overlap. I went to get their vegan chicken I saw on a fb ad, grabbed some vegan sushi as well. They also offer freshly made breakfast sandwiches and other grab and go items, which is fabulous. Staff was friendly. The prices were comparable to big box stores. A lot of the things I saw there you could find at wegmans, for a dollar cheaper, but small.business and all. Back in indy, that would be 2-4 dollars more at the independent store. Didnt.make.it easy to shop at the local shop if you were on a budget. This shop though, definitely worth checking out. Won't be on my weekly rotation, as a lot of the items I can get nearer to.me for comparable prices, but if you're near North Tonawanda, by all means check it out.

I really do like the Vegan Grocery Store as a one-and-done stop for all the new vegan meats, snacks, and drinks available in the area, and I really like that they managed to procure a bigger space from the tiny older shop. So, if knowing that you can't screw up and accidentally buy something with animals (because the supermarkets are still new to this and grouping can be confusing), stop in here. Stop in here anyway, because they've got all the best vegan junk food.

But in some ways, the store is a victim of the success of the new wave of vegan products nationally--Gardein, Beyond Meat, Sol, Impossible Foods, Tofurkey, Oatley, Silk, etc. can now all be found in the nearest Wegmans--heck, much of it can now be found downmarket in the local Tops, and usually for less.

So, we'll be back here to see what's strange and new in the world of vegan eats--picked up some killer mushroom jerky last time in--but as a resource, the Vegan Grocery Store is now being crowded a bit by the mainstream. It's hard to be a pioneer.

Are you a vegan whose tired of reading food labels at your local grocery store just to find out they added dairy to something you never thought would have dairy in it in the first place ?! Well well well, then look no further then an entire vegan grocery store where you wildest no reading label dreams can come true !

Haha, okay I'm done. But seriously, this place is amazing ! I love just waltzing around, shopping for anything that my lil ol taste buds desire without having to whip out my magnifying glass to read the ingredients list !

And, the best part is this cute little grocery store also provides vegan products that I have yet to see anywhere else locally ! Even Whole Foods.

From frozen goodies, to candy, to snacks, you name it this place seems to have it !

Just moved to Buffalo, NY for a new job. During my interview I was sure to inquire about what opportunities that I would have to buy lots of vegan food. One of the individuals in the interview let me know that they had a vegan grocery store and in that moment I need I had to stop there and check it out for myself.

It was literally my first stop. I mean after all what's a new apartment with out all the goodies you need to be comfortable. Especially during a pandemic.

I got there about 30 minutes before they close. However, everything in this store was so organized which made the items I was searching for super easy to fine. In addition, to organization the store was very clean which was a plus.

A small hiccup for me was that some of the items were a bit pricier than they would in some stores I typically frequent. ( However, that could also be seen the difference in shopping per state) Either way it doesn't bother me because with the pandemic going on it is especially important to support small and local businesses. They accept SNAP benefits which is also pretty important.

The cashier was super polite. She let me know that in a week or so they would be moving across the street to a bigger location so that's exciting.

Very interesting store. If you are vegan or want to explore vegan food I highly suggest you try shopping at this grocery store. You pick what you like and know the staff will guide you to select some items

Oh what a sweet little treasure!! It's not exactly centrally located, but it's well worth the drive. Not only for the selection and the fun of shopping without having to read a single label, but to support a local business.
Ok listen to this ..... vegan corned beef!!! Ok it wasn't available right now ( it can be ordered) , but I've been searching for it forever! They have everything from vegan marshmallows to laundry detergent.

I know your thinking ,well besides the marshmallows what did you buy?

Well I also bought Cowgirl Steaks, Udon and Pho , hot dogs, Tuno fish,Chik'n Veggie pot pie, Buffalo Chik'n pot pie, Turk'y Ched'ar & Broccoli pockets, Ham style & Ched'ar pockets to name a few.

I've tried some of these things having received them from that store as a Mothers Day gift basket, and they were delicious. So I was excited to go there myself.

The service was wonderful , kind , caring and helpful.

Now for my not vegetarian or vegan friends, don't worry, be brave and try the food. You will be amazed how far vegan and vegetarian food has come from the old days of yuck. It's delicious and so many meat eater friends incorporated vegetarian meat into their menu just because they like it. So here's a great place to try things you like but in vegan versions.

I am shocked that I have yet to write a review on The Vegan Grocery Store. While I have been vegetarian for almost six years, I went vegan this past year. This was my first Easter where I needed vegan chocolate in my basket. My parents went in April for the first time (yes, my parents got to go before me, haha!!) and they came home with a bunch of stuff.... mainly for them. My mom went crazy talking about how awesome the store was and how she found this and that, but all she got me vegan chicken nuggets. In the land of vegan candies, snacks, pizzas, and frozen treats galore, you got me nuggets?? Come on mom?!

Back story aside, I finally got to go on my birthday back in June for the first time. It was part of my gifts- buy whatever you want. Indeed I did. I get anxious easily, so the first trip was a sensory overload. NoWhey, GoMaxGo candy bars that veganize all of your favorite treats, Greyston Bakery (the brownies and blondies are moist with a capital M), May Wah meatless alternatives, local favorite Yeah Pierogi, the list goes on. Sure, they have some products I can find at Wegmans or Walmart, but most of the things they sell cannot be found locally. Just recently they moved to an even larger location across the street, and they have small carts to use now too and even more product. Their old location is now Little Black Heart Coffee Cafe, which was the small coffee bar that was previously behind the counter.

Every trip to the Vegan Grocery Store is special to me. The staff is so friendly and we chat every time. I once had an issue with a damaged candy bar (all the caramel leaked out and the bar was empty, likely due to shipping issues in the Summer), and they kindly refunded me. Some of the prices can be a bit high, but if you were to buy the online it would be more expensive. Besides, shop local. I don't do my normal grocery shopping here, but it is always worth stopping by every few months to stock up on fun vegan finds. Give them a follow on Instagram to stay up to date with all the new products that come in. If you see something you want, go and get it. I made it in time for the vegan pumpkin pie, but missed out on the vegan advent calendar. You never know what will sell out quickly!!

I've been a few times (I would come more often but I live so far away) but every time I visit I always find myself pleasantly surprised and amazed. I love the fact that I can walk into a store without having to read ingredients making sure it's safe to eat! Haha. Love the all vegan grocery store. To it's lovely helpful staff, wide variety of foods and snacks, fair pricing, usage of brown free bags, and new location which is larger...
I'm just in love. Will definitely make more of a effort to come more often.

Bunch of food and snacks for around 100$ not bad at all! Yummmmm!

Such a cute little shop! It's nicely organized and has a large assortment of vegan products (more than what little ol' Wegmans has to offer). I was pleasantly surprised by some of the prices, but the expectation to pay more for something that ethically sourced and made held true - and I certainly don't mind it.
I bought all kinds of goodies to splurge on, and the grocer was very friendly. I was a bit apprehensive about what the atmosphere might be for those just looking to dip their toes into vegan alternatives, but I was pleased to find I had nothing to worry about :) Every little bit counts, right?

Ever tried mushroom jerky before? Highly recommend!

I'll definitely have to head back soon to try out more new treats!
