The Original Chubby's

Chili cheese fries with chicharrones?! Something that I never realized that I needed to try. My friend took me here for my first time as she couldn't believe that I've never had Chubby's before. It's not the cleanest or cutest inside, but I could care less about how a place looks as long as the food tastes good!

Service was a little slow, but still fast for how many people were waiting for their orders. I appreciate that the fries were actually spicy and the the chicharrones were crunchy and so yummy. I could feel heartburn forming as I was eating but sometimes good food just does that to you. Definitely want to go here again and try something new!

Meh, I tried to call in a "to-go" order, just for them to tell me to "let us know when your in the building" When I arrived to when I paid for my "to-go" order it was 45 mins, granted it was dinner time. Guess the "to-go" function is broken here .

Everything about this restaurant was spectacular! The weight staff suggested the best breakfast burrito I could've asked for! Everything was amazingly great! I got a huge breakfast burrito and I won't have to eat for the rest of the day! The restaurant was immaculate it was so clean!I would highly recommend this for the best best burrito for breakfast in Denver!

Hard to understand why only 2 1/2 star average rating for Chubby's. Terrific, original Mexican food and burgers. Always busy and for a reason, friendly service, great menu. I had the chile relleno burrito, smothered with delicious green chile. Loved it!

I Was a regular at Chubby's until Sunday 3/24/25. I took my mom and brother to eat at the Chubby's on 73rd and Federal. Ordered and waited, was slightly busy, got my food and it was short one meal and also one meal was not what i ordered. I was told that they didn't have two items I ordered even though i was not told at time of ordering and still charged. The girl i spoke to was rude, short and unprofessional. She said they couldn't refund It. They put my moms and brothers food on the same plate. One of the items she claimed was out was given to a customer who sat next to us to eat as we were finished eating. I called next morning and spoke to a nice girl named Angel who said she would have the Manager/ HR call me. Still no call back a day later. I will not be going back to that location. The tables and floors were dirty, food was so dry, that place has gotten so bad, and the staff so disorganized, rude and unprofessional.

Former Denver resident here. It's been 6 years since I ate here, was a regular.

They haven't missed a beat. Same hot, gloppy nuclear green chile, same crispy chicharrones, same lardy beans.

My smothered burrito was a delightful gut bomb. I ordered a pint of the green chile to go to dump on my homemade breakfast burritos.

The OG lives on.

Terrible fucking customer service went there late night was waiting 20 min before someone actually paid attention to me to take my order . Waiting two more fucking hours to find out they already called my number never once did I hear them call my number I asked the lady with pig tails how much longer she said we didn't call your number and when I asked 15 min later the old lady said we already called it like could you guys not see I was waiting
for two hours and you all kept taking orders and giving other customers their food 5 min after they had already placed an order . What a fucking waste of my time the food was very cold and they didn't do shit to fix that either definitely do NOT RECOMMEND.

I haven't been here in years. But I had to get this since Santiago's was closed the day I flew into Denver and I needed my green chile fix before heading into the mountains to visit family. I do not recommend attempting to eat these while driving. I was wearing a lot of it by the time I got home lol. But I highly recommend eating the smothered green chili fries in basically any other situation! I got them with steak but honestly I think they would have been just as delicious with just the fries, chili, and queso. Service was fast, store was clean. Def great drunk food too.

This is my hubby's preference for grab and go Mexican food. It's just okay to me though, but it's consistent. As much as I love a beef and bean burrito, I have to be mindful of how I order one from here because it's like they pile on a bowl of beans and a spoon of beef. But their chicharones are delicious!

This was our last smothered burrito place for out trip. They have late hours but unfortunately when we went it was takeout only. They had closed three dining room area and even turned off the lights. They were still very busy and had a lot of people waiting for their food. The prices were also really fair and despite that bad reviews, the wait to get our food wasn't even that long. These ladies are aggressive here, and definitely not the friendliest, but they're not rude either.

The burrito was really good and had some heat. It was also a little high on the sodium level, and a bit too much at times, but I couldn't stop eating it. The burrito was also very filling and the steak was tender and flavorful. I will definitely be returning.
