I don't think Plain Dealer deserves one star. I've been trying to have my paper delivered in a timely manner and they have ghosted me. I started in September and now it's November. They ignore customers! This paper is crap and I'm sure it won't stay in business long. Don't waste your money.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer has perhaps the WORST Customer Service of any organization that I have ever dealt with. I have been a subscriber for over 30 years but ever since 2022, the paper has constantly been delivered late. I call and complain and am promised from some person at a remote location that he or she will look into the late deliveries and pass the information on up to a manager. But nothing changes. Now, instead of receiving the paper late, I am not receiving the paper at all and I have a subscription that is paid up through December 3, 2024 per the Plain Dealer person that I spoke with several weeks ago. I sent out an email to the Plain Dealer corporate office asking someone to call me and explain why I am not receiving a paid for newspaper but no one has responded. Obviously, based on other comments that I have read, I am not the only one experiencing this terrible customer service!

No other business could get away with promising to "deliver" a service and then not make that happen. Unfortunately, the PD has no competition in NE Ohio. After creating a vacation hold of one week, we've not received a paper in the two weeks following the end of that hold. I've submitted an online notice of the problem and have called their office five times. Still no paper. Each time I call, I speak with a "concerned" and "disappointed" employee who assures me that this is a terrible problem and that he'll write a note to his superior about the issue. I've asked that a "superior" call me, but that hasn't happened. I've also been repeatedly reminded that there's an online version of the paper. I don't want that since I receive the NYT that way. I want the actual paper that I'm paying for. This is frustrating and it's completely irresponsible from a business standpoint.

Best to just go to the local newsstand or store and pick up a paper than get a subscription because at least you know you can get your paper in a timely fashion with no frustration to the business directly. Remember to not cave to digital! Long live printing press!

I receive the paper on Sunday. A couple of weeks ago no Sunday paper. Called Customer Service dept. at Plain Dealer around 10:45 am, assured me carrier running a little late, but I should have it by Noon. Called after 12:00 pm and I said still no paper, they said they are going to send a text to the carrier, and I said the carrier is going to come out this late, and they assured me the carrier would
I was skeptical and sure enough no paper was ever delivered that day. I used the automated phone system to request a credit, but two billing cycles later, no credit for the missed paper.
I am not impressed with the Customer ServiceDept at the PD.Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 1 - Randall S.Pittsburgh, PA060May 2, 2023
Absolutely hilarious that they attempt to charge for articles that would be free nearly everywhere else. Enjoy irrelevance, will not spend a cent for what should be free content. Not to mention, the correlation between them removing the comments section from their site at the same time they began price gouging.

Didn't get my ebill. PD called me and they said they would re send it. I never got it. After a few weeks I sent a check. Then they turned my account off. Still dont have it back. With the way the business is going you would think they would have better service.

The circulation department is a joke. Have tried twice in one year to get the Sunday paper delivered (after they contacted me) i signed up again. 3 weeks later, no paper just a laundry list of excuses. Even got a call from a supervisor promising to have it delivered. I believed him. NO paper again. They also offered to extend the subscription at no charge. Ha what's the point if you can't deliver the paper as promised. Cancelled the subscription, now watch I'll get the paper.

The Plain Dealer has hit a new low. After failing to deliver four out five of the last scheduled deliveries, we canceled home delivery....the first time in my life I have opted out delivery of a paper. I went to Walgreens' and purchased an "early Sunday edition." What they should call the "early Sunday edition" is "yesterday's paper," The paper cost $5.00 and it was basically the prior day's paper with maybe ten pages containing any news relevant Sunday paper. Bait and switch.
