The Pretty Kitty

I've been a regular at The Pretty Kitty for over a year, and their service is excellent. It's fast, but comfortable, and I can go four or five weeks between visits. When I was at European Wax Center, I had to go every three. The employees are lovely to talk to and professional, and I've never waited more than 5 minutes to be seen.

I came in here tonight on a whim without an appointment
There was a nice pregnant girl sitting at the receptionist area.
The lady doing the spots was on a break.
But I was able to charge my phone.
I decided to grab something to eat and it took forever
They were nice enough to text me to come back
Unfortunately I didn't make it back in time, for the waxing because they closed at 8

I only know the Las Vegas locations.
This was my first time here
Gets 5 stars cause the place was pretty and it was my fault.

I purchased a Groupon for this waxing studio. I chose to go to the Montclair location. My wax came out perfectly. My aesthetician was Kristen. Kristen advised that my waxing may not go well considering I didn't wait 4 weeks without shaving. She gave me the option to opt out of my appointment and come back another time. So a tip for all the ladies as per Kristen, you should go 4 weeks without shaving to get the best wax results. I didn't wait that long and my waxing went well. I've read the comments where people said she was warm and friendly. I didn't get those vibes at all. I didn't think she was nasty either. She had a job to do. So she did it. I asked her to be gentle. She told me 'there's no gentle way to wax'. The waxing studio appeared to be very clean and very esthetically pleasing. I would totally go back again.

It was my first time getting a Brazilian wax and decided to try the pretty kitty since it was near my job. They don't have a parking lot and street parking depending on the time can be a hassle so I park in the garage for $1.00.

I called the day of and asked if they had any openings and they were able to take me in at 11:15. I got there at 11, filled out some paperwork and was immediately sent to the room to get waxed.

Kristen was great!! I told her it was my first time and guided me throughout the whole wax. I didn't feel any pain which was surprising. It literally felt like pulling tape off your skin. Kristen answered all my questions I had and was very sweet! I booked my next appointment w/ her (4-6 weeks, she advises).

Overall, the place was very clean and sanitary and the employees were nice! So I def recommend this place.

This spot was so cute and made the waxing experience very comfortable. It was cheaper than European Wax Center too! They were also very clean. If you're looking for parking you can park in the garage nearby! I highly recommend The Pretty Kitty for all of your waxing needs.

Came to the pretty kitty after coming across a pretty sweet deal online for a Brazilian wax. I have been waxing for nearly three years now, I have been to numerous waxing locations and have experienced different kinds of waxing, including waxing from the comfort of my own home.

The process of making an appointment was fine, was able to get a date and time I needed, and ended up having to change the time back an hour or so the day of which was accommodated so I can definitely appreciate that.

The inside itself has nice decor and is clean which is something I always look for. I didn't wait long after arrival and was taken back into one of the waxing rooms. Being that I have been waxing for so long, my hair growth is minimal. I could have waxed myself but had already purchased the deal online so figured I may as well use it.

The technique they use here is cloth strip waxing. For someone who hardly had any hair growth, I felt this was way more painful than hard waxing technique (otherwise known as stripless waxing) and it also left me way more irritated than I have ever been.

With that being said, I'm not really a fan, I didn't feel there was anything special about the way they wax for what they charge. Everyone has their own waxing preference though as far as strip wax or hard wax and after this experience I think I will stick to hard wax.

Overall it wasn't a horrible experience so I had no problem giving four stars based on customer service, cleanliness, and the decor of the location. Just based on my preference alone, I won't return. I also will note that in my opinion having been to several other waxing salons, they are very overpriced. Average for a Brazilian tends to be around $30-35, even $40 if it's on the pricier side, here they charge $59. Shop around before you decide on where to get your first wax, just because they charge the most doesn't make them the best.

Never thought I would say "wow!" when referring to a Brazilian wax. I've had them done at different places throughout the years, but this was my first time at the Pretty Kitty after purchasing a Groupon. Kristen gave me the quickest and least painful wax I have ever had. I will absolutely come back to see her again!

Followed Kristen from the pretty kitty in hoboken. I wouldn't trust anyone else with this! she's incredible, intuitive , and attentive! Very careful not to cause too much pain !

I love Pretty Kitty! I was made to feel very welcome and everyone was patient, professional, and cordial. I love that they are by appointments and stick to their appointments. They are timely and you are taken care of fast and efficiently.

Jenna Vitale is by far the most professional, sweet, and darn good waxer on this planet. As a first time Brazilian wax customer, I was hesitant and nervous. Jenna explained the entire process as she did it and gave me tidbits on maintenance as well as made sure I was comfortable at all times. I will be expanding on my waxing needs and ONLY go to the Pretty Kitty as long as they exist. Keep up the great work!!

I had the most amazing experience, Sam was pleasant and warm. I've gone to other places where it felt like they were literally ripping my skin off, but today I went with one of my friends and honestly I felt like I could have spent the whole day there! That's how painless it was!!! Not only did I leave happy and prebooked , but my friend (who had never gotten waxed before) couldn't wait to come back!

After reading the reviews I was a bit timid to come especially with a groupon. Most places tend to treat you differently because of it but it truly was a great experience!!! Thank you so much Sam!!
