Q:
Hi, we are still waiting for our subscription to be properly delivered. Daily for the back house and Thursday-Sunday for the front house. Please help. We've called so many times. Can someone confirm?
A:
I usually had no problem with the physical edition, now getting edition only. But 796-7777 is the # to call. Hope this helps.
Robert C.Q:
How does one cancel subscriptions? How does one cancel auto pay?
A:
I called to cancel mine, but can probably do it it in your online account...maybe. When you call though, they will KEEP trying to make you offers to stay! Good luck!

I would also give them 0. I live in oakland, ca, but was interested in something in the orange county area so I took trial subscription which I cancelled by phone before that trial ended. I recall that it was really hard to contact them. Anyway, I now see that I have been charged $14 a month since Jan 9, 2024, even though I had already cancelled my subscription. And I certainly didn't get any notice that subscription renewal was coming up. They make it almost impossible to cancel and definitely impossible to get any money back. Customer service claims they never got a cancellation call or email. I recall that there was no way to cancel online. (I don't check my credit card statement regularly and didn't discover this until just now. Definitely lesson learned.)

Rip-off! Sham! Shame on the OC Register, and I say this due to their billing policy. I saw a deal online for $9.00 per year and $3.50 per week thereafter, but they have ramped up my fees over time to $64.22 every 4 weeks. Quite a difference, and when I called all them about it, all they offered me was subscription for a little over $50 every 4 weeks. Felt like I was being talked down to as well, like a petulant child, which only added insult to injury. This is how they treat long-standing, loyal customers. Pretty scuzzy if you ask me. If I could, I would give them zero stars.

Have been a customer for 30 plus years. Even delivered the paper when I was a kid in Anaheim. A few months ago I subscribed for the year paid in full. With the election coming up it became harder & harder for me to get through the front page with the papers deep liberal views that I do not agree with so I called & canceled 7.30.24 still no refund a month later & when you call their pathetic customer service alls you get is a run around they can't tell me when I will get My money back ridiculous company.

You would like me to pay to read your Newspaper online, YES? And so you want me to pay to read your paper chock-full of advertising?
How is this working out for you?
I think your marketing team needs some work. Sell more advertising so your customers won't need to pay to read your newspaper.
works for me
PS I am a five-star rated contractor on Yelp, so this might be some very good advice.Helpful 2Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 27, 2024
My 91 year old mother has been receiving this paper since the 70's. They were charging her $157 for 4 week delivery including Sunday. I checked with another customer only to find out they were charging her $38 for 8 weeks including Sunday. This newspaper should be ashamed of themselves for taking advantage and ripping off the elderly. When I called them they told me "every customers price is different". What the hell?? So you make up the prices as you go along?? They ultimately gave her the same rate as the other aforementioned customer but had been ripping off my mother for years! They also have delivered the newspaper wet and not delivered a new one when I called to complain. The supervisors I've spoken with are useless. If I could give zero stars I would and I would cancel the paper but my mom enjoys reading it so that's why I haven't yet done so. No wonder most people get their news online, this is the worst run newspaper company I've ever dealt with. Horrible customer service and a lousy newspaper at that.

I would put negative stars if I could. My mom has been hospitalized for weeks and they will not credit or extend her subscription until she gets home. Basically, they just take your money and do not care about your situation. Never again.

Is there a zero rating? I'm a former employee trying to find out where my 401k funds are. there is no one that will talk to me, no phone number, no lobby to find anyone. I called the investment company and they say the company moved the funds with no other information.
For a communication company...you are terrible at communicating. I need help and I've left phone numbers and emails every where I can. I also reached your 'customer service' department that is apparently in the Phillipines and they don't know what a 401k is so they can't help me. Wow...disgraceful.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 2 - Luanne S.Artesia, CA060Aug 3, 2024
While it's nice to have access to local news, the paper is shrinking and content seems to be mostly from the NY Times and the Associated Press. Anyone who gets critical thinking can easily pick up on the manipulative language in these articles. It truly has become one-sided propaganda. The automatic subscription obscures the extremely high rate being charged for this publication. I get that they have high overhead, but the rates are outrageous. If I weren't sending my grandson the comics page, I would cancel. Service is usually reliable, but the two times I have called because the newspaper was missing a section, I have been assured that a correct copy would be delivered within 90 minutes. Great promise, but neither time was a newspaper delivered. NIce customer service person, but the point is getting the overpriced paper we've paid for. Sorry, OC Register. I would have loved to think more highly of you.

I would give them a zero rating if I could...they have been charging me for 2 years for the Sunday paper...I have not received a new paper from the OC Register ever...they refuse to refund my money...as fraud as it gets...
