Wow, this strip mall has changed tremendously from when I grew up here in the 70's! It is filled with upscale shops including The Fresh Market.

I'm a big fan of The Shoppes at Hilltop as evidenced by frequent visits each week. It's not new, but well kept with upscale stores. Sometimes there is confusion with other Hilltop stores at the intersection so keep in mind there is signage.
The Shops at Hilltop are located on the Southeast corner off the intersection of Laskin and First Colonial. All the shops are collectively known as The Shoppes of Hilltop. However, the break it down by East and West.
Customers have one access point off First Colonial and three off Laskin. If there is a drawback it's the bottleneck on the First Colonial side during rush. I have never had an issue with parking. The lot can be a bit hit or miss on debris. They do have a few security guards that patrol. I have never felt unsafe.
The stores I frequent the most are Fruitive, Fresh Market, Bottlecraft, Bakers Crust, Cobalt Grille, Tino and Nectar. A few more in between as there are a lot of stores.
My family enjoy the Shoppes at Hilltop and I would recommend working them in your rotation. Many are local businesses which is more reason.Helpful 39Thanks 0Love this 37Oh no 0 - Dec 4, 20202 check-ins
I'm a big fan of this shopping center. It has lots of local specialty shops and chains as well as some great local restaurants and it's huge. I mean, H-U-G-E.
It's so big it has several roads and stoplights in an out and is split into Hilltop North, West, South, etc. Due to the road construction and the access roads, I suggest you enter and exit at stoplights to save yourself the road rage. There is plenty of parking and it's an easy park and walk shopping center.
You can come here and spend hours and hours shopping. There are restaurants for snacks and meals while you shop like Baker's Crust, Fruitive, Taste, etc. and there are places for grab and go items too like Fresh Market or a coffee from Roast Rider. For more upscale there is Blue Fin and Butcher's Son and Melting Pot.
My favorite furniture store is here after moving out of the huge spot they held at Town Center a few years ago, Ethan Allan, as well as a few more speciality home decor places like Kitchen Barn.
There are tons and tons of salons and spa and nail places as well as an optometrist, tailors, and men's and women's specialty clothing stores like Bridal, etc.
There are a bunch of places to shop for gifts and home decor including a Hallmark store and a few locally owned shops, my faves are Be Jeweled and Wild Birds Unlimited (not just for bird stuff trust me).
There are also some specialty fitness places like a newer Cycle Bar I saw last time I was there, as well as Trek bicycle shop and a Great Outdoor Provision Co store and the only Athleta store in VAB I think.
There are also several banks (like 5!) and a CVS and Rite Aid so you can get some prescriptions and drop off deposits (or get more money) while you're here!
I love coming over here for a day of shopping, snacks, and spoiling myself. If you have friends or family from out of town or you're looking for something specific but don't have time to run all over, you can probably get most things done in just this one spot.

What a great shopping center. Yummy eats. Tasty Dessert. International Cuisine. Coffee. Jewelry that will sparkle from across the room. Clothing and home goods. Office Supplies. Groceries and much more. I LOVE Adele Diamond because the inventory is very carefully curated and the atmosphere is so great that you begin to feel like family. Fresh Market has now become my go to on certain days when they have great deals. Many specialty items here. Bring $$$. I've found enough surprising deals at Stein Mart to keep me coming back. Ballad I is the place to visit if you've got a taste for Mediterranean. I don't know if Bonchon coming here is a rumor but I am so here for it! PLEASE!!! CVS is ready to serve all of your healthcare needs with plenty of stock, excellent pharmacy staff and a minute clinic. Five Guys Fries. Starbucks for your coffee fix and your friendly neighborhood YMCA awaits. I hope you're ready to build your custom sandwich at TASTE and wash it down with a Boylan's natural soda.

I love this shopping center!
It's on Laskin Road in Virginia Beach. Here, you'll find a great mix of restaurants - No Frill Bar & Grill - one of my personal favorites, Baker's Crust, Cobalt Grill, the newer "Your Pie" pizza, Taste Unlimited, The Melting Pot, Azars, just to name SOME.
There are also some great spots for drinks - Fruitive, Starbucks, Roast Rider Coffee + Tea, and an ABC store (Heehee, I said drinks, right?)
I love that there are the bigger retail stores (Office Max & Stein Mart to name a couple), but especially love the smaller specialty shops such as Forbes Candies & the Creative Wedge. I highly suggest that you check both of these stores out; I've done separate reviews on them.
There is not much more to say...it's a really great shopping center. Come here to shop, dine, & drink!Helpful 7Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Amy B.Queensbury, NY4411Aug 29, 2019
Best area to shop and eat! I love No Frill Grill and Fire and Vine! Trader Joe's is also in this area. Nice area to visit or live in.

Love Hilltop! I have been shopping Hilltop for over 14 years since I moved here. In fact when we needed a bigger home- staying close to this area was very important. It has my favorite place for groceries (the Fresh Market), my favorite salon (Coucoon), best wine shop (Tinto), Wild Birds Unlimited, great restaurants to choose from (Taste, No Frill Grill, Baker's Crust, Fire & Vine, Azar's, Baladi, Fruitive...), great specialty shops (BeJeweled, Creative Wedge, Kitchen Barn...) and several places to workout, clothing boutiques,... I find myself shopping here several times a week!
Definitely a local's favorite but also great if you're visiting the Oceanfront since it's just a couple miles from the beach. Highly recommend getting off the beach to discover these great local businesses that take pride in what they do. Undoubtedly you will find more unique specialty shops than the Oceanfront for affordable quality gifts and jewelry in every price range for souvenirs, as well as dine at some of the BEST local restaurants!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marisa S.Memphis, TN4276302006Jan 14, 2015First to Review
I pretty much live at HillTop. I live on the oceanfront and this is the closest shopping area for us. Plus, it has all of our favorites. Taste, Fresh Market, Total Wine, Dive Quarters, Moes, Panera Bread, Pigtails & Crewcuts, Target. Right down the street is our dog's grooming salon and our favorite movie theater..Beach Movie Bistro. There is also Walgreens, Rite Aid, CVS (24 hr one), Hallmark, Plow & Hearth, and more! You can pretty much find everything you need all in the HillTop area.

Everything you need is in Hilltop. Great food options in all price ranges. The YMCA where I exercise is friendly and laid back. You can buy art, gifts (TheCreative Wedge is my personal fav), grocery shop, clothing, get your hair done, sample wines and much more. Plenty of parking, overhangs over the side walks to allow shopping between stores even in the rain.
