Owl Tree

Stopped by here after the Christmas pop up bar around the corner was closed. Surprised to see this bar had no line and was a little empty. A win for us! Owl tree has lots of owl decorations so the name is very suiting. It was nicely decorated for Christmas and the drinks are reasonable! Cocktails under $14! Nice booth and table seating. They had sports on one tv screen and a GoPro promo video on the other so that was kind of strange. Not sure what the clientele was but the old fashioned and Manhattan was nicely made. Will come here again.

Nice little bar near union square. They have good drinks and nice customer service. We had a couple of la Paloma's and were surprised that the charge was a couple bucks more than the menu price. It looked like we were charged extra for a top shelf alcohol. It's all good because we did enjoy the drinks.

The atmosphere was welcoming and had a chill vibe, with lots of cute and quirky owl decor and art throughout. The place was packed with people on a Saturday night, but seats opened up at the bar in no time, so it worked out. Great service from the bartender. The old fashioned and hootie hoo gin and tonic were your classic cocktails but with fancier names on the "Wet Your Beak" menu, and made well. Also tried Blanton's bourbon, which had a nice balanced taste with just a tinge of sweetness. Decent drinks, good service, a pretty cool place to hangout.

Dropped by for some pregame drinks with a friend and this place did not disappoint! We sat at the bar and the bartender was very friendly - talkative and clearly close with the regulars but not too chatty that we felt they were in our face or anything.

The drinks were HEAVY pours which we appreciated since we were there to pregame for a concert. The shots were huge!!

Small corner of the street bar with a locals heavy vibe. Dark and casual, loved it and definitely will be coming back!

Charming dark little place. Tables were beautifully lit and drinks had great presentation. So glad we stopped here during our trip to SF.

I have walked by this bar soooo many times and when a friend said let's go I didn't hesitate to say yes. What a fun little gem this place is. Friendly staff, decent prices, and delicious drinks what more could you ask for?

Well, Owl Tree provided a cozy not overly crowded seating area, fun music, festive decor and very cool owl sculpture on the back wall. My favorite part was the super friendly staff who greeted me with a smile and helped me pick out a drink. Will def be coming back and won't be walking past it as much anymore. Must try.

I stopped into Owl Tree with some friends around midnight. They had security at the door to check ID's and they were super friendly, which is always a great thing when checking out a new bar.

It wasn't overly crowded, and we found a table to hang out at while we enjoyed our drinks.

One of our friends went up to the bar to order and the bartender was nice enough to deliver them straight to the table. I wonder if this is both good service and a safety measure. Either way, I noticed it and appreciate it.

I'll definitely keep this spot in mind for my next SF trip.

Owl tree is a quaint corner bar. Stopped in on a late night Saturday for a mule and martini with bae. Both our drinks were made with care. Our bartender Ashley was super great, great drinks. Great customer service and cute vibe and good music.

Happy to see the Owl Tree open! I was here in October and was sad to see it closed. Shout out to the doorman who carded my old ass! LOL! We scored a small table and just had a drink. Still great vibe of people from all walks of life! Friendly bar staff and strong drinks!

This is a tiny place that is cozy and not loud even when it is packed. Bartender made an excellent Manhattan. She stayed friendly and talked a bit despite it getting crowded. I will return any time I am near Union Square.
