12/11/2021Happy to see the Owl Tree open! Â I was here in October and was sad to see it closed. Â Shout out to the doorman who carded my old ass! Â LOL! Â We scored a small table and just had a drink. Â Still great vibe of people from all walks of life! Â Friendly bar staff and strong drinks!

4/12/2022Went here for the first time recently, place was hoppin' and the bartenders were super friendly.
At the end of the night, when the bar was closing got the bill, it was definitely more expensive then I was expecting, got charged a little of 100 before tax and tip for 6 drinks, three of which were just beers. It was the end of the night and my friend needed to go, so I didn't want to argue, just tipped, signed and left.
Two days later I was paying my monthly credit card bill and saw the amount charged on my card did not match my final bill. They had increased my total after I had signed the receipt. I know because  with tip I always leave a round number total and this was not. Luckily I also signed my receipt and taken it with me, I always do this when I visit a place for the first time. I emailed letting them know of the issue, I wrote on their "contact us" portion of the website, I called and no one ever picked up.
It's a shame, the place has a cool vibe and like I said, bartenders were friendly. But to mess around with other people's money, especially after the fact and not respond, I can't recommended a place like that. - Chris B.Dayton, OH667
8/30/2021I have great memories of this bar. I used to come from Ohio to work at FAO Schwartz for about 2 Â months around the holidays. I always stayed at the Bedford Hotel just up the street (Post St).
I was only in my 20s and that little bar become my spot. I even spent Christmas Eve there one year. It was sad, and fun, and charming all at the same time. Always great conversations to be had in that little bar. The man with the white hair owned it back then. I don't recall his name but wonder if he's still around. That was nearly 30 years ago so not likely. Anyway, it was fun to reminisce. If this bar is still open be sure to stop in. - Patrick D.Pleasanton, CA010
1/23/2022Great local bar. Comfortable vibe to match the great cocktails. Â If you want something that's away from the touristy, overpriced Union Square bars then this is your place.

8/13/2021This place for being so close to Union Square. Nice bartenders and not too busy or loud. Good place to stop by on the way home from work for a beer or cocktail. I highly recommend it.

8/20/2021Their website says open, but they are closed indefinitely. Â
I planned a happy hour at the Owl
Tree based on their status of "Open" on their website. Â Â People started showing up and it was actually closed. Â I had to scramble at the start of the HH to find a new place and reach out to everyone individually. Â What a logistical
Hassle they caused. - 1448337656
5/19/2018Nice little neighborhood bar. Never too crowded and they have really cool weird movies playing. The bartenders are attentive.
Used to live in the hood and this was one of my go-to places. A good mix of locals and tourists, but mostly locals. - 923526
4/21/2019I used to frequent this bar back in the day, when the original owner Bobby still tended the bar. He was the first person I ever saw roll his sleeves up tucked inside the sleeve. Fascinating bit of innovation and fastidiousness.
He made a great martini and I drank as many as I could.
His basket of snack mix was the bomb. Here's a Pro Tip: this place still has the snack mix, but they don't offer it. You need to ask for it... and out it comes!
In the urinals they had ice, just like the bar your grandpa went to in the 1950s and 60s. It's fun to pee into the ice.
Ah, to be young and living in Pacific Heights again. When The Mission was where the poor people lived and Noe Valley was too far away to go. When Bobby tended the bar and all was right in the world. - 1744441106
1/14/2020I think Owl Tree is my new favorite in San Fran. Â It's dark and romantic with incredible service and great cocktails. Â TVs to keep you occupied yet doesn't take away from the old school bar vibe. Â There was a group of intoxicated Brits when we arrived, and the bartender had them stop and drink water for a bit...which was needed for all involved. Â She cared! Â She didn't ask them to leave but asked them to help themselves and I loved it as did they. Â They cooperated and the party started back up shortly thereafter :-). Â Great people and what a diverse crowd! Â Heavy on the pours and no jiggers, as a decent bar should be. Â I understand there is another room upstairs, but it was closed off for the night. Â It was Christmas Eve after all, so I get it. Â I loved the music being played as we were all singing and having a glorious time! Â The crowd was older that night, but I could see where it would be a varied mix when not a holiday. Â Go! Â Trust me, it's just a cool spot!

1/1/2020I came to the Owl Tree few times. Â I decided to hang out at the Owl Tree for new year eve 12/31/19 to celebrate the 2020 new year. Â I went to other bars but chosen this bar to celebrate new year.
I am the guy with glasses and hearing device in case you remembered me.
I want to thank the bartenders Anna, one more bartender forgot her name and the bouncer the tall black guy very nice for their providing a fun place to hang out for new year. Â I ordered sparking wine and the sparking wine was sooooooo good not bad for $13.
I met many great people. Thank you Dave and Amanda for a great conversation I hope you made it to San Luis O bispo safely and once again congrats on your upcoming newborn baby coming soon. Â After they left another two guys came sat next to me the whole time was very friendly. Â I met so many amazing people including Adam that is local and three people from Arizona.
After 2020 started to BOOM the balloon pop and glitter fell over the whole bar and some of those gold glittery paper gotten into my glasses LOL it was funny. Now, that what I call a PARTY!!!!!!!!!!
For those of you who were concern about me walking back to my hotel I made it safely no problem.
I will be a repeat I hope to see you guys again HAPPY NEW YEAR 2020!!!!!!!!!!
