Sushi: amazing // ramen: ok // service: super friendly prices: amazing
I came here today because Eater Dallas said this was one of the best ramen places in Dallas. I have passed by this place literally 10000 times as it's very close to my house and never really paid attention to it.
The prices here are amazing! Literally the best for what you get. Most rolls are 2.50 for 4 pieces, and they are nice sized pieces. I ordered the LBJ roll, Philly roll, fresh salmon, smoked salmon and tonkotsu ramen. The sushi was all delicious. Super fresh and delicious. I think I found my new sushi spot. The ramen on the other hand, was not the best. It was not hot(maybe because it was 80 degrees outside), lacking in flavor, great portion size and good amount of meat. Though the portion size was great, I came for the flavor and it was ok, I've had better in Dallas and Houston.
That's minor though considering there specialty is sushi and they knocked this out the park!!!!!! I'll be back.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Scott S.Dallas, TX97528Jul 6, 2017
Bones in sushi is normal?
I've been coming to Kazys for a long time now - today's visit will probably be my last. I ordered a sushi lunch combo that comes with a spicy tuna roll. Bit into it and found a pretty good sized bone. Asked the man at the register and he proceeded to tell me that it is perfectly normal and it happens. 30 years I've been eating sushi and never once have I been presented any type of sushi with bones in it. Their general lack of 'give a damn' & total lack of concern with quality control is what had made me decide to venture elsewhere to get my sushi fix.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Jul 26, 2013
Sushi bar review:
The sushi here is very good and affordable. I wouldn't say it's on par with any of Dallas's top sushi spots but it's above average and about 20-40% cheaper. Kazy's is fish wholesaler so the fish is excellent quality. I tried the 10 pc nigiri special (tuna, salmon, yellowtail, shrimp, and eel) and cup of miso soup. If I had to complain about anything I'd say the rice could have been cooked slightly longer but overall I was impressed.
The restaurant portion was recently remodel and has three tables for 6 and a few spots for parties of 1-2. After reading older reviews, it was a much cleaner and nicer than I expected. And there was no fishy smell whatsoever.
Great place to grab a quick lunch. They also have rice bowls, udon, and ramen. I plan to go back to buy everything needed to make sushi at home. They sell the rice, fish, pickled ginger, wasabi, and soy sauce.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Wesley C.Richardson, TX413235Jun 28, 2019
I have been here for lunch a few times. It takes a little bit of time to get their food but it is so fresh. The fish melts in your mouth like butter. Their sushi is very simple and affordable but there isn't a lot of variation. You won't find fried sushi here. I highly recommend it.

I just got back from a lunch at Kazy's where i had tonkotsu ramen. To be honest, this was among the worst ramen I have had. The noodles themselves were molded in a clump at the bottom of the bowl, the broth was almost flavorless, and the meat that came with it was small and grey looking. But, I don't expect the best in the world at that price, so I'll give them 3 stars for the effort.
Also, listen to me when I say that if you see a table of weeaboos when you arrive, fucking flee. Waiting for my meal next to a table full of weeaboos trying to out Japanese each other was maybe my version of hell, which I of course deserve greatly.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Stephanie K.Richardson, TX372193394Jan 27, 2017
I like that the sushi is affordable but I just don't see good quality in here. I understand that this place supply to restaurants but some restaurants just don't have the quality there. This place is A-okay for sure and I think the price matches up to it. Also, don't expect much service as it's more casual. Still, very good for something quick and affordable.

OMG where do I begin?!!! this place is beyond exquisite! Everything that we tried was out of this world! Fresh sushi, yummy Ramen, and above all reasonable prices! I almost don't want to say too much because I don't want to spoil this hidden gem - but I am so glad that I found it via Yelp I will continue to share. This is an extreme hole-in-the-wall joint and it may be the best hole-in-the-wall I have found living here in the DFW area. Their rolls are all about $2 per order.... come on now! How can you beat that? But most important , The Taste. It is absolutely worth going for! The staff is extremely nice and helpful. It is a small store with a sushi bar. The store offers many Japanese products including food, beauty products, and cooking supplies. You can find anything you can really think of. I will definitely will be going back . Only complaints is that the crab puffs we're not full of crab meat and cream cheese like your typical Rangoons. they are really like in "a puff" I guess that's why it's name the crab puffs ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ lol

Kazy's is a very small Japanese grocery store with a restaurant that takes up about 1/3 of the store.
I am very impressed by how many Japanese snacks, condiments, foods, etc. that they sell. You can also purchase sashimi grade fish from the sushi bar!
I tried the shrimp tempura roll, ikura, masago, spicy tuna roll, and the spider roll. I liked everything except for the spider roll. The shrimp tempura roll was delicious! And the ikura was so fresh!!!!
I will definitely be back for lunch again!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mark M.Carrollton, Dallas, TX16653Feb 28, 2017
There is no good sushi around this area except for Kazy's. I recommend it to my coworkers and they enjoy it too.
Kazy's has tasty sushi, and other Japanese dishes, at affordable prices. They also sell Japanese grocery items (cookies/candies/noodles/etc) and bulk sushi-grade seafood (so you can make sushi or nigiri yourself). This place should be on your lunch rotation! It's a great place to grab some Japanese food to take to your office, or dine in on their wooden tables while surrounded by your fellow sushi-lovers.
Kazy's is at the Abrams exit off LBJ, opposite to the piano store, at the corner of Markville and LBJ.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Esmeralda M.Garland, TX1509Aug 1, 2017
Came a whiiile back and wanted to bring my boyfriend, I have no clue why sushi is so expensive at other places but it's at such a reasonable price here! Each sushi plate ranges from $1.50-$3.90 and they come with four sushi rolls. We got a bento box, veggie sushi, California roll, teriyaki chicken and two drinks for $20!! That's crazy and we're both super full and super satisfied! Very awesome place for a nice cheap date(:
