The Rockin' Horse Saloon & Grill

This is the worst non-college bar I've ever been to. I came in on a Friday night with two friends and the service was extremely slow unfortunately. There seemed to be only one server working and I thank her for the good customer service she provided. I ordered mozzarella sticks, and my friends ordered two appetizers in addition, which were loaded tots and nachos. I was the only one who ordered an entree, which was the Philly Cheese Steak Sandwich.

My appetizer came out within minutes, while my friends did not receive their appetizers until I got my entree (30+ minutes after we ordered), which we found crazy. The sandwich I ordered was alright, as I thought the bread could've been better and more vegetables could've been included for the price I paid for the entree. My friend was able to get his beer and refills fast, which was very nice.

I think the biggest thing holding this place back from being pretty good is the lack of staff and the experience of the bar. The bar was half full basically, and there was only one server, and I wonder how little kitchen staff there was. Since the place is labeled as a Saloon, I was expecting more of a country theme as the environment, but that wasn't the case.

This was my first time here, and last. Came for bar-bingo with some friends. Got there at 5 (bingo started at 6), and there was only 1 other person in the place, which is fine. However, service shouldn't suck then, right? But it did. They do have $2 domestics and $4 well drinks from 4:30-7:00.

The place filled up around 6 for bingo. There was one person working. She had to wait on all the tables, make all the drinks, run all the food. She was literally running and doing the best she could. I felt bad for her. There was another lady there (maybe the owner), who walked slowly around, doing much of nothing but talking on her cell phone.

Food was below average bar food - nothing worth mentioning.

I have no desire to ever come here again. The place wasn't dirty, but it didn't feel clean either.

They had over populated the entire area, it was barely moving room and only two bar tenders. There were a lot of angry customers that Saturday night.

Be prepared to pay $10-20 to park on premise as well as $10+ to get in just to sit around and listen to lame music and purchase overpriced beer! I didn't even bother ordering food as I knew it would be a waste to do so. This place overcharges like it is a bar in downtown Chicago. Totally lame. A friend and I left after a half hour and went to lingers a few miles away with better food, way better dj, lit atmosphere and free entry and parking. Don't waste your time here.

The south side Bloody Mary used to be so much better! The Bloody Mary was bland, the burger had no flavor & the wing was terrible. Our fried pickles weren't even breaded and was just awful. The waitress charged us more than was supposed to & wasn't going to say anything about it. We asked & were refunded thank god. Slots pay out but definitely won't be coming back.

I really liked this place I am so disappointed to hear they closed. I loved the music played. They had good food and strong drinks. I've been to a few celebrity appearances here. I'm hoping with enough good reviews maybe they will open back up. Fingers crossed.

Before it closed about a year ago it was awesome food was great. My husband and sons would walk over to have dinner watch games and listen to bands until 9 when the boys had to leave. They had a nice rooftop beer garden it was really enjoyable. They were closed because of sprinkler issues but re-opened a few months ago we were all excited. But the new owners ruined the bar it should not even be called a saloon. It is more of a club that caters to a specific clientele and it is not the residents of Oak Forest. You can smell the marijuana coming from the rooftop they are always over crowded and their patrons are disrespectful and nasty they have thrown used condoms in the my yard by the street. *** by clientele I mean people from the city that are loud and stay out all night not realizing that this is a quiet neighborhood or having respect for the families surrounding it.****

BEWARE!!! Never never never go to a concert here! We purchased VIP meet and greet tickets for a concert that started at 7:30PM.... leaving past 12am and still no show!!!

This was a complete scam! There was no meet and greet and no seating!!!! This is a complete scam just to get patrons!!! There was no VIP preference, you will only pay for general admission ... standing only. This is a horrible business practice and they should be ashamed!

Definitely wouldn't come back. They clearly brought people in here under false pretenses for this Keri Hilson event. Not worth my time, the drive or money spent for the VIP "meet & greet" ticket. Nothing about this was VIP. There was no proper communication or organization going on. Eventually there was a couple of announcements saying she was on the way. I know artists are known to roll in a place real late, so with that being said why say the event started much earlier than it actually did?! I could've came later. Actually got to eat and drink because that was impossible in here with the tables all occupied and the bar overcrowded. Will she actually perform and will there be time for "greeting"? I prob won't find out because I'll be long gone. All in all...again just not worth my time and money.
