As an update: The UPS Store in Wethersfield absolutely went above and beyond after my initial review. Shortly after they responded to my first yelp review in May, notifying me about the refund that UPS would send me due to the late delivery (something I never expected), I received a check in the mail. The check was processed automatically based on the expected delivery date, and I never even had to contact UPS directly - all companies should do this!
A few days after I received the refund check in the mail, a staff member from UPS Wethersfield even called me to inquire, and to make sure that I did receive the refund check. I appreciate their follow up, and applaud their great customer service. The UPS Store has a program called the "Guaranteed Service Refund" in which a check will be sent to you directly from UPS reimbursing you for this shipment.

There were a few other customers in the store, but enough staff to help each one of us at the same time. The woman at the register was efficient and helped me create the shipping label, pick out the correct packing material and mail a gift. The price was similar to priority mail at the USPS, included $100 in insurance, and it certainly beat waiting in a very long line at the post office.
I removed a star for UPS in general, not at the fault of anyone at the Wethersfield location. My package was supposed to arrive on a Friday, although it was not delivered until Monday which was disappointing, due to a truck delay. - Mary P.Stuart, FL013Oct 31, 2019
If you are lucky to have Delmys assist you, you can be guaranteed that she is the best!
She went above and beyond to help me.....from long distance! A package for me was routed to the UPS Store in Wethersfield, but I was in Florida! (I'm still trying to understand what happened....)
When I learned of the error, I phoned the store from Florida and was so fortunate that Delmys was there to take my call. She worked some kind of magic to get the package sent to my proper FL address, and even phoned me back after a couple days to reassure me it was on its way, and that she was tracking its progress there as well.
She is truly an asset. Customer service like I've never experienced before. Friendly, professional, calm, reassuring, and she makes the impossible happen.

This store is outstanding - this was true prior to the pandemic but is even more so now. They help with contactless shipments which is a Godsend for seniors and those at high risk.
Everyone at the store is the same - super helpful, friendly and kind. They are very quick and efficient and never a problem.

This is an amazing store and customer service superb!! They are definitely great people. I use to go to them all the time when they first opened til I moved away. My boys still visit this location and they will not trade it for anything. Keep up the great work .

Visiting my family in CT and needed to send some boxes back home to Texas... Mary was patient, kind, and incredibly helpful answering all my questions. She made the whole process of sending all these awkward sized boxes so easy and simple. And what I really appreciated was that Mary took her time and did not get flustered and was a real professional (100% for Customer Service). I thanked the growing line behind me for their patience also since I had a few boxes and a ton of questions. Will definitely ship from here again.

I just had the worst experience of my life at an ups store in wethersfield, ct. I tried to ship some medication to my brother in law in PA, and was trying to ascertain the quickest way to get him his needed medication, as he has one day left. I was consistently being told there are no guarantees, but I could pay for the more expensive service. As I'm talking with the CSR at the counter, another employee starts laughing when I ask why there are no guarantees. I explained that I didn't deserve to be laughed at when he got very elevated very quickly. I asked for his name and role at that branch. I believe he said his name was joe, but he was the owner. I asked for his business card and he slammed a piece of paper in front of me. I told him I didn't want that, as I didn't want to touch more things in the store than I needed to, I asked for his business card. At that point he told me to get out, he wasn't shipping anything for me. I leave the store and him and another guy follow me out to the parking lot and start yelling at me. The other person (early to mid 40's dark hair male) starts yelling at me clearly within the 6' social distancing mandate without a mask on. He explains to me that he is the operations manager, and then tells me to hit him as it will ruin my day. I don't expect to be treated like that by anybody, let alone a business owner or operations manager. I am still shocked at the treatment I received at that store. I believe the store number is 5136.

Comparing the UPS Store to the regular post office/USPS is like comparing filett mignion to dog food, with the UPS Store winning the comparison of being the fillett mignion... I'll let everybody guess who would be the 'dog food.' LOL!!
Firstly the staff at the UPS store are MUCH friendlier and also more helpful. They go out of their way to make every customer feel important, and today was no exception. I was very impressed by there quick and friendly service. I was also impressed with how knowledgeable they were about everything. I have used them a few times in the past, though at different locations. But every time I have come to the UPS store, no matter which location I always have a good experience here. They know there stuff and some seem like they are not afraid to show it off. Showoffs! Just kidding of course.!
The other thing which really impresses me whenever I go to one of their locations is how clean it is! When I compare them to USPS, the UPS Store wins, hands down! Everything is so much more organized, the counters aren't all dusty and the smell is actually pleasant! Even though it's a shipping facility, it doesn't seem -or smell like one. I don't know if they use air fresheners or not, but for someone like me with sensitive allergies to dust and therefore e a keen sense of smell, I notice the difference!
Most important though is how the word 'fragile' really means fragile to them. I have shipped a few breakable items using there service in the past, also including today Each time, my package has arrived in good shape. It seems like that would be a given in the shipping industry, but believe me I have had bad experiences in the past with other mail/shipping services (no names mentioned... lol) and sometimes those items have gotten damaged.
For quick and friendly service, knowledgable staff and just a generally nice atmosphere go to UPS store if you can. I would LOVe to give them a six stars rating, but 5 is as high as it goes unfortunately for them, lol!!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - James M.Berlin, CT021Mar 15, 2020
Visited this location to ship out tires had issues with shipping labels. Liz was exceptional, and went above and beyond to help me get everything situated!

I just had to write a review for this place because I have used them several times when in town and they consistently offer superior customer service. As soon as you walk in the door, you are greeted. The people are extremely friendly and helpful, will tape up boxes for you, and ensure the customer is satisfied. They've earned my business and I will continue to go here every time I'm in Wethersfield, and tell my family about them as well.
